Customers praise the ICONIA ONE 10's screen size, ease of use, and its affordability. Positive feedback also highlights the decent battery life, ample storage, and lightweight design. However, some users express dissatisfaction with the camera quality and suggest that the RAM could be improved. Concerns were also raised regarding charging issues experienced by a few customers.

I bought this Acer Iconia One 10" 32gb tablet as a gift for my 9yr old son and in simple words...he loves it. The tablet is very responsive, it has plenty of capacity storage to download many games and applications. The screen is bright, and quite large. The start-up is not very fast but, it's acceptable. We've been using it for a little more than 3 months, and to this date its had no problems at all.

Bought the tablet to watch Netflix while I'm at work and it works very well for what it was bought for. However, this tablet has a slow response time and some apps just cannot be used for this reason. I love the size of the tablet, the screen is beautiful and I am happy about my purchase for the cost of the item.

I had never given tablets a second thought until I got this one; I assumed my phone was good enough for the apps I use, and my Surface Pro 3 could handle pretty much anything else. However, since getting this tablet, I must admit I'm using it more and more.
The 10" screen is large enough to view videos more comfortably than my phone, and the speakers on either side of the tablet provide much better direct sound than either my phone or Surface. Of course pairing Bluetooth devices is fairly simple and straight-forward, and all the ones I paired, including a headset, worked flawlessly. The 10" screen is nice, but I believe the tablet would benefit from a true HD screen instead of 1280x800. This isn't really a huge issue, and it might be one of the ways the price is kept fairly low for this size tablet. As far as battery life goes, I was able to stream Mission Impossible 2 and Interstellar back to back from a full charge. That's easily 5+ hrs of video streaming and there was still a little battery left. The fact that the tablet has two micro-USB ports is very convenient, especially if the tablet needs to be charged and there's a USB device you need to connect at the same time. The micro-SD slot allows more storage for whatever you need, although the cover for the 2nd micro-USB port and micro-SD slot seems like it might break during removal. Although the tablet has 32G of ROM, it only has 1G of RAM, which seems to fill fairly quickly and sometimes slows things down (at least that's what I believe is causing it). Again, not a huge issue, but the first week I had the tablet, it locked up several times and had to be rebooted. There was a firmware update about a week ago which appears to have solved the lock up problem.
All in all, for the price, I think this is a fairly nice tablet. It's definitely changed my view on tablets in general, and I wouldn't think twice about recommending this one.

