• Yes you can use outdoors. Yes you can view it on a smartphone through our free phone app simply named "Zmodo".

• It works great outdoors. I have mine setup outdoors. The only way to view your security footage is through the zmodo cloud services. So I use the app on my phone, but I think you can access from a computer as well. But you do have to setup an account. Service is currently free, but I anticipate they'll start charging at which point I'll dump this camera for another with local storage.
