A lot of these film to 4K conversion movies have significant noise artifacts which I find distracting. However this movie is very well done. There is small amount of noise through the entire movie but it was at low enough levels that it was not distracting. There are only a couple of short scenes where this sun is directly being imaged by the lens that looked really poor. (Hence the 4 stars instead of 5). A friend didn’t even notice until I pointed it out. This is a great 4K HDR version of a classic. I highly recommend it.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of this film, I got to see it twice on its original 70mm unrestored and its IMAX restoration and those are the best ways to experience this movie. As I do not own either a large theater or film projector, this is the best way to watch this masterpiece.

The pace is slower than we are in movies today, but the story is phenomenal and still holds up after all these years (as do the amazing special effects). The 4K picture is tremendous and is the best the movie has ever looked on home video. Must see for any cinemaphile!

I have been watching '2001: A Space Odyssey' since it first came out in 1968. This newest version, remastered in 4k video and surround sound, brings this movie to life in a way that could not have been imagined in 1968 (except, perhaps, in Stanley Kubrick's brilliant mind).

Greatest Film ever made. 4k puts the regular Blu-ray to shame. This is the best way to watch the film besides screening it in 65mm or 70mm

2001 is a landmark film which inspired such things as Star Wars. The special effects were ahead of its time. Now in 4k, it is a visual masterpiece.

I know a lot of people don't like this movie, but after you watch it a couple times, you can really appreciate just how good it really is.

The movie is a classic. Personally, I've seen it in most if it's versions: original showing, VHS, DVD, Blu-ray and now this version. The story is complex enough (or ambiguous enough) but the visuals in this new 4k version... are stunning! Worth the purchase!

Classic film by a top rate director. Stanley Kubrick does great things and this movie shows it. A must own on 4k.

I've never seen this movie before, I have watched reviews as well as read reviews and everyone seems to say the same thing. As I get older i'm getting more into sci fi\sci fi fantasy movies and for some reason this one sticks out to me. So i'm giving it a go.

If you are a movie buff you must see this film, it is the true definition of 4K, such a beautiful transfer from blu Ray, a great subliminal art movie, if your ever interested in wondering if 4K is worth it buy this film and it will change your mind

If you're a big fan of the Sci-Fi genre, you MUST own this movie. If you don't own it already, or heck, even if you do on DVD or Blu-Ray, you MUST get THIS! THE Definitive version of 2001: A Space Odyssey in glorious 4K UHD. Fantastic Extras too!

For those who have seen the movie, not much is to be said. It's hard to believe this is from 1968 and the restoration is beautiful.

Great product, no issues. Would definitely purchase 4k movies again from Best Buy, if you could....

The film is problematic and enigmatic. A special beginning and middle, only to let down and confuse at the end. A slower burn than Blade Runner, pacing isn't optimal. But fans of the film will be treated to perhaps one of the finest restorations seen on UHD. The detail is stunning, and the colors vivid. The sound is defined, crisp, and evenly mixed. After seeing this, one wonders why such restoration effort isn't common among older films.

This release was delayed multiple times and I'm so glad to finally have it. The design is simple but fantastic. Steelbook has a nice matte finish to it. Absolutely incredible film to watch in 4K. Easily one of the greatest films ever made.

I've only seen the standard Blu-Ray (Haven't got an Ultra-HD TV yet). It's a beautiful restoration of a nearly 50 year old film! The picture is stunning and the sound crystal clear. Can't wait to upgrade my set so I can see it in UHD!

Amazing picture quality and sound. The movie itself is a slow watch, but great as a reference picture.

One of my all time favorite movies and I'm joined by many others. The 4K HDR is wonderful and the Dolby Vision takes it a step further (you have to have a Dolby Vision player, I use the SONY UBP-X700). A must have for your 4K TV.

Great movie as always and looks even better in 4k. Definitely worth the upgrade from DVD or regular Blu Ray.
