got the 2nd gen dot and found the sound quality to be horrible. this 3rd gen dot still isn't perfect, but quality is much improved and worth the price difference for sure.

I needed a virtual assistant for a room in my house and thought I would try this Echo Dot. Perfect! Small enough to not interfere with the room decor (although it isn't awful looking if it does show), and just what I needed. Easy setup and easy to use.
