Who doesn't know about aliens? All the films that makes xenomorphs a true alien legacy for furture fans in one collection. Oh yeah the bonus content was a thrilling surprise too. Anyone who wants to relive sci-fy at its best is going to get this collection. I'm thinking about watching it tonight.

Well I thought that best buys version would be the best and I definatley believe it. I absolutely loved every one of these movies

The "Alien Anthology" Blu-Ray set is one of the most beautifully packaged sets I've ever owned, which is fitting giving how spectacular the cinematography is in (most of) the films. Formatted as a hard-bound book in a slipcase, the discs are lodged in individual pages, with a Viewer's Guide to the films and extras in a pocket on the inside rear cover. Beautiful metallic full-color that evokes the films is used throughout the packaging, and the quality of the Blu-Ray transfers is excellent as well. This is certainly the perfect gift for the sci-fi fan in your life! As for the individual films themselves, there is no question that "Alien" is one of the great sci-fi films of all time, and holds up remarkably well 35 years (!!!) after it was made. The sequels, "Aliens" and "Alien 3", are both good films made by great directors (James Cameron and David Fincher, respectively), but IMHO the less said about "Alien Resurrection" the better. Still, as part of the entire four film anthology it is worth watching- try watching all four in a marathon session! Oh, and lest we forget: Sigourney Weaver is a goddess!

I have all 4 Alien dvds, but now they are all together on blu ray with lots of extras!! What a difference to watch on blu ray, with high hd tv & a home theater system. It reminds me of actually seeing them when they came out in the movie theater, except without the very long lines.I love what each director & writer brings to each movie and yes...Joss Whedon wrote one of them; wonder why Ron Perlman is so funny?? Joss wrote alot of humor in "Serenity" and some of that shows up in Alien Resurrection",but of course having a French director didn't hurt. I prefer "Alien" 1st ; it just blew me away from the "usual" sci-fi flicks of that era. Dirty, gritty & realistic.... However, "Aliens" was just as entertaining and I am so glad Sigourney Weaver got nominated for an Oscar. How often does that happen in sci -fi???!! I wish "Alien 3" was as good, but it did open the door to a sequel. Ripley's DNA was gonna come back & bite someone.

I wont speak to the movies themselves since you can find any number of reviews on the internet to see what they are all about rather this review will be focused on what comes in the package itself. With this set you get all 4 Alien movies (1-3 and Resurrection) and two bonus discs including the making of the Anthology and the Anthology Archives. You also get a booklet that outlines the bonus features on each disc as well. The discs themselves come in a nice book type holder with an insert for each movie.with an outer sleeve cover. I have never seen the movies before but picked it up cause it was great value.

These movies are among the best sci-Fi and horror movies of all time. The re-mastered versions offered on this blu-ray release provide so much extra detail it's like watching them oagain for the first time! With subsequent viewings, I constantly notice tiny little details I had never seen before. There is so much extra content included that you could spend days watching all of it. The packaging is gorgeous and sturdy enough to feel very substantial and premium. Even at full price, this set is a bargain, but if you can catch it on sale it is a no-brained. All sci-Fi fans should have these movies in his/her collection!

Until Fox puts this series out again in 4K, this is THE definitive version of the Alien franchise on blu-ray and the list of special features on each disc is incredible. There's so much information for each movie you'll feel like an expert on the franchise after you plow through everything on the discs. Even the less successful movies in the franchise are covered pretty thoroughly here. If you love these movies but you never got around to buying them on DVD or blu-ray, this is the version to get.

I had the same set from the UK that I bought when it first came out. I bought it because it had a chubby blu-ray case in a slipcase and I don't like these "book" formats. I had a lot of issues with my PC Blu-ray player playing the UK version (it is formatted to play on US player and no issues with my PS4, but PC Blu-ray couldn't read it). So, I picked this up when it was on sale and yes, the disc plays fine on my PC player. That being said, the set is wonderful and aside from no digital copies, everything is perfect (tons of extras, multiple versions of the movies, etc). I do not like the packaging, but thankfully blu-rays have a coat on them that keeps them from scratching like dvds. Had this been a dvd set in this packaging, they probably would look terrible by now, but no issues so far. Still, I knocked a star off because I prefer the UK packaging with an actual blu-ray case. The discs are harder to get out of this set.

This Alien anthology really has it all and I'm then some. It has both versions of all four movies and a couple discs worth of extra stuff. Everything about these movies is here. It'll take a lifetime to see all the extra stuff. You can even do some cool stuff with the interface of each movie and link it all together. Haven't gotten into that yet so I can't really comment but it seems like a pretty cool idea. Any fan of these movies absolutely must have this anthology in their collection!! Highly recommended!

This terrific box set includes an absolutely beautiful version of Alien. It has been touched up and upgraded for 4K televisions (which I do not have, but I appreciate the attention to detail the comes through on my TV) and the quality of the matte paintings and practical sets look incredible. The packaging is also very nice, with thick card stock high quality images to enjoy. If you enjoy the Alien franchise, you'll appreciate this box set with the most up-to-date (quality-wise) versions of the films.

This is an excellent value for the price. Alien and Aliens being my favorite I'm partial to Aliens which is the best action/sci-fi/horror flick of all time in my humble opinion. Having a bluray quality version of these two movies is awesome and having the additional movies Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection should be seen as a bonus at this price it's worth having just for the 1st two movies.

NOTE this collection only goes up to Alien Resurrection and does not include Prometheus nor Alien Covenant. However, I believe this collection is well worth it even with missing those movies. It comes with a ton of bonus features and hours and hours of extras. And as a book lover, the fact that it's set up like a book to house all the discs was the icing on the cake for me. Well worth the buy and I highly recommend.

It may have been taken some time for "Alien Anthology" to come on Blu-Ray disc, however, it has been worth the wait. All discs are presented in both their theatrical and extended special edition versions, with high-def clarity and sound. With over 60 hours of special features and two bonus discs, this set makes the ultimate "Alien" movie collection you have been waiting for.

I have purchased Alien in various formats over the years, including blu-ray. Although this anthology doesn't offer anything new for the original that hasn't been available previously it still looks great and stands up to today's standards. The bookmarking might be useful to some; the interactive menus are easy-to-use; and each movie has the original theatrical release and the director's cuts. I'm glad I added this to my library.

I'm a huge fan of the Alien franchise and was super excited to see that the price of this blu ray box set was worth! Highly affordable and great content! Alien is one of the best sci-fi movies of all time; highly disputed with its sequel Aliens! Ridley Scott and James Cameron know how to pack a punch with eeriely haunting desperation and awesome action sequences! The acting is superb! A must own!
