I’ve been looking at fitness watches for a while now. I knew I needed to take better steps towards managing my fitness, and tracking my progress was the best way to measure my results. There’s a huge number of choices available, including smartwatches and rings. I was focused on performance, ease of use, and price. This Amazfit watch crushed the competition. I found it very easy to use.
After unboxing, it was ready to go within minutes. The app is simple, providing me the data I was looking for without being cluttered or confusing. The watch has a bright display that’s easy to see in bright sunlight. The screen responds smoothly with the feedback responsive. It is comfortable to wear, and with available watchbands, it’s easy to find the right one for you.
I found the tracked data to be extremely accurate. Monitoring things like heartbeat, oxygen and sleep was helpful without being overwhelming. Even the GPS was spot on. For health measurements, it gave me the results I was looking easily. With battery life that last for days, it can spend more time on your wrist and not on the charger.
More than fitness, it does provide many other functions. Weather, calendar, notification alerts, music controls and more. All the functions to manage your workouts easily.
If like me you’re looking for that wrist helper to improve your fitness, this is a real winner.

Amazfit - Active 3 Premium 45mm Smartwatch
I had no previous knowledge of Amazfit and had not heard of them until I saw this the Active 3 Premium. My only experience was with other smart watches attached to brand phones. Also, I haven’t had a smart watch in several years, so I felt I was taking a gamble. Turns out, this was a very safe bet. This watch is really nice, all around from the tpu band that came with the watch, to the selection of watch faces and the software that seems to track everything you do, especially when working out.
Another aspect I remember not really being a fan of at the time was the battery size of smart watches from a few years back. I could barely get through a day before needing to recharge it. I am so relieved to find out that battery mah size has increased significantly since. I have had this watch for about 3 days now. I charged the watch after opening and setting it up. Speaking of which, comes with a nice small charging puck, very lightweight and small. I simply use existing type C cables I already have laying around my desk to charge the watch. The only problem I found is that it was so good, that through 3 days of use with everything activated aside from always on display (AOD), I was still at 69%! I read where with those bells and whistles turned off, this watch can go around 12 days with out a charge. Wow.
The software is also a positive here. The Amazfit app, called Zepp, worked fine the entire time I used it. I have not had time to use all the settings so far as there are so many. There are many tools aimed at the fitness and running folks out there. I personally liked that it kept me updated on the calories I was burning throughout the day. For sleep tracking, that is here with also being in a section called HybridCharge that advises on the sleep you took with how you should be feeling because of it and gives advice on what to do that day. This should get more robust the more I use it and get used to it as it gets used to me. Notifications were sent through the watch with no problems and hardly any lag, which I always appreciate.
The build quality for this watch is also very good. I am very impressed all around considering this watch goes for hundreds less than othe smart watches of similar quality. I always had an issue with previous watches coming with bands that seemingly were made for giants. I do not have huge wrists, rather small actually. This usually is an issue finding a good band that fits and is also comfortable. I actually ordered a band online for back up, which I usually always did previously. Turns out I didn’t even need to take them out of the packaging and returned them promptly because low and behold, the included band is very nice. The band while TPU, feels strong and durable but not overly heavy on the wrist. Has many holes for a good size difference in wrists, which should cover most people comfortably.
I highly recommend this watch to not only the runners, but anyone who lives a busy lifestyle as well. The battery is unbelievably impressive in my short time with it. If you don’t want or can’t spend up to $700 for other smart watches, the Amazfit Active 3 Premium is under $200 and very worth it! I am very relieved that there are other choices for smart watches and even better than some bigger brands. If you’re looking for a quality watch that does the job of tracking health data as any other watch, but far less, this is the one to get. Great product. Also comes with an online store to download apps and watch faces for customization and the selections was pretty good.