Right out of the box this tablet impressed me as pretty classy-looking. It appears to be well-constructed out of strong composite materials and even has a non-slip, textured finish on the back. The 10.1 inch, black screen is generously sized and contrasts smartly with the encompassing, white, rounded borders surrounding the display area. It is very thin, approximately 5/16” thick, and weighs approximately 17 ounces. At first glance and because of the streamlined design, layout, and features, this tablet will persuade you that it is much pricier then it actually is. But, the Acer Iconia One engineering and numerous features make this tablet very affordable and a bargain compared to other more expensive tablets with like characteristics. Lots of 'bang for your buck'. WooHoo!
There are two front-facing, DTS Surround Sound speakers on either side of the tablet, protected by aluminum trim. Also at the front face of the tablet in the top border is a 2MP camera for photos or video-chatting. Another 5MP camera is positioned in the top back cover. On the left side of the tablet is a micro-USB port for charging, and, or, connecting to a PC. Adjacent to the micro-USB port is a 3.5 mm jack for a headphone or auxiliary speakers. At the top left of the Iconia One is a power button button and next to it is the button for volume control. Adjacent to the volume button is the built-in microphone. On the very top of the Iconia One is a removable plastic cover, which protects the microSD card slot and the microUSB connection for peripherals like a mouse or keyboard.
This Acer Iconia One comes with a combo USB and A/C charger, which can also be used to connect to a PC to transfer photos, etc., tablet stand, and a 'Getting Started' guide. This guide provides the websites to register this device and download the comprehensive 'Users Manual', which provides operational details with many useful illustrations.
Some of the more noteworthy attributes I loved about this Acer Iconia One 10.1 Tablet:
* 1280 x 800 resolution on this Acer tablet is HD, with a nice sized, multi-touch, 10.1 inch screen. Vibrant colors and it orientates itself as you rotate it vertically or horizontally, is IPS with an LCD display screen, and uses LED Backlight Technology.
* Wi-Fi card, 802.11 a/b/g/n, supports both the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz radio bands. So, if you have a dual-band router you can sign-in to the higher 5 Ghz frequency, which offers more channels for high-bandwidth transmissions like streaming movies and videos from Netflix or YouTube.
* MicroUSB port on the top of the device next to the microSD slot, which allows you to connect a mouse, physical keyboard, or additional USB data storage.
* You can download thousands of apps for games, communication, lifestyle, books & reference, social, etc. from Google Play Store and, or, Amazon App Store.
* Micro-SD card slot on top of tablet can accommodate an additional 128 GB of data storage.
* Advantages of this Acer Iconia One over my more expensive I-Pad Air; front facing speakers with quality sound instead of speakers facing down, expandable data storage, bigger screen, video chatting over several services, Hangouts, and, or Skype.
* Voice search and commands for the Internet, compose emails, and GPS locations and directions.
* Can use my I-Phone or Android mobile phone to set-up a Hotspot after pairing this Acer Iconia Tablet with that particular phone through Bluetooth.
There are many other fine features like the latest Android OS, Marshmallow 6.0, - - 1.3 Ghz, quad-core processor - Bluetooth 4.0 - 32 GB of Flash Memory internal storage capacity – 1 GB internal memory – approximately 10 hours of battery power when fully charged - one year warranty.
Now, time for some of the Cons:
* This Acer Iconia One needs some sort of screen protection as fingermarks are prolific and hard to clean from the unprotected screen.
* The plastic cover on top of the tablet for the microSD card and microUSB port is kind of 'cheesy'. It appears not to be durable in the long run and should be re-designed.
* Acer has preloaded this fine tablet with lots of 'bloatware' apps, which you need to go through and, or, evaluate / eliminate for more efficient memory management.
* The RAM memory could be increased or even doubled. You have to get into the habit of managing your 'open' apps wisely. Those 'open' apps not being used must be 'closed', or, you will constantly receive insufficient memory warnings.
I think Acer has done a pretty creditable job designing this Acer Iconia One - 10.1 Tablet for the price and its numerous functions. I received this complimentary device in exchange for a unbiased and comprehensive review. This affordable tablet is almost as good as my I-Pad Air at only a fourth of the cost. Because of its great functionality, large screen, affordability, and lightweight it would also be an ideal tablet for Seniors, especially, those with arthritis, or hand issues. This 17 ounce tablet can comfortably be held with one hand for a reasonable amount of time. And, for the very same reasons mentioned for Seniors this Acer Iconia would also be great for kids, too, especially with Christmas fast approaching. There are thousands of games, learning, and reading apps for children at both Google and Amazon – great many of the FREE. YooHoo!
I recommend this Acer Iconia One as an 'everyday' tablet for anyone, who wants a multi-media device for pics, videos, games, e-mail, web browsing, video chatting, music, movies, etc. and does not need a laptop / desktop for other kinds of complex functions. If you do your 'homework' and compare – this Acer Iconia One 10.1 – 32 GB Tablet will not disappoint . . . .

