I purchased this monitor as a replacement for an older one. I'm a graphic designer, and wanted something that would faithfully display my work. I'm very pleased with its clarity, color and size. This monitor allows me to arrange apps on screen without much overlap, making it a handy addition to my system. It works with PC and Mac. Maximum resolution is 1920 x 1080, so expect larger text and program interfaces. A word of caution: the monitor needs to be assembled to its base, and I had some difficulty setting it up due to the instructions being so sketchy and brief. I finally referred to the picture of the monitor on the box! The monitor is also quite top-heavy compared to its base, so you won't want to tilt it too much or move it around a lot.

Acer 27" FHD LED Monitor - Great Bang for the buck

I really needed a new office monitor that didn’t break the bank. I use both Mac and Windows boxes. Mac for work and an windows for my personal laptop. The Acer offered many great options for a very reasonable cost. I got the on in Black. It had the typical stats such as 1920x1080 FHD, 4ms refresh, flicker less. A couple of the features caught my eye. Acer calls it “AcerVisionCare” This includes something called “ComfyView”. It is supposed to reduce the reflected light on your display for a more comfortable viewing. I must say, I was skeptical at first, but it really did work in my situation. I have it in my bonus room, so I literally have windows on 3 of the 4 walls in the room. During the day it can be challenging to have any display positioned to minimize the extra light reflections that I deal with. I have to say that the Acer has been the best of the different options I have tried over the last several years. The picture is stunning and the zero-frame technology (there is a very small frame) that they use really does make this look like a suspended picture. Overall, I am very happy with this monitor. There is only one drawback that I have seen and that is the stand/mount. It is not as sturdy as I think it should be, it tends to wobble a bit even though I have ensured all screws are tight. I have set it back a bit on my desk because of this. I don’t have small kids that could turn it over, but it just feels like the base should be more solid. I would still recommend this monitor as it still exceeded my expectations.

The Acer S271HL-IBIDX monitor has turned out much better than I expected. The monitor itself is very slim and sleak, the display goes almost all the way to the edge, the color reproduction is good if a touch on the warm side initially (even with 'cool' selected), if not exceptional. The connectivity is the standard DVI, VGA and HDMI connections, which isn't really anything to write home about. What's really interesting is this... The monitor is rated to be 60hz refresh which is standard for most monitors unless you're going for a gaming or other high performance monitor. What I've found is that I am able to drive it at 75hz without issue, Windows even recognizes the monitor as 75hz capable. It's interesting that this is the case since the other monitor in the line claims and functions at 75hz but this one does not mention it. Outside of that, this monitor is capable of Freesync which can lend itself to fluidity in gaming with AMD graphics cards. It really is an excellent looking monitor and as I mentioned, functions better than expected. Highly recommended