What I like about this watch is the simplicity.. it paired right up to my Samsung phone and works great once you have the app installed. It certainly looks/feels good and offers a ton of different features that I have found useful, particularly phone notifications, controls, weather and different watch faces. I like the heart rate monitoring and SpO2 monitoring and more. Where this watch has shined for me so far is the battery life which has been superior to my Galaxy watch that I've had for a couple years now. While there are not necessarily the number of apps and customizations that you can get with a watch like the Galaxy watch or Apple watch, this one for me has all of the key monitoring features I use and apps. One key area to be aware of is what you do with notifications.. on this watch you are limited in what you can do in terms of replying to a message for example. For people like me though, I never user my watch other than for quick glance information and then I do everything else from my phone, so this watch is actually one I've really started to like a lot.
The only thing I have not liked so far is the included band.. I ended up getting a different band as I found the one it came with to not be all that comforable (I don't like the buckle style bands anyway). Other than that I have been really impressed with the features this watch has vs what my Samsung watch has.. and I won't be getting another Samsung watch as this really does all that I need and all with better battery life. I'd highly recommend trying one out!

Amazfit Active 3 Smartwatch, is a clean simple cut to the chase style of watch. Looks super neat ad has worked flawlessly. Getting it ready was super simple, literally download the app and follow the prompts on your phone. Fitmet is perfect and comes well packages. The watch itself feels very solid and comparable to other watches in the market. The application for the watch makes sit super simple to customize the face of the watch to your liking. The bands are good but will be looking for an upgrade to something a little more fashionable. The rubber bands are not a deal killer because many watches come with them but i would have been nice to see it with different colors or even metallic bands. Overall, I am very satisfied with the watch and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to a well-built watch. This watch does all the things other watches do; however, it provides a different style compared to what is available or what most other people use. It is compatible with iPhone 17 pro. Just that alone made sense for me and it is perfect.

I have only owned two other smart watches before. The other watches were good but this one is my favorite so far. It is so sleek and simple. The buttons are easy to push while on or off my wrist. The buttons also are spaced apart in a way that, when I bend my wrist while wearing the watch, they don't get pressed. That's a huge plus cause my other ones always get pressed on accident. The face has a great, well lit screen with great clarity. The screen can be finicky and a bit sensitive sometimes but it's tolerable. The band is a typical silicone type band that works with it but I do wish it was a little bit longer. The menu is very easy to navigate and pairing it with the app was fairly simple. I like how well the Zepp app and the watch work together. Syncing new faces or updates is quick and pretty effortless. I like how my daily steps, heart rate and other information is displayed. It has so many different workout options ranging from easy to intense. I'm still using the novice ones for now. Overall, this is a great watch and has been a wonderful tool for my weight loss journey.

This watch comes with the band, watch and charger. You will need a USB-C cable to plug into the charger, as this does not come with one.
Setting up the watch is easy with the free Zepp app that is needed for either iOS or Android phones. Download the app, set up an account and follow the instructions to add your Amazfit watch to your profile.
With the app you are able to monitor your vitals, check your activity logs and even set up different watch faces. I like that you are able to change the watch face. I have mine set up so that I can view steps taken, heart rate, calories burned, date, time and even battery level.
This watch is lightweight and comfortable to wear day or night. The display is bright and easy to view and the sapphire glass is scratch resistant so you may not need a cover for the watch face. The watch is made with a stainless steel case, which makes it very durable. I am allergic to many metal, so this is very important to me.
I am the type of person that never gets enough sleep and gets it in when I can. With other smart watches, they will not add up the total sleep throughout the day and only show the latest nap I took. This app takes that into consideration and totals my entire sleep.
The watch has built in GPS, so you can track your route, pace and distance in real time. This works especially well if you have your phone with you also, which I do, so I can listen to music while walking my daily route.
If you are looking for a smart/fitness watch that doesn’t break the bank, this may be just what you are looking for. It offers a light weight, well made, durable watch that I have found to work great for me.