This is an update to the Icona One 10.1 B3-A20, there isn’t a lot of difference that I can see they look identical. It has the same MediaTek MT8163 processor and 1gb system memory, with 32gb of storage space. The screen is a 10.1 1280x800 resolution screen and is supposed to be IPS.
First I feel this is a tablet for someone that want’s a tablet but doesn’t want to spend much money, “this one isn’t expensive at all”. It may also best be suited for a youngster to play around with and watch videos along with some learning games, it would probably work really well for that, and not a big gouge out of your wallet if they happen to break it.
First the positive things.
The design is pretty good, it’s not a thin tablet but it’s not really heavy, the back is flat white, “really white” and has a nice texture for gripping. I was really surprised to find a second micro USB port under the cleverly concealed cover right above the camera and is part of the chrome trim piece. There is also a Micro SD card slot under there as well. Not sure if everyone will like it but everything else is stark white, “the back, bezel, even the power and volume buttons, everything but the surround around the rear camera is very stark white”. It also comes with a little plastic two position kick stand which is a nice add-on. It’s also nice that a tablet at this price has 32gb worth of storage built in.
Now the negatives.
This isn’t the fastest tablet out there, but for the price point it’s exactly where I would probably place it.
The screen to me doesn’t look like an IPS screen, from an angle things start washing out pretty fast, straight on and it looks really good. The volume is not very loud, even maxed out I found myself wanting to use headphones. In a quiet room they are plenty but any background noise I needed more.
There are also no sensors besides a position sensor for game playing, and that’s it. Aida64 shows there is nothing else but that.
There’s only 1gb of memory, and it will fill up fast. If you are a power tablet user then you need to look elsewhere, but you probably already know that. Like I said at the beginning, this seems to be more for someone that isn’t going to do much other than check email, browse the internet and maybe some casual gaming, but that’s about it. I would be a good first tablet for a kid or young adult to start out with.
In all this isn’t too bad of a basic tablet, I checked email, used hangouts a little, without any problems. I also watched some YouTube videos and they played really well. I haven’t had time to test everything out but when I have some time spare time I’ll be checking it out more and reporting back.

Acer makes some really good electronics for the mid market and the Acer Iconia One 10 is an good entry level 10 inch screen tablet.
Whats Included - Tablet, Wall Adapter with micro usb cable and an acer tripod stand.
Screen - The Acer Iconia One 10 has a 10.1 inch diagonal IPS 1280 x 800 screen which looks pretty good when viewing photos and videos. From my experience it worked fairly well in sunlight and the auto brightness worked as expected.
OS - Out of the box it runs Android 6 Marshmallow and the experience is very smooth. There was no lag when playing basic games like Angry Birds, Candy crush and so on.
Hardware Specs - This runs a 1.3 GHz quad core MTK MT8163 processor which has surprisingly good results with the included android marshmallow. This had a 32GB ROM with an expandable micro sd slot making it easy to supplement increasing memory needs for data, photos and movies. The 1 GB ram is low but good enough for an entry level tablet. It has two front stereo speakers and the sound quality is pretty good.
Camera - It has a 5MP rear and a2MP front camera. The quality of the picture is decent but definitely leaves room for improvement. I believe this is a way for Acer to keep cost low while providing a balance for quality. I am sure no one would buy this to take high quality pictures.
Wifi - This does have a/b/g/n compatible wifi and can connect to 5 GHz networks. Browsing experience was good enough using the wifi and it holds the signal well without any drops.
Overall a very good android 10.1 inch tablet with decent performance.

Good Starter Tablet

TheAcer Iconia One is not an upper end tablet, but rather a good value tablet. It is a nice size with its 10.1" viewing screen. The screen resolution is 1280x800, which is roughly equivalent to a 720p screen; just barely considered HD or high definition. It looks good enough for playing games, basic tasks like email and social websites and using it as an e-reader although the viewing angle isn't that great. It pretty much needs to be looked at directly for the sharpest picture, otherwise it gets very dark.
It features a front and rear camera, so it's also good for video chatting via its wi-fi connection. The picture quality is average, with 5MP on the rear and 2MP on the front. There are a number of features to play with in the camera settings for those that like to get creative.
Although it doesn't get tremendously loud, the sound is pretty good with its dts-HD Premium Sound in stereo.
The 32GB memory is expandable via microSD up to 128GB, so you'll have plenty of storage space. On the downside, it only has 1GB of RAM, so multi-tasking is iffy, even with its quad core processing. Stick to one task at a time and its fine though.
There is no dedicated home button, which can take some getting used to. It will appear onscreen if you tap the bottom of the screen.
One nice item that is included is an Acer Tripod, a plastic doohickey to prop your tablet on instead of laying it flat.
Overall, this is a good starter tablet. Great for kids or first timers of any age. More advanced computer/tablet users will want to upgrade to something a little more powerful.

