Customers recognize the Predator XB272 monitor's exceptional picture quality and high refresh rate as significant strengths, leading to overwhelmingly positive feedback for gaming experiences. Many appreciate the G-SYNC compatibility and vibrant colors, while the sturdy stand also receives praise. However, some users point out that the speakers are subpar and the price may be considered high by some. A few isolated reports mention minor issues such as dead pixels, but these appear to be less frequent.

Sure there are cheaper monitors out there, and perhaps those are even under certain quality-known brands such as Dell, Asus, etc. but this monitor is a beast!
27" is a great size, especially for gaming--not too small, not too big; furthermore, the monitor can turn vertically! It can also swivel left-to-right, up-and-down, and has an easy to use spring height adjustment system.
No curve? No problem! 1ms response timing with 60-240 Hz refresh rate options are better for gaming! All with a click of a button under settings. Who needs curved gaming-monitor immersion when you can run games at 240Hz with 1ms response time? That to me is pretty immersive!
This monitor has a display port, HDMI, USB 3.1 connections, and an audio jack. It is able to run FHD at 1920-1080p, with G-sync compatibility so no screen tearing! It has various display modes specifically for gaming: action, racing, sports, and user setting--as well as standard, eco, graphics, and movie modes. There are other display options such as: blue light filter, for night gaming; overdrive modes, off, normal and extreme; adaptive contrast, and dark boost, levels 1-3. The monitors settings are easy to navigate and change, there are 3 buttons and a navigation button/joystick on the backside of monitor (bottom-right).
Overall this Predator gaming monitor is one of the best ones I've ever had and is quite possibly the easiest one to build and setup.

Yes it’s 1080p, 240hz, TN panel. If you aren’t a competitive player I see no use for 240hz. 144hz is the sweet spot for casual gaming. The speakers shouldn’t had been included because they are the worst speakers I’ve ever heard. Monitor allows multiple choices of refresh rate. Overall if you got the specs to reach 200fps+ on 1080p then consider buying it.

This monitor comes at a hefty price. Luckily, I caught it on sale for $399 and and have this as a primary gaming monitor. I had a 4K 60 and 1ms monitor which was beautiful but has an obvious input delay when compared to my other Dell 2K, 144hz, 1ms, I again dropped down to the predator a free playing with an esports gamer with the same monitor. I purchased a refurbished monitor with the same specs and was a believer after playing just a few games and always coming in 7th and 8th if FFA in Gears 5! The fluidity of movement was evident after going into the settings and turning on GSYNC. I purchased a 2nd! This monitor is a must have if your a competitive gamer.

This was a very spontaneous purchase for me, I simply bought this to play with my girlfriend in the same room but on our own systems. Little did I know, this would be the best thing to happen because the monitor itself offers HDMI & DP connections which allows me to swap between using the PS4 or the PC at any given point. It is not 4K but I’d rather have my 240hz with 1920x1080 resolution simply because it renders beautifully and the details are so much better compared to using my 65” 4K UHD tv plus it runs much more smooth when gaming via PC. The monitor is sturdy & can do a 45 degree turn incase you want it vertical instead of horizontal. My only complain would be the built-in speaker because the quality is horrible (which is why I ordered some computer speakers) to the point that I think even the speaker from a PS4 controller is more loud & clear.