I was looking at getting another monitor and setting it up on our home security cameras so I wouldn’t have to switch inputs on my current monitor that I use on my desktop computer. It’s a 144hz gaming monitor but it’s only a 24” monitor. I saw this new Acer monitor supported AMDs FreeSync “which is what my other monitor has”, but use it through Nvidias FreeSync compatibility feature. I figured which one had the best image and overall performance then I’d use the other on the security system, the Acer ended up being used there. Unboxing and Setting up: The monitor came well packed all surrounded by a Styrofoam shell. Inside were the screen, base “2 pieces”, power adapter - power cord, and a VGA cable “odd”, and manual. The base is in two pieces and is easy to put together with only one large screw that you have to tighten, there’s also a VESA 100 mounting pattern in the middle of the back so you can mount it on the wall or an adjustable arm. I ended up mounting this on the wall using a fully adjustable arm above my desk so I could easily see the security cameras while sitting working on my desktop. The monitor only came with a VGA cable which is sort of old school and odd that they would include that, I don’t have anything that would use it other than the security system, and that has a HDMI out. There’s one HDMI, one DVI and one VGA port, no display port on this model, and luckily I have plenty of HDMI cables lying around. I initially hooked the monitor up to my windows 10 based system and went about setting it up. Then that’s where I found that FreeSync NVIDIA compatibility works only through the display port on NVIDIA cards “mines a GTX 1070OC”. That was disappointing but I did find that using the HDMI port you can change the refresh rate to 75hz which is nice. It’s rare that I top out the 144hz with my other monitor anyway. After going through the on screen menu “like most monitors you have to work your way through it by the buttons on the bottom edge of the screen, clumsy but it works”, and getting everything tweaked in the way I liked it, the image was actually really good. Actual Use: I’ve been playing Skyrim “again” and that game only tops out at 60hz, there’s no screen tearing and the image is very sharp and clear. It initially was sort of washed out but going into the menus in both the monitor and the NVIDIA control panel you can get it tweaked in to where it looks very good. This monitor uses a VA panel, my gaming monitor is a TN panel, so the contrast on this new Acer is actually better than my gaming one, plus the viewing angles are a lot better too. Now without the display port and trying to use the FreeSync compatibility mode being impossible is the reason I ended up using this monitor for our security cameras, this is a great monitor for that. Our cameras are the new 4k ones and their image is super sharp, and even though this is only a 1080 monitor the image those cameras produce on this monitor is outstanding. Zooming in the details are extremely good, better than I would have ever guessed security cameras could be, even better than when it was hooked to my gaming monitor. Conclusion: This is a really nice monitor, especially if you have an AMD based video card and and utilize FreeSync, if you are using a NVIDIA based system you are out of luck as that requires a display port connection for the FreeSync compatibility to work, “sort of hit and miss right now too till NVIDIA approves more monitors”. It would have been nice if Acer included a HDMI cable, I can’t see a need/reason for including a standard VGA cable. The ability to bump the refresh rate to 75hz also helps a lot during gaming, it’s a noticeable difference over 60hz when you play something like Witcher 3 on it. The viewing angles are very wide, with very little wash out at larger viewing angles. There’s very little back light bleed and displaying a black background shows a very even lighting surface. This also has a 4ms refresh rate, but with a VA panel that’s a little different than the refresh rate of a TN panel, it actually seems slower than that but blurring wasn’t that bad but not as good as the 1ms refresh rate of the TN panel of my gaming monitor “another reason I ended up using this as a security camera monitor”. For the price though, if a higher price gaming monitor is not within your budget you could easily get by using this and you should be pretty happy with the image after you spend some time tweaking it. And if you happen to want a monitor for using on a security system then I’d take a very close look at this one. It’s more expensive than a base monitor but if you have the new 4k cameras it’s well worth the extra, as the image displayed there is just so much clearer over the other monitors I tried that system with. It’s just odd that this monitor came with the VGA and DVI ports; sort of old school and I don’t know why you would want to display a VGA image on this 1080p monitor.

Colors and contrast are excellent on this monitor while just surfing but it really shines while gaming if you have a card that has Freesync. I played DOOM which had less graphic lag that my older monitor with is only 30 MHZ, also ran some color and contrast test with good results. Performance overall was great and will satisfied most gamer's and productive folks who use editing software for pictures/videos. This monitor has VESA mounting 3 video inputs HDMI, DVI, VGA (VGA cable included) 300 nits. The tilt is adjustable but no way to rotate the screen and the base that holds up the monitor feels cheap. This is a good gaming monitor with a few bells and whistles if you own a compatible AMD GPU. PROS: Crisp picture Slim and lightweight. 4 ms response time Customized settings CONS: No 180 degree rotation Flimsy base

Review: This Acer monitor is such a great help for all the use case scenarios I could throw at it. I find myself always with split screen browser windows to fill the monitor and I hardly feel that either window is too small. The screen is bright and and for streaming content such as Netflix or Hulu it looks good for casual shows and documentaries. Movies look alright and screen size is plenty, but the dark portion of the movies are where this monitor isn't great at, which isn't a big deal . I do find myself sitting a bit further back away from the monitor than I'm used compared from before, but that may be a good thing. Gaming on this screen is pretty good with freesync and I have no complaints. It's great for RPGs such as the Witcher 3. It's not ideal for shooters like csgo, but it's not bad either. Overall a solid Acer monitor.