A Great Smartwatch That Punches Above Its Price

After wearing the Amazfit Active 3 Premium in Silver for the past several weeks, I can confidently say this is one of the best value smartwatches I've owned. Whether you're a beginner runner, a hybrid-training enthusiast, or just someone who wants a stylish daily companion with real fitness chops, this watch delivers an experience that feels far more premium than its price tag suggests.
The first thing that struck me out of the box was how substantial this watch feels on the wrist. The 45mm stainless steel case has real heft and a cool, refined finish that photographs don't quite do justice — it looks far more expensive than it is. Despite the metal case, it stays lightweight and comfortable enough for all-day wear, including sleep tracking, without ever feeling bulky or fatiguing on the wrist. The four physical buttons are a nice touch too; navigating menus and starting workouts without relying purely on the touchscreen is genuinely convenient, especially with sweaty fingers.
The display is where this watch really earns its "Premium" name. It's a 1.32-inch AMOLED screen protected by sapphire glass, and at up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, it stays perfectly legible in direct sunlight — something a lot of watches in this price range genuinely struggle with. Indoors, the colors are vivid and the resolution is sharp enough that text and graphs never feel cramped or pixelated. Scratches simply haven't been an issue, even after weeks of doorframes, and the occasional significant bump.
Fitness and health tracking is really where the Active 3 Premium shines. The built-in GPS locks on quickly and has tracked my (now walking/speed-walking after a traumatic injury) routes accurately, even in areas with tall buildings and tree cover where GPS watches often lose precision. I was especially impressed by the advanced speed-walking/running metrics — lactate threshold estimation, running (but is still accurate for speed-walking) power, and ground contact time are the kinds of features I expected only on watches costing two or three times as much. Paired with Zepp Coach's adaptive training plans, the watch has actually helped me structure my speed walking instead of just recording it, offering useful guidance on effort and pacing rather than dumping raw numbers on me and calling it a day.
The 24/7 health monitoring covers all the bases: heart rate, blood oxygen, stress levels, and sleep tracking all run quietly in the background and sync cleanly to the Zepp app. The BioCharge energy readiness feature has become something I check every morning due to my injury — it does a surprisingly good job of nudging me toward a lighter day when my body actually needs recovery (and have something other than "I've over-done it to rub in Physical Therapies face) rather than just pushing through a scheduled workout. For anyone dabbling in strength training or studio classes alongside speed-walking, the watch handles that hybrid mix well too, with well over a hundred sport modes to choose from.
I've become genuinely spoiled by the battery life here. Amazfit's stated figure is up to 12 to 13 days on a single charge, and in my own use — with heart rate tracking always on and a handful of GPS speed-walks mixed in — I've consistently landed in the range of a week to ten days before needing to plug it in. Coming from a smartwatch that needed nightly charging, this has completely changed how I think about wearing it. I no longer have to plan my charging schedule around workouts, and I never have to choose between tracking my sleep and having enough battery left for a morning run.
Beyond fitness, the Active 3 Premium handles daily smartwatch duties well. Smart notifications come through reliably, and Bluetooth calling means I can take a quick call without digging my phone out of my pocket. With onboard storage for offline maps and podcasts, I've been able to leave my phone at home on shorter walks without losing navigation or entertainment, which is a small thing that's made a bigger difference to my routine than I expected. The 5 ATM water resistance also means I haven't had to think twice about wearing it in the shower or through a sudden rainstorm.
The Zepp app pairs the watch smoothly with both Android and iOS, and the interface is clean and easy to navigate without feeling cluttered. Syncing has been quick and reliable, workout summaries are presented clearly, and I appreciate that the software leans into helpful context — like readiness scores and training load — rather than just throwing numbers at you.
The Amazfit Active 3 Premium in Silver manages to combine genuinely premium materials, a gorgeous sapphire AMOLED display, and serious runner-focused features with a battery life that puts many flagship smartwatches to shame — all without the flagship price. It's clearly built with beginner and intermediate walkers/runners in mind, but the depth of its training tools means it won't feel limiting as your fitness goals grow. For anyone hunting for a smartwatch that takes health and fitness tracking seriously while still looking sharp on the wrist every day, this is an easy one to recommend. Excellent value, excellent execution.

The Perfect Balance of Fitness, Style, and Value!