G-Sync & 240 Hz is awesome

======= Summary =======
The Acer XB272 G-Sync monitor is a great gaming monitor. It has a cool design, a solid build quality, has good ergonomics, offers numerous calibration options, and most importantly, offers buttery smooth gameplay and FPS via its G-Sync functionality, 240 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time. The built-in speakers, however, are simply horribly awful. For a TN panel, the viewing angle is pretty good but not as good as high-end IPS panels. Overall, though, the XB272 G-Sync monitor is a great package that will give competitive and serious gamers an edge in gaming.
*Pros:
-Sleek design.
-Easy to assemble.
-Useful ergonomic features (tilt, swivel, height adjustment).
-27" is a good size for a gaming monitor used on a desk.
-Easy to operate OSD/monitor setting buttons and "joystick."
-Numerous calibration options available.
-240 Hz refresh rate~! 1ms response time~!
-G-Sync technology for nVIDIA GPU owners.
-Display is very bright.
-Includes USB 3.0 ports.
*Cons:
-Out of the box, the calibration was off and content looked poor.
-Up-to-Down viewing angle change leads to severe color shifting, color accuracy reduction, and loss of luminance. Side-to-Side angle change is better but still not as good as an IPS panel.
-1080P (not as crispy and pixel-dense as higher resolutions).
-Built-in speakers are horrible.
======= Design & Build Quality =======
Unboxing and assembling the Acer XB272 monitor was a pleasure. It was well-packaged, easy to remove and gather everything, and put everything together. Besides the necessary power cord, Acer also includes a Display Port cable, an HDMI cable, a USB cable, and a plastic bracket to hold your headphone behind the monitor. I didn't install that optional headphone holder but I thought it was a nice and thoughtful addition from Acer.
The monitor is solid and looks very durable with its higher-quality plastic and metal parts. The bezels are skinny and pleasing to my eyes.
All the ergonomic features were easy to use - tilt, swivel, and height adjustment. The effort required to adjust the monitor felt just right and once the monitor has been set into its new position, it stayed put.
Acer put the monitor setting buttons behind the panel in the lower-right corner and it was easier to access and operate than I initially expected. There is a joystick-like lever/button behind the monitor and it made navigating between the menus fast and simple. A very nice design.
All in all, it is a well-built and well-designed product from Acer.
======= Panel Quality =======
Out of the box, I was disappointed with the factory calibration. The colors looked off, the contrast was set too high, the blacks didn't look natural, and reading text on a white background was distracting due to jagginess and a general lack of smoothness. Fortunately, Acer gives the user ample control over the calibration settings and I was able to calibrate the XB272 to my satisfaction.
Here are the settings I used:
-Mode: User
-Brightness: 65 (for gaming)
-Contrast: 40
-Gamma: Gaming
-Color temperature: User (Red: 47, Green: 53, Blue: 54)
-Saturation: 100
Acer allows you to save up to three custom calibration settings which is a great and thoughtful feature.
I also opened up the nVIDIA Control Panel and set Gamma to +0.92 and Digital Vibrance to 55%.
After calibrating as above, the display "came alive" and content began to look really good and I became happy and satisfied. :)
As expected from a $500 monitor, the amount of light bleeding was low and very good (an advantage over IPS displays) and there were no dead or stuck pixels.
Now to the "Cons." The XB272, being a TN panel, suffers from color distortion and luminance loss when the viewing angle changes. The Side-to-Side viewing angle change is okay and actually pretty good for a TN panel. But when there is a Up-to-Down viewing angle change, there is severe distortion in color accuracy, color shifting, and loss in luminance. So just look straight on at the monitor and not from above or below. Realistically, I don't think this is a big issue because I certainly do not bend my body down on a desk to look up at the monitor while I'm gaming or reading.
Another weakness of the XB272 are its two 2W stereo speakers. They are the most awful speakers I've ever heard. Even with the volume at 100%, the sound sounded like they were coming from far away, was teeny, and very hollow. Bass is expected to be awful on monitor speakers and they certainly are awful on the XB272 as well. When my wife heard the audio coming out the monitor, she laughed out loud because they sounded so bad, LOL~.
Another slight "Con" for me is that the XB272 is only a 1080P panel. My main monitor prior to getting the XB272 was an Asus Designo MX27AQ 27" 2560x1440 IPS monitor. As a result of the pixel density dropping from ~3.6 million pixels to ~2 million pixels, some games and content looked more "soft" and not as sharp. But I also understand that this is a trade-off that Acer made to put in a nVIDIA G-Sync display that is capable of hitting a 240 Hz refresh rate. On the bright side, by playing at 1080P on my nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, I can run all my games at full eye-candy mode (e.g., Ultra, Very High, Highest) and not suffer from framerate drops or inconsistencies.
With that said, I still like the panel overall because: (1) I have my own gaming speaker setup, (2) the more important Side-to-Side viewing angle distortion is acceptable and good for a TN panel, and (3) after calibration, the display looks great and accurate.
======= Gaming Performance =======
Paired up with my nVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, I can run ALL of my games at the highest graphical settings and enjoy super buttery-smooth gameplay and consistently high framerates. Even when playing hectic and fast-paced games such as Final Fantasy 15 with its dizzying array of special effects, there is only smoothness with no screen tearing nor motion blur. It's a beautiful and fulfilling experience.
If you are a gamer and you have a G-Sync supporting GPU from nVIDIA, you owe it to yourself to try a monitor with G-Sync refresh rate technology. You won't regret it.
======= My Verdict =======
Overall, I really like the Acer XB272 G-Sync monitor and I give it a 8.5 out of 10. I recommend it for its sleek & ergonomic design, good panel quality (after calibration), and superb G-Sync experience and performance that elevates your gaming experience to the next level. I only wish the resolution was a bit sharper by going up to the WQHD (2560x1440) resolution.