Boot up takes approx. 1 minute. Feels fairly light weight & has a textured back. Solid glass front seamless edge to edge over white frame is very nice. I was real impressed with the large front facing speakers which produced a very good sound quality and volume. I tried a few YouTube videos and was pleased with the quality and sound. I checked the internal memory and found I still had 23 GB even after installing a few apps. The processing Ram (1GB) is too small and was nearly at capacity, I would have preferred at least 1.5 GB. The response time was slow when opening apps, but still functioned ok. The battery lasted 12 hours with normal use and also watched a few videos. Acer also includes a nice plastic stand to rest the tablet on. I took a few pictures and found decent quality. The SD card slot and USB port are under the top chrome cover. This is a nice tablet with the exception of low Ram.

Upon opening the box there is a clear notice that you should charge (with included chargre/usb->usb micro cable(3')) the tablet before first use. Mine arrived with 20% charge, but was to 80% in about an hour. The tablet is about the thickness of 5 quarters (see photo) and is running Android 6.0. After initial set up of the 32GB tablet you will find that 365Mb is used by installed applications, but only 24.01GB is available (8GB used by OS/recovery). So it's important to know how the microSD card is used to extend memory (and where it's located - under the "chrome" hood above the cameras - pry up; gently - micro usb connector also located there). Upon inserting card your asked if it will be shared with other devices or used to extend main memory; if used for the latter it is encrypted and cannot be read by other devices (some form of copy protection obviously) And it's all or nothing, you can't partition part of the card for sharing and part to extend memory (I tested with 128GB card and had no problems).
Upon first use the first thing I noticed what that the screen can easily be viewed from wide angles without any distortion (a great improvement over devices more than 2 or 3 yrs old). It includes a variety of Microsoft Office Applications and Google applications that can easily be installe/enabed from the default icons. There is also an shortcut to install multiple social media apps (not installed by default).
The only problem I encountered was with the the touchscreen not reacting evenly across the entire screen, sometime I'd attempt to enter a password and it would take several attempts to type a character in from the on screen keyboard, some times rotating the screen easily resolved the problem- really the only issue I encountered in testing.
I installed the Directv streaming app and was able to stream clean non-jerky video - was really impressed by the dual, front firing speakers on this tablet. The vided looks very good but not as life like as device that supports full HD (the 1280x800 screen resolution is nice and bright but it is not as clear as other tablets that offer higher resolutions, but this is a value tablet, not a high end tablet, the difference in price has to do with the lower resolution, that being said I was still impressed by the screen quality.
The tablet recognizes both 2.4and 5Ghz networks but not AC networking, again a value product decision I'm sure. I also was able to pair the tablet with a logitech Bluetooth Keyboard/trackpad, that was quickly recognised and easily used. As well as external BT speakers which sounded excellent with the DTS audio from my Google play account.
All and all this is a very nice tablet for the price, sure a couple of high end feature are missing (HD screen, AC networking) but the audio quality of the built in speakers are MUCH better than many higher end devices, it's reasonable compromise, you will probably need to have 2 MicroSD cards (but their cheap nowdays), one for sharing with other devices (if you don't use or can't use the cloud) the other to extend main memory.
If you bought a "Ice Cream" tablet a few years ago that can't be upgraded to "Marshmallow" (6.0), the OS ease of use enhancements are significant, this tablet would be a nice step up, at a very reasonable price.

