I know a lot of people don't like this movie, but after you watch it a couple times, you can really appreciate just how good it really is.

The new 4K iteration of 2001: A Space Odyssey is the high water mark for 4K restoration of a legacy title. I’ve seen the movie many times over the years in theaters and on home video and the picture and sound here blew me away. A must-own disc for fans of the movie and home theater enthusiasts.

First if all, I really wanted to express how beautiful this glossy steelbook is. In person, it is stunning! However, I cannot end this review before I mention how atrocious the video transfer is of the Dolby Vision 4K blu ray. Blacks are gray and highlights are blown out. Buyer beware.

I highly recommend this 4K disc of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The color and clarity are greatly improved in many scenes, and not as noticeable in others. But, overall, easy must-own for fans. If you aren't familiar with the film, then I highly suggest watching it before buying. It's an enigma.

This classic has one of the best looking 4K transfers ever.

A lot of these film to 4K conversion movies have significant noise artifacts which I find distracting. However this movie is very well done. There is small amount of noise through the entire movie but it was at low enough levels that it was not distracting. There are only a couple of short scenes where this sun is directly being imaged by the lens that looked really poor. (Hence the 4 stars instead of 5). A friend didn’t even notice until I pointed it out. This is a great 4K HDR version of a classic. I highly recommend it.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of this film, I got to see it twice on its original 70mm unrestored and its IMAX restoration and those are the best ways to experience this movie. As I do not own either a large theater or film projector, this is the best way to watch this masterpiece.

For those who have seen the movie, not much is to be said. It's hard to believe this is from 1968 and the restoration is beautiful.

The pace is slower than we are in movies today, but the story is phenomenal and still holds up after all these years (as do the amazing special effects). The 4K picture is tremendous and is the best the movie has ever looked on home video. Must see for any cinemaphile!

I have been watching '2001: A Space Odyssey' since it first came out in 1968. This newest version, remastered in 4k video and surround sound, brings this movie to life in a way that could not have been imagined in 1968 (except, perhaps, in Stanley Kubrick's brilliant mind).

Amazing picture quality and sound. The movie itself is a slow watch, but great as a reference picture.

Great movie as always and looks even better in 4k. Definitely worth the upgrade from DVD or regular Blu Ray.

The movie is a classic. Personally, I've seen it in most if it's versions: original showing, VHS, DVD, Blu-ray and now this version. The story is complex enough (or ambiguous enough) but the visuals in this new 4k version... are stunning! Worth the purchase!

A classic that’s been restored to today’s standards. This is the movie that defined an entire genre. A must buy for sure.

If you are a movie buff you must see this film, it is the true definition of 4K, such a beautiful transfer from blu Ray, a great subliminal art movie, if your ever interested in wondering if 4K is worth it buy this film and it will change your mind

I've never seen this movie before, I have watched reviews as well as read reviews and everyone seems to say the same thing. As I get older i'm getting more into sci fi\sci fi fantasy movies and for some reason this one sticks out to me. So i'm giving it a go.

This was a beautiful remastering of an all time sci-fi classic movie; much, much better than anything I have seen before.....

Great movie. Ahead of its time. Worth watching more than once fo the special effects.
