Hello, The Lux Island ventilation hood was designed for exactly the open- concept island kitchen design you are remodeling! It is not difficult for your contractor to install in the ceiling above your cooktop. The maximum ceiling height is 9ft.There are 2 size options 43" 2/ panel and 63" /3 panel. There are also choices for CFM - power blowers, depending on the power and size of your cooktop.
