My old laptop was 10 years old and not capable of keeping up with newer technology on the internet but as a retired senior I did not need the best-this laptop fit the bill as affordable and plenty of memory & hardrive to fit my needs

My daughters been begging me for years for a laptop, and since she’s older and more mature now we decided to get her one for Christmas. I initially bought a Lenovo idea pad 15” in red, and after much research and having family compare laptops we sold the Lenovo to a friend and bought this one. My daughter has “iReady” for school and the laptop makes using this reading software a breeze! My daughter loves Netflix, YouTube, roblox, minecraft, hello neighbor etc. and this laptop does all of that and more quickly and efficiently. We absolutely love it, and so does my daughter. I’m officially the coolest mom ever. oh, this laptop is always on sale too which made it even better!

Updating is a nightmare on this machine

This laptop feels like a 2007 laptop of how slow it performs. I had to wait 3 hours to get all the latest Windows updates. The only good thing about this laptop is the speakers. The screen looks like it's made in 1993. The color shifts is very bad if you angle it the wrong way but that's what you pay for, for a low end Laptop. I am a bit spoiled since I am use to a 2015 Macbook Pro and a Dell XPS. I am just trying to fix this laptop for my niece since it updates very slowly. It is taking two to three hours to keep it up to date is a crime.

Bought this for the price. Needed a replacement for my 7 year old Toshiba Satellite. This new laptop isn't significantly faster than my Toshiba dinosaur, leading me to think bloat ware is slowing down this new laptop. On paper, this laptop is a lot faster, but in reality, it isn't based on how slow it is just opening a browser window. Also note the cooling fan on this thing is distractingly loud. I've owned enough computer's to know that I'll get used to it but it is really loud. I'm going to keep it because it is inexpensive, and it does what I need it to do. And to be sure, you shouldn't expect a lot from this laptop. It can run Office software and let you surf the web with ease, but this is not for gaming or super users. If you need a laptop with a lot of muscle, go ahead and fork over the extra cash for a computer with a latest generation Intel i Core processor and capacity to expand memory.

I like the size and price of this laptop. I don't make a lot of demands on a computer because I'm retired. But even just checking emails and looking up information is often slow and awkward. Sometimes it freezes; sometimes it shuts down for no reason. I had a Geek check it out and could find nothing wrong. Also, I was assured when I bought it that my old printer would be compatible - it's not.

If you are looking for an inexpensive laptop for simple use this will do the trick. It was a bit slower than I expected, but for the price point it is acceptable. The available ports, keyboard size/layout, and price were right on the mark for what I was looking for.

Less expensive than those with core i processors, and offer similar performance. Battery life is ok but you will want to have charger ready.

You're getting what you pay for, and for the $250 price tag... It's just internet browsing. I'm a mom-tographer and I'm not able to use lightroom or photoshop without it freezing or crashing (the program, not the computer). For basic internet needs (ie Facebook, Emails, Recipes, Pinterest) this computer is pretty sufficient.

was on sale picked up for $207, excellent purchase for the price. The build is a solid plastic, packing solid CPU performance, 500gb's of storage for your pictures and videos. It handles well with light gaming as well, especially on older 2000 titles. Can't complain for the price, the quality of HP always surpasses expectations!

I got this for my mom for Christmas and gave it to her early as her old one broke. So far it is working very well. She is very happy with it. The price was very reasonable too. I unfortunately didn't have enough money to buy her an expensive one but she loves this one!

I was in the market for an economical PC. I found the HP is a great value. It has more storage than I will ever need. It has numerous USB ports, microphone inputs, storage slots and HDMI. It also has a slot for memory cards. I’m not a gamer so the AMD R4 processor provides adequate speed for my purposes. Lastly the 15.6”screen has great resolution. Price was the best I could find. Durability of the case could be a problem, but, time will only tell.

Wrong info on Best Buy's spec page for this laptop

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Selected this laptop for price and it had the features I was looking for according to the website. The specs on the website say the wireless is ac (dual band) but in reality it is b/g/n (2.4ghz only). Didn't find this out until I was setting it up and realized it wasn't seeing my 5ghz wifi at home. While disappointing, it's not enough for me to warrant a return.