I've been using the Amazfit Active 3 Premium 45mm Smartwatch for several weeks now, and I can honestly say it's one of the best tech purchases I've made in a long time. I was looking for a smartwatch that could help me stay on top of my fitness goals, track my health, and still look professional enough to wear every day, and this watch checks all the boxes.
The first thing that stood out to me was the design. It has a premium look and feel without being overly bulky or heavy. The 45mm size is just right, and the display is bright, sharp, and easy to read whether I'm indoors at work or outside in the sun. I've received several compliments on it already, with people assuming it's a much more expensive smartwatch. What really impressed me, though, is how packed it is with useful features. The health tracking has been incredibly helpful. I use the heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and daily activity tracking regularly, and the data seems accurate and easy to understand. The sleep insights have actually helped me improve my nighttime routine and become more aware of my overall health.
For fitness enthusiasts, this watch is a fantastic companion. It offers a wide variety of workout modes, and the GPS performance has been reliable during walks, runs, and hikes. I love being able to leave my phone in my pocket and still have detailed workout tracking available right on my wrist. The metrics are easy to access and provide plenty of information without feeling overwhelming.
One of the biggest selling points for me has been the battery life. After years of using devices that seem to need charging every day, it's refreshing to have a smartwatch that can go for days on a single charge. I don't have to constantly think about battery percentage or bring a charger everywhere I go. That convenience alone makes a huge difference in everyday use.
The user interface is smooth and responsive, and navigating through the menus feels intuitive. Pairing with my phone was simple, and the companion app provides a clear, organized view of all my health and fitness data. Notifications come through reliably, allowing me to stay connected without constantly checking my phone. Another feature I enjoy is the customization. There are plenty of watch faces to choose from, making it easy to personalize the watch based on my style or mood. Whether I'm heading to the gym, the office, or out for the evening, the watch looks appropriate in every setting.
Overall, the Amazfit Active 3 Premium 45mm Smartwatch delivers an impressive combination of style, performance, health tracking, and battery life at a very reasonable price. It's rare to find a smartwatch that does so many things so well without costing a fortune. If you're looking for a dependable, feature-rich smartwatch that looks great and performs even better, I highly recommend giving this one a try. It has exceeded my expectations in every way and has become a device I wear every single day.

Over two weeks of battery life and looks great

My current watch only lasts about 2+ days (and less when I run). I picked up the Amazfit Active 3 Premium to help log my runs and daily training when travelling so I don’t need to bring an extra charger. It is not an expensive watch, so I didn’t expect much, but it has really exceeded my expectations.
The battery life is outstanding. I am over 2 weeks on a single charge with daily tracking and continuous monitoring enabled – I didn’t even know this level of battery life was possible given my experience with watches has never lasted more than 3 days. Even though I run 3 to 5 miles every few days, I expect that I’ll be able to get a couple of week minimum, which is exactly what I was looking for. When I run, the GPS locks on fast and maps my routes accurately. My music is paired to my earbuds through this new watch so this is very consistent with my regular watch.
Swapping bands is simple. I was able to confirm that because the Amazfit uses the pin style watch band connection, that I could use my old Samsung bands again (glad I didn’t dispose of them). I swapped the stock band for a breathable nylon sport loop for running, with a leather band for everyday wear. The stock band looks great as well, and it’s great to have choices.
And along those lines, this watch looks GREAT. It’s light, thin, and the display is sharp. It’s easily readable in bright sun and the app has a huge catalog of cool watch faces, ranging from clean, classic faces to digital layouts showing real time heart rate, steps, and recovery metrics.
All of my primary apps (messages, zoom, email) work flawlessly, where I can check them right on the watch face, and I’m notified upon arrival.
The one item that I struggle with that my Samsung account won’t incorporate all of the sleep statistics. While I don’t need this, I like having everything logged under my Samsung account. I have used work arounds but it’s incomplete, so that is my one mild disappointment. It does pull back into my google fit account, so it is logged in an account (if that matters).
It delivers a great mix of durability, running navigation, and battery performance that I was looking for. Even with some of the app items that don’t quite work perfectly for me, this watch is incredible and I will definitely use when travelling.