Words can not describe the Acer XB272 27" monitor. Your eyes have to see the glory of 240hz. My configuration isn't a high class (Pretty old at this point. Specs: Intel Core i5-4670k, Nvidia GTX 980TI, and 16 GB RAM.) but it does well for PC gaming only. I was previously using an Acer XB270HU @ 1440p 144hz paired into G-Sync but even that feels extreamly outdated compaied to this.
Recently AAA games have been getting more and more demanding and finding the right balance between framerate and good visuals have been difficult for me. XB272 solves my issues with gaming while still giving me a good resolution. The true star of the show here is the 240hz. This alone was more than enough for me to give up 1440p. The zero point frame rate with the colors of this monitor was beautiful playing games like Final Fantasy XV, Grand Theft Auto V, Batman: Arkham Knight, and more.
Taking out the box was easy and simple. I pulled it out alone and there are instructions on the flap of the box. 4 simple steps to step it up without the instructions were perfect. So easy to do and get you set up and running in no time. Acer was kind enough to include all cords for you to get going unlike in the past. DisplayPort, HDMI, Power, and USB cords are all included. On the side of the monitor is two USB 3 ports that can also charge your phone/device while the monitor is off.
Placing it on the desk and turning it on the GPU automatically recognized the monitor after connecting. Going into your NVIDIA Control settings and enable G-Sync (compatible with Nvidia's graphics cards.) From there you can witness 60hz, 144hz, and 240hz. Cranking it up to 240hz will show you just how smooth gameplay can truly be on PC. I've tried multiple games on Steam the first being Counter-Strike: GO with not a frame missing at all and precision aim was so satisfying. Overwatch ran like butter and so did Batman: AK as the city just bloomed with lights really popped on the monitor but it did not drop a frame at all.
My favorite games like GTA V, Killing Floor 2, Bioshock Infinite ran like I never seen them run on TV before. My final test was Final Fantasy XV...I can not tell you how much of a pain to see it running on a PS4 Pro after coming to see the flawless framerate it had to offer. XB272 showcased all of the particles from the magic of the game so crisp. This was the way FFXV was meant to be played hands down and I'm embarrassed for even buying the game for consoles. Its just the amazing response times gives this game a look and feel on the XB272 that makes my jaw drop.
I want to take a moment to talk about their bezels on the monitor which is ULTRA THIN. I personally never seen anything like this before and reminds me of Dell's InfinityEdge for the sake of comparison. There are the thinnest bezels I've used in my entire lifetime of using a PC and I'm in love...With more of these paired together, you wouldn't be distracted by the black bar during screen switch. XB272 also have 3D vision support but I don't have the glasses to test out.
At first, I was unsure if I wanted to replay these games @ 1080p and I was put off but after using this G-sync monitor I want to go back and play games in a different light. To me, that's what 144gz/240hz gives you. It makes you see games in a different way than before. Feels better, Plays better, and looks better. Your eyes have to witness what I mean for you to truly understand.
There is a host of Options in the monitor's menu such as OSD, OverDrive, Aim Assist, Framerate counter, User color options, Brightness, Inputs...you know the usual. set them up to your liking and your good to go.
So whats the bad news about the monitor? I know a lot of gamers don't care about this but the speakers...The speakers oh...they are BAD. Like so bad that my iPhone 8 Plus has the louder better sounding speakers. HTC One from years ago has better speakers. I like a nice clean setup but don't use the speakers on this thing. Look I get it no one person would use these things but why put them in if its useless? if anything I rather them not even try.
Acer Predator line is awesome and this is G-Sync Monitor is a knock out of the park. It's something someone has to see to appreciate PC gaming at its finest. Just seeing those PC games run without a hitch and to see the smoothness of real 240gz was a treat. would I recommend this to a friend? YES. If they play PC games and have G-Sync? YES! I am in love with it.