Budget Build, Budget Price

Out of the box, the tablet feels like a high-tech piece of plastic. But that’s a given since it’s a budget oriented tablet. For those needing a no-frills kind of tablet, this Iconia One can fit the bill.
Setup is dead simple if you’ve used Android devices before. You go through the setup of wireless network connection, Google account login (or creation, if this is your first), and on the final step, it prompts you if you want to create an Acer account. I skipped this as I prefer a more pure Android experience. Granted, this won’t let me check on how Acer’s account fits into their ecosystem. But virtually everything can be done using any of the apps from the Google Play store.
The tablet ships with Android 6.0 “Marshmallow” out of the box. This is nice since Android 7.0 is still fairly new and probably won’t be found pre-installed on Android devices for another 3-6 months. Viewing the settings, Acer did not put any emphasis on creating their own system skin, which is good, as it stays more true to the original designs of Android 6.0. There are additional elements that are specific to this tablet. But overall, this is quite close to stock Android.
The display resolution is a mixed bag. At 1200x800, this is as barebone as it can get. You’ll be able to view 720p video content easily. But a 10” tablet should come with 1080p display. This is personal preference, but not a deal breaker.
The tablet comes with front facing speakers, a design that falls upon the category of a dying breed. With front facing speakers, you can really bring out the best in audio, if paired with speakers to complement it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Using “Purple Rain” by Prince (bless his soul) as an audio test, and comparing it to my Motorola Nexus 6 phone (also with dual front facing speakers), the speakers on the Iconia One falls on the high frequency tinny side. Drums were not pronounced nor heard much when compared to my phone. No equalizer were used when testing, in order to check how well stock settings fare. This was further confirmed when I changed tune to “Party Hard” by Andrew W.K., in which the melody has a lot more drum beats. Like “Purple Rain,” the sound was tinny and on the high frequency side. So while dual front facing speakers should make for a better audio experience, it is not the case if the speakers used isn’t high quality.
But while the front facing speakers turn out to be well under par, I plugged in my ear buds to listen in to any potential difference. The earbuds used were Audio Technica brand but I’ve long since forgotten what model it was (sorry). The Iconia One sounds a lot better when listening using earbuds or headphones. However, I plugged my earbuds onto my Nexus 6 for comparison and there is some difference. The Nexus 6 produces a more deeper low frequency whereas the Iconia One sounded quite average. Whether or not an equalizer setting can help with that remains to be seen, as everyone has different listening and hearing preferences.
On the performance side, the Iconia One seems to do okay for a simple and basic tablet. For doing one task at a time, this is fine for anyone. As a quick test, I loaded up several websites in Chrome across several tabs -- ESPN, Ars Technica, CNN, and a Pokemon Go fansite. After letting the sites fully load itself into memory, viewing any tab seems good. Scrolling on any of them didn’t exhibit any stutter or hitches to indicate any possible performance issue. A quick Pokemon Go test (with no wandering, sorry) showed that it can handle 3D well. As to whether or not it’ll perform well in the long run, that remains to be seen. The Iconia One tablet has 1GB of RAM which can be limiting to apps that makes heavy use of it. Any large app or game may take a bit to swap out or close.
The Iconia One is a nice tablet for its size. The 10 inch display makes viewing content easier on the eyes. However, that also means the size of the tablet gets larger, which can make holding the tablet with one hand a trivial matter. As an interesting bonus, Acer included a little stand to prop up the tablet for easier viewing. This is probably a very good idea and something other manufacturers should try to include. It makes viewing content easier and I can easily see this being used in the kitchen. Viewing recipes as you prepare your ingredients, the stand will make this task a lot better.
As for charging, the tablet started up with about 80-90% power left. The charger’s spec calls for 5.2v 2amp power draw. However, the part that has me concerned was the LITEON brand on the charger itself. Having a bad experience with LITEON product, and the fact that it’s “Made in China,” I question whether or not the charger is 100% safe. When I plugged the tablet to the charger, I had about 48%. After an hour, it was at 52% or 54%. The tablet reports that it’ll be 5 hours until fully charged. Seeing this is a major disappointment. Whether or not this is due to the charger itself is unknown. Comparatively, the Nexus 9 has a 6700mAh battery and can be fully charged in a couple of hours. The Iconia One tablet has a 6100mAh battery and takes over 5 hours to fully charge from 48%.
Last is the camera, since I highly doubt anyone uses a tablet for taking photos, especially when traveling. Under low light conditions, such as indoor, the camera performs poorly. Granted, the sample photos I’ve taken did not have HDR turned on. Still, the camera did not do well when taking pictures indoors. Lots of blur and mostly unfocused, the camera has trouble trying to adapt to the lighting conditions. This changes when you move to outdoors where a lot of light can make a difference for a poor performing camera. And to test HDR, I took two photos. One as shot and one with HDR turned on. The photo with HDR turned on showed better details for subjects that’re in the shadow. (More photos at URL at the end.)
Overall, the Iconia One is a budget tablet with budget design and budget hardware. On the absolute basic level, this is a good tablet to have. It’s good for getting simple tasks done such as running simple apps, visiting websites, checking email, or posting on Facebook. It doesn’t have good speakers but a good pair of earbuds or headphones can somewhat fix that. The UI design is surprisingly close to stock Android, with very little changed (a couple of additional configuration elements in the Settings and a custom simple launcher). This is a good tablet to have if you have only simple needs. But start loading some high demands, such as needing a good camera, or using it as a media player, and you start to find the tablet to be lacking. Recommending this tablet is trivial. It’s a good recommendation for those who need a cheap tablet. But at the same time, I cannot recommend it to anyone who have used Android before or want more from a tablet.