This is for the most part a daily use monitor. It has a nice, clear and bright LED display that is 27" diagonal. It has a good amount of settings that are gamins specific, plus full gamma controls. The FreeSync feature only works on computers with certain AMD / Radeon video cards, which lets the card dynamically adjust the refresh rate up to 144hz. Controls: The power button is prominent and has a bright light (blue or yellow when on or standby). The LED light cannot be turned on. All the other controls are not really visible and on the bottom of the monitor's frame. Pros: - Quality screen - While the screen is not matte, it's not overly reflective either - No visible frame except on the bottom - Blue Light filter setting lowers the amount of blue light, but the image has noticeable green / yellow hues Cons: - No DisplayPort - Stand is not height adjustable, only tilt - Only VGA cable provided The stand is rather basic, which is an oval plate holding a small arm that attaches to the bottom of the monitor. Only the tilt is adjustable. However, this monitor has VESA holes sop consider getting a VESA arm is you need to adjust it. Overall is a good monitor. It has an understated, simple look. With no visible frames on the top and sides. Controls are simple and intuitive. It's 27", which is a very comfortable size for both work and videos. FreeSync can help some games with the right video card to use this. Personally the biggest issue is that it has no DisplayPort, however, the HDMI connection is perfectly fine, and it doesn't really make a difference on FullHD monitors like these. Just make sure to get the right cable or adapter if HDMI is not an option.

Recently upgraded from a 19 inch LCD to the 27 LED Acer 1080p monitor. Unboxing and assembling the monitor was fairly easy. The monitor comes with a VGA cord, I added my HDMI cord to the monitor. When testing the monitor out from my desktop, laptop, and tv, viewing images and videos, were pleasantly appealing to the eye. The videos response time was good as the videos streamed and when gaming it moved pretty seamless. To project images from the laptop and tv, the setup to do so was fairly easy. For the price and quality, this monitor is good for those that want to stay within a budget.

Purchased it with the pandemic shift to working from home and easily became a staple for work and personal computing needs along with a second gaming monitor. Multiple inputs allows for multi-use without fidgeting with cords and the input switch is accomplished with a few easy clicks. Settings are easily customizable to your personal preference and comes with a variety of pre-set options for gaming, entertainment, general usage, images, etc. Set up was easy and assembled pretty easily right out of the box. One critique is the base is a bit small compared to the size and weight of the monitor but it has proven to hold up during months of use. Would surely recommend to anyone looking for a general use, versatile monitor to add to their computing and / or gaming repertoire.

I bought this monitor for my wife About 5 months ago because a bigger monitor means she can keep denying that she needs glasses. It is quite a bit less expensive that other brands of similar size and features. The picture quality is good, it’s easy to set up and adjust settings, and it hasn’t given us any technical issues. Good buy.

I purchased 2 of these monitors to work with my HP laptop. It was easy to set up, good instructions. The monitors have great color and resolution. The price was reasonable as well. Stands are small enough not to crowd your desk space. The only downside is they did not come with HDMI cables and nowhere on the box did it say that good thing I had a could of cables, it saved me a trip back to Best Buy. I can remend these monitors, very good so far.

I purchased this monitor to replace a much older one that was used side by side with a similar older monitor in an office. I bought this because I needed an RGB input and an HDMI. Later realized it had no TV tuner. I’m using it with a desktop PC and may convert to Apple. I suspect it will work fine if I convert. I would have given 5 stars if it had the TV tuner. But I am happy with my purchase at a discounted price.