I received my unit a couple weeks ago and after extensive testing, I couldn't be happier with its performance and build quality. This 27 inch G-Sync enabled monitor is reliable and I dare to say that with its resolution of 1920x1080, fast response time of only 1 ms, and a high 240Hz refresh rate, the Acer XB272 is a must for gamers. Notwithstanding, the sound is subpar for a gaming set up. Recommended, Yes!
To begin with, the back of the Acer XB272 offers plenty of ports for connectivity including a full Display Port, HDMI, USB 3.0, and standard headphone jack. Speaking of sound, I decided to take one star because of the lackluster sound on the XB272. Tiny built-in speakers deliver minimal and distorted sound; however this issue is easy to solve by adding your own sound system. On the other hand, there are two extra USB 3.0 ports at the side of the monitor, both of which support fast charging.
The visuals on this monitor are incredible, expect to see sharp and vivid looking graphics on every game. In addition, the response time makes you feel in total control of your actions; which will give you no excuse to blame input lag if you lose a match. I also got the monitor locked up at 144Hz which is only my preference, but it's possible to tweak it all the way up to 240Hz if that's your cup of tea. The point is this monitor won't let you down, on the contrary it will immerse you even more in your games. I've been using the monitor mainly on fighting, shooters, and hack and slash games without any issues. Nvidia's G-Sync technology works wonders on this monitor as well.
Aside from its sturdy build quality and gorgeous looks, another bonus you get with the XB272 from Acer is the included hook attachment on the back which provides a very efficient and convenient way to store your headphones when not in use. All in all this monitor has exceeded my expectations; I totally recommend the Acer XB272 to all gamers out there who are looking for a decently priced G-Sync capable option. Once again all the pros of this monitor surpass the minimal annoyance of its terribly sounding speakers; just remember that its fairly easy to find good speakers if you don't own them already. I'm including a couple pictures of the unboxing, this is a good looking monitor.
Thanks for reading.