I own several tablets, from iPads to Samsungs and Google Pixel C to Azpens. I've got something on the very low end and several on the very high end but nothing in the middle. The Acer Iconia One fits that middle spot quite nicely.
The tablet sports a 1.3GHz quad core 64 bit processor with 1GB RAM/32GB storage memory and 10.1" 1280x800 IPS display. It comes with Marshmallow 6 Android OS and is Wi-fi only (no LTE or 4G). All of your favorite apps available from Google Play Store and it comes with Microsoft Office Suite preloaded so you are ready for work as soon as you boot it up. There is some bloatware but not as much as a Samsung tablet and the apps are easily deleted.
It has clean styling with front mounted 2MP camera and speakers on both sides. A micro-USB port and headphone jack are on the left with power switch and volume control on the top. The rear mounted camera is an acceptable 5MP. I would have liked to see a little more definition but at the price it's acceptable and in line with comparably priced Samsung at twice the price. There is a very useful second micro-USB port and micro-SD card slot hidden under the camera trim on the top.
The exterior has a non-slip textured back and it feels solid with no flex. Acer touts dts-HD Premium Sound from stereo speakers is amazingly better than other comparably priced tablets.
At $139.99 MSRP street price should be at least a little less, making it a great tablet for kids, college students, for browsing the internet and streaming videos and movies. In the box comes with charger block, USB charge cable and a folding stand.
I use mine for my mother-in-law that suffers from dementia. I loaded several memory games, solitaire and some of her favorite movies and because it's simple to use she isn't intimidated. I can also see it being perfect for cross-country trips for kids to keep them entertained. Since the specs are decent and the price is just over 100 bills if it gets dropped or scratched I won't be shedding any tears.

The Iconia One 10 is an update of model B3-A20 and has done a great job of keeping this tablet up-to-date with respect to being a budget tablet. Acer updated the Android version to 6.0, updated the processor (but not the speed), and increased the built-in ROM from 16GB to 32GB. The clarity is not that great (1280x800), but will work well for everyday internet surfing or Facebook. The RAM is still only 1GB which limits its multitasking ability and speed.
One of the photos I included compares the iPad 2 mini with this tablet. Since there is such a price difference, it would be unfair to compare specs. I just wanted to show that the sacrifice in quality is not that significant for casual use.
Pros
Plenty of memory for light users
Expandable ROM with microSD slot
Bright screen
Long lasting battery (lasted about 10 hours on a single charge)
Cons
1GB RAM is not enough to run multiple programs (needs to be at least 2GB)
Includes a lot of bloat ware
Screen has a lot of glare and shows fingerprints easily
Conclusion:
Acer is doing a great job at keeping technology at a price everyone can afford while also being reliable. This would be a great tablet for anyone who doesn’t require speed or multi-tasking and causally browses the internet or Facebook. However, had Acer included 2GB of RAM, it would have appealed to a wider span of customers.