GOOD
- Setup is easy
- Doesn't prompt for a subscription or premium service
- On-board storage for maps and music
- Lots of pre-programmed exercise modes
- Lots of extra features considering the price
- Integrates data tracking with lots of fitness services
BAD
- Somewhat bulky and heavy
- Lots of customization options and health tracking metrics can overload those new to advanced fitness trackers
TLDR
The Active 3 Premium may well be the most feature-rich smart watch under $200. It easily competes with watches and trackers costing almost twice as much. While I wouldn't describe it as bulky, the watch is bigger and heavier than a lot of other wearables. It also has a lot of options, configurations, and features that may be a bit overwhelming for those new to smart watches.
DETAILS
I got this for my wife as her first smart watch. She'd had a few simple health trackers before, like early Fitbits, but nothing on this level.
Setup was simple. You have to create a Zepp account if you don't already have one. But you don't need to provide any info more senstive than your name and email address. It doesn't even ask for your full birthdate, only month and year alone. And though Zepp does offer premium services, never was I prompted to subscribe to anything or provide any kind of payment information.
The Active 3 has normal smart watch features that you would expect. All phone notifications can be mirrored to the watch so you can see when text messages, phone calls, emails, and other app toasts come up. You can also accept calls directly on the watch as an external Bluetooth headset/speaker. Lots of different watch faces are available for you to customize your view and track the info you use most. If anything, it might be a little too much for someone new to smart watches. The included manual is rather stark and you have to look online for an extended manual and instructions on how to customize everything.
Though the watch only works through the Zepp mobile app, it does integrate with other big fitness tracking services like Strava and shares info with Apple and Google health. The Active 3 goes beyond just the regular health info like steps and heart rate and tracks things like VO2 max and exercise recovery. It also has on-board storage that allows not just music, but also offline maps. These kinds of things are often restricted to more expensive watches or those requiring a subscription plan.
Battery life is quite good as you can get almost week out of one charge even with heavy use. You can maybe stretch it to 10 days, but I think the claimed 12 day is too much ( maybe if you just left it on a table and it did nothing ). The GPS radio really hammers the battery, though. If you leave it on all the time, you'll need to charge the watch every day. Personally, I don't find daily charging that big of deal since it's simple to just charge the watch in the morning while you're showering and getting ready. Yes, the Active 3 is waterproof, even to the point you can swim with it, but it's not like I can't part with it for 30 mminutes while showering, getting dressed, and brushing my teeth.
My wife likes the food scanner function on the Zepp and finds it handy in tracking her eating and intake. However, she says she hasn't found anything where she can track her water consumption. She also likes how many pre-set activity tracking functions it has for walking, running, and nearly everything else. Though again, she does have problems finding where to set things like preferred heart rate zone and a few other settings to make her exercise tracking more tailored to her.
In all, this seems like a dang good watch for only $170ish. This would probably still be a good watch around the $250 range. If you're not put off by the slightly larger size and aren't afraid to dive into multiple tutorials to get it configured just for you, this may be one of the better smart watches for the money.

Amazfit - Active 3 Premium 45mm Smartwatch - Silver offers body metric tracking, including vital signs, blood oxygen levels, workout tracking, step counting, and so much more. You can also receive calls and make calls from your wrist just like any other smartwatch. You can get text notifications, but you can't respond from the watch itself.
The Sapphire AMOLED Display is customizable with your own images and is bright and vivid. It also features a remote control function for your phone's camera so that you can take amazing selfies right from your wrist.
The GPS stores offline maps, so your training does not require your phone, and it has amazing battery life. I wear it at night to track my sleep patterns, and it works well; I haven't had to charge it in 3 days.
AMAZFIT provides very accurate step counts and data I've never seen before nor thought I would care about. It also has a thermometer, a compass, and a very loud speaker for a wristwatch. But I still wear headphones.
It has a very nice companion app and nice built-in workouts, and you can also add more in the app. It also picked up my stress level immediately when a stressful situation came up at work, and it automatically detected my snooze in the break room and recorded the data.
This watch brings blood oxygen levels, stress levels, sleep patterns, and calorie burn to the forefront for someone who's always thought I was on top of my physical fitness and health.
All my club members now want an Amazfit watch, and I am in a running club.

This feels of quality. In the hand it is a nice big size which enhances the already amazing display. On the wrist, I barely feel it is there. The touch screen is very responsive and I can get to all the functions without using the buttons. At my age I remember when computers that didn't do a 10th of what this is capable of filled a room. Packed into this stylish stainless steal body is a sapphire glass crystal, 1.32" AMOLED display, and 4 gigs of memory. This gives you the ability to download free maps and music. The GPS allows you to know where you are on said maps and because of the display size it is easy to see where you are! In addition this will automatically reroute you on its own without the phone!
Pairing with Bluetooth was easy and the app is intuitive. I love how you can get all your notifications as they come in too. You can adjust settings so only the one's you want will come through. Battery life is great with a claim of up to 12 days. I recharge after about 10 just because I am OCD but it is nice not worrying about running out of juice on a long weekend away from home.
My only beef is that it has a proprietary charging "puck" instead of wireless or USB C. Though this puck is large enough to more easily keep track of than some others I have had. The puck, at least, takes USB C and seats easily to the underside to get the juice flowing.
I cant think of any additional health or workout monitoring that could be more helpful than what is included.