This is a high quality gaming monitor.
Getting the negative out of the way first:
As mentioned in other posts and confirmed the 2W speakers provide poor audio quality, I would suggest pairing this purchase with a quality soundbar or speakers if you ever plan to listen to anything without a headset.
This is mostly disappointing due to the premium price tag associated with this item, which I purchased for $500 but is at the time of writing $600.
That is the end of the complaints, this is a monitor capable of 1920x1080 display at 240Hz with G-sync technology integrated, which is fantastic for gaming.
Some notes here:
-This monitor does not support this refresh rate over HDMI only a Displayport input will allow 240Hz refresh rate
-While most current gen graphics cards will support this full resolution and refresh rate, please check that yours does before spending the money on any 240Hz monitor
-Additionally only certain graphic cards are compatible with G-Sync
-DO NOT purchase this monitor for console(Playstation or Xbox) gaming as even the upcoming generation of consoles will not likely support higher than 144Hz.
This is a TN panel and not an IPS, broad generalization in difference- TN displays provide better response time and lower motion blur while IPS provide better color accuracy and viewing angles, IPS are also generally lower price. That being said, for watching videos from a distance and at minor angles, I have not had any noticeable lack of quality or color accuracy.
As this is my first high refresh rate monitor as well as my first G-sync monitor, I can not say with certainty which benefit in performance is more noticeable but I suspect it is the 240Hz. I turned both features on immediately after setting up the monitor and have no reason to turn off either as the improvements were MASSIVE compared to my old 60Hz monitor. Input lag has disappeared, displays are now smooth and free of screen tearing, and image quality is great even when playing extremely fast-paced games. As this is a 27" monitor it also remains comfortable to view from a slightly greater distance for relaxed video watching or more causal gaming.
I would recommend this product to those interest in seeing the improvements of a high end monitor or those who are focused primarily on competitive PC gaming. While a different monitor may be better for you due to personal preference, this is a quality product and it delivers high performance. If you are interested in this product I would suggest waiting for it to go on sale as it is priced for premium performance.
I would not recommend this product to gamers who prefer non-competitive games or those interested in higher visual quality than performance.
144Hz 2k and 4k resolution monitors offer a better mix of performance and visual quality for those interested in both competitive and casual PC gaming.
Additional notes:
-240Hz 2k resolution monitors have recently become available though at the time of writing none are clearly available with G-sync.
-Please do you own research and find what product is right for you.

These monitors (I bought 2) are amazing, especially on sale. They are definitely better than the 49" UHD 4K television I was using. I originally purchased 1 at full price, and then saw it went on sale for $200 off. I contacted Best Buy to price match and then bought a 2nd. I have them installed on my desk using a dual monitor mount. I am using them with a 2018 15" MacBook Pro and a 2018 Mac mini, so the G-sync and other NVIDIA functions are not being used. However, I using a Razer Core X eGPU with a Radeon RX Vega 64 and enjoying these monitors.
Each monitor comes with a DisplayPort and HDMI cable. The only downside to this monitor is the speakers, but I've never encountered a monitor that sounded good. I use a pair of Apple HomePods and a Sonos play:5 for my sound so it is not an issue.

This monitor really impressed me with the responsiveness and brightness, the ability to run at 240 Hz in games with G-Sync is really cool, it makes a huge difference. I thought it was a gimmicky thing before I actually tried it, glad I took the chance.
That being said I wish there was a 4K monitor that could deliver that same refresh rate but with a high contrast ratio, unfortunately that seems to be limited by the display port and not anything the manufacturer is doing.
One thing I need to mention is that there is no HDR Support on the displayport 1.2 connection, to technical people that's obvious but definitely something I wish I had researched before I bought it.
Overall this is a great monitor, as others have mentioned the onboard speakers are awful, but who uses that anyway?
The only thing I wish was different was the 4K resolution with HDR Support and a comparable refresh rate, but right now that's just not available anywhere.

I am getting started in the PC gaming hobby. I did a lot of research on monitors and I found that most PC gamers preferred a higher refresh rate and lower input lag rather than higher resolution monitors. After lots of research I came to the conclusion that 4k is overrated and isn't work the price to performance if you want to be competitive. So I decided to try this monitor out. I am very impressed with it. It has great quality and the refresh rate is incredible. It is steep on price but definitely a great monitor.

This monitor will absolutely deliver 240hz. If you're looking for 1440 or 4k graphics, then please remove this monitor from your considerations. If you are chasing FPS, then this monitor is worth your time.
The only con I would write is the monitor legs are long and take up a lot of space. However, this monitor allows for fully adjustable height/viewing angles etc so I have my monitor legs facing southwest and my monitor facing south. This allows me to tilt my keyboard and "flick" my mouse without interference from the monitor legs. Outside of that, I love this monitor. It's pricey, but true 240hz monitors fall within the $500-$600 price range (i.e. BenQ Zowie. This monitor is not meant to be your first monitor and nor do you need this unless you play "competitively," in my opinion.
Lastly, the knob to adjust the monitor visuals is amazing and for this price I'm glad they provided that feature.