This tablet has pretty decent performance for that it is. I found that it handled multitasking pretty well, but there was some noticeable lag and stuttering with the UI at some points. Over all, it wasn't terrible, but it was there. A lot of bloat is installed on this tablet, most you can delete or disable. The screen is decent and visibility in bright areas is pretty good. Battery life will easily get you thru the day with moderate usage. I really enjoy the design of the tablet, it really feels like a quality product and it feels pleasant in the hands. The rear and front cameras are pretty average and are no where near what they put in the top of the line Samsung phones these days. Over all, I would recommend this to someone who isn't a power user or that requires the latest and fastest tech. The addition of a stand is nice as well.

If you are looking for an inexpensive tablet with a good size screen for surfing the web, email, facebook, youtube, movies, etc. then this is probably a good option for you.
I like the textured back of the device as it makes it easier to grip and hold (vs. say an iPad that needs a case otherwise it's too easy to slip out of your hands and drop.)
Speakers are fine and front facing in stereo although they are a little tinny given their size, but most of the time I have headphones on when watching movies.
Speed is decent for the price, but don't expect it to be as zippy as a $500 tablet.
The screen only appears to support up to 720p HD (didn't see 1080p as an option on youtube for example.), but is crisp and has a 16:9 layout so movies take up most of the screen.

Decent Tablet

Overall, this is a decent tablet for the price. It's a functional tablet featuring the full Android OS suite in the sub 150 price range. You can download all your favorite google play apps, access YouTube, listen to google play music, etc. However, performance, quality control, and construction is where this tablet suffers.
Right out of the box my tablet had two dead pixels on the display (image attached). In it's pricing segment, I don't find this to be very acceptable. Maybe I just got an odd one out of the bunch but that still makes me question the quality control on this particular tablet. This was further validated when I turned the tablet around. Whenever I turn on the display, a white LED light is visibly seen through the textured back panel (image attached). This is particularly noticeable in dim lit environments. These were the two major let downs for me. Aside from that, overall the construction is decent. It does feature a nice textured back panel that makes the tablet easy to grip. However, I did not like the plastic chrome painted accent around the rear facing camera since it seemingly comes of as an inexpensive afterthought. It just feels and looks...cheap. I think leaving out the plastic chrome accent and simply keeping an all white textured background would have been a much cleaner and attractive look.
Aside from the negatives I pointed out, the tablet was very functional. I was able to retrieve my email, do some light reading on web articles, watch YouTube content (720p only; 1080p not supported), and use it for some light productivity tasks like using it to view my lab sheets. Albeit being able to accomplish these tasks, the budget-friendly quad core processor is certainly nothing to write home about and it shows as application lag becomes apparent from time to time. It also has a rear facing camera but it's nothing special and won't take any high quality images. But it's there if you need to take a quick shot of something. It seems to me that this tablet would be perfectly suited for kids or those that are not very technically inclined and just need something basic to carry out light duty tasks. If your kid breaks it, at least it didn't break the bank. I don't think I would recommend it to any of my tech savy friends, but I would certainly recommend it to some of my friends that are in the market for a tablet for their kids.
One feature that I have to point that I thought was really cool was that when you are watching a video in landscape mode (holding the tablet horizontally), the volume up/down rocker button intuitively switches every time you flip the tablet 180 degrees so that the button pointing to the right is always the volume up. I believe that all mobile devices should be designed this way but my Galaxy Note 5 is proof that that is not the case. Little design cues and attention to detail like this is what I think makes products stand out from others. Unfortunately though, the cons I mentioned earlier were significant enough to hold it back from getting anything higher than 3 stars.