I’m coming at this as a person who doesn't track fitness details all that closely but is interested in having a way to tell time that also includes features like a step tracker, timer, etc. In the week or so I’ve had it, I've been very happy with it.
The battery life is quite good. Out of the box, it had about 50% charge, and after fully charging it, I've had to charge it again only once in the 10 days I have owned it. In addition to doing well the features I would specifically seek, like the pedometer, it has other features that I appreciate, like a pomodoro timer and a feature that makes your phone make a sound so you can find the phone if you misplace it, which I often do. It's comfortable to wear as well.
I wouldn't mind more customization options, like choosing which metrics it shows on the watch face. One of the standard ones, hrv (heart rate variability), has to do with sleep, and I don't wear it when I sleep. So that's kind of wasted space. I’m still looking for a way to customize the face further.
Overall, it’s an attractive watch that gets the occasional compliment or question from friends, it does the basics very well (tell time!), and the fitness features are what I want and then some. I expect to use more of them over time.

Great For Fitness, Weak as a Smart Watch
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Very cool watch on paper. The specs and the price look great, but I have had some issues that would be dealbreakers for me, especially after using Samsung Galaxy watches for several years. With that said, I must stress that this watch is not designed to replace a Galaxy Watch or an Apple Watch. Its target audience is fitness enthusiasts, and I think it hits that target almost perfectly, though with some caveats. If you are coming from a traditional smartwatch and expecting that same type of daily depth and smart features, you might be disappointed.
Getting everything set up takes some time and can be a bit complex given the sheer number of health metrics it tracks. You really need to wear the watch 24/7 to get the most benefit out of it, and it takes at least a week for the app to build a complete profile of your activities and accurately chart your measured metrics.
The build quality, bright OLED display, sapphire crystal, battery life, and overall comfort are all excellent. It feels very comfortable on the wrist for extended wear. Navigating features directly from the watch face is smooth and easy, and there is a generous selection of watch faces to choose from. Initial setup starts off simply by scanning a QR code to download the app, though the app did get hung up on the notification setup screen on my Galaxy S25 Ultra and required me to skip that step.
Navigating the Zepp app itself can be confusing, and I personally prefer the layout and ease of Samsung Health for everyday tracking. Some initial setup choices in the app are not well explained, and there is no way to go back if you select the wrong setting, meaning you have to hunt through menus to fix it later. Additionally, pairing additional Zepp apps can be tricky because it prompts you to pair the watch again even after it is already connected, and it occasionally asks to point the camera at a device QR code that is nowhere to be found. To make matters worse, the Zepp app constantly nags you with background permission reminders to keep the app open in the phone's background—even after you've already configured your phone's battery settings to allow it. On top of that, be aware that some of the more advanced software features, such as personalized training plans and deep analytics, are locked behind a paid subscription rather than being fully included out of the box.
When it comes to health features, there are plenty of options and routines to choose from, including blood oxygen levels, heart rate, and step tracking. However, manual blood sugar logging is currently broken because the SAVE button remains grayed out regardless of what you enter.
Notification delivery is another area where it falls short for daily use. Do Not Disturb (DND) is not turned on, yet incoming alerts remain hit-or-miss. Text messages and emails will occasionally make the watch buzz, but apps like Telegram and Messenger show up silently on the watch without any haptic vibration at all. Furthermore, when a text message arrives, the message text does not display on the screen automatically meaning you cannot simply glance down at your wrist while driving to read it. Instead, you have to manually swipe down on the display to view incoming messages or missed call alerts.
Overall, while the hardware and fitness tracking depth are impressive for dedicated workout routines, the clunky app navigation and notification flaws make it less appealing as an everyday smartwatch replacement.