I have had very little experience with tablets in the past, so I am basing this review on expectations I would consider reasonable.
I like the texture on the back of the tablet; it provides a good gripping surface. I also appreciated the speaker location on either side of the tablet’s face. It provided adequate stereo sound for the videos I watched.
The initial setup was simple and seemed quick (about 7 minutes). There were a number of permissions requested, both by Google and by Acer. I granted all permissions requested, in hopes that this would allow the tablet to perform at its maximum ability. There were a lot of pre-installed apps, but these were fairly easy to get rid of using the normal Android OS methods.
Usage time came in at 9 hours of continuous Netflix video streaming, on a full charge (Luke Cage marathon), which I found reasonable, but the time it took to charge the device back up was surprising. 5 hours of uninterrupted charging only got the battery back to 42%, and powering back up takes almost 2 minutes from pressing the power button, to being able to open an app. Things seemed to go downhill from there. The touchscreen is either slow to respond, or not very accurate; I had to zoom in on clickable areas of websites in order to register a touch. System memory is at 40%-50% used without a single app being open. Running more than 3 apps, or having more than 5 tabs in a browser (Firefox) renders the tablet virtually unresponsive. The camera delivers pictures that lack focus and the colors only remotely resemble the actual colors of your subject. I’ve included a screenshot of the system memory situation, as well as a photo I took with the tablet.
Overall, I feel like this tablet may be good for someone wanting to entertain small children with videos or simple games, but it is honestly less capable than my phone.

First let me say, many review items but never seem to take price as a factor. This device to me is marketed as an alternative to higher end more costly 10 inch android tablet.
The screen resolution is why I took away a star. For this size screen you really should be getting HD resolution. But the large internal memory of 32GB and the included cover SD slot is appreciated and useful. The cover is a bit difficult to remove but removal should normally only be needed every now and then.
The screen is still clear and gaming is pretty fast paced. Productivity software apps are quick and touch screen response is accurate and fast. Screen refresh is fast. Again keep in mind the price point of this full size tablet.
The back has a wonderful tactile non slip design without feeling in anyway tacky. I love that. The tablet is light enough to hold comfortably in one hand for extended periods. A nice sleeve is all you should need for protection and maybe a screen protector.
The white color is jet white which I like but others might not.

I was very excited to open up the package on this Acer Iconia One 10" Tablet. It arrived nicely packaged, and the product itself has a nice feel to it. It does have a 10" screen so it's not going to feel like a phone or small tablet in your hands, but the design on it is modern and stylish.
So I turned on the system. It took a long time to boot up. The operating system felt sluggish and unresponsive for what seemed like an eternity, but it was a good three minutes or so to boot up and give me an opportunity to log on to my wifi network.
After connecting to my wifi network, I wanted to check out the screen capabilities. Downloaded the YouTube app, and was very disappointed to see how slowly the app loaded, compared to my phone and other tablet. I have AT&T GigaPower at my house. So there is nothing wrong with my internet service or capabilities.
Finally the video I loaded appeared and I was able to play it. I have to say, the screen resolution was very nice. The video was very crisp and clear. Playback was smooth when it finally buffered.
Next, I love to browse for new cars. I downloaded the Cars.com app and started browsing for cars. The tablet was very slow to load new information to the page when I selected a vehicle. It became frustrating, and then on one selection, the tablet just turned itself off.
I rebooted it and tried again. Opened up my app again, and still just as slow to retrieve information as before.
Battery life is concerning as well. I used it for about 40 mins after a full charge, and then put it up on a granite countertop, on it's stand. Left it overnight, went to turn it on, and it was dead.
So, plugged it in to charge, and it seems to take a long time to charge back to 100%. The charge countdown to full is inaccurate as well. It showed 3 mins left to 100% charge, but took another 15 mins to achieve 100% charge. I live in a brand new house, so I know there isn't an issue with the outlets in my home either.
Same thing happened the following night. Left it overnight and the battery drained. So this doesn't make it very user friendly to put down and pick up as an everyday tool. My home is kept at 71 degrees, so it's not like it's the arctic in here, which would drain the battery quicker.
I really wanted to like this tablet but it just didn't cut it for me, and I came away actually really disappointed in it.
In summary, it has a very nice design, and a great screen resolution, but if I have to charge it before every use, and the user experience is sluggish, I just can't recommend it.
