I wanted a Echo Dot with Alexa for playing music in more than one room, being able to ask questions, use as a timer, use as an intercom, etc., etc., etc. I've really been enjoying the 3 I have that I use along with my Echo with Alexa 8". It looks nice without taking up a lot of space. I was fortunate to purchase this Echo Dot on sale.

We love how easy it was to set up and use. Color and size are perfect for our kitchen area.

It was easy to set up, it did what it was supposed to do. Gramma saw one, thought she had to have it. Got it and we had it back in the box a couple of weeks later when she decided it couldn't hear her (or she couldn't hear it). Heard us just fine so we'll put this in the pile with the Kindle and other tech that was apparently too much to deal with

Easy set up. Responsive voice recognition. Quality sound at first. Used very little, was mindful volume level and speaker still busted less than a year after purchasing.

Bought this for my son for Christmas last year. He uses it daily and loves it.

Great buy, user friendly, excellent sound quality.

An overall design improvement for my house. The directional speaker is actually better for me, as I tend to put the dots in corners anyway. The only disadvantage is the included cord is white, despite being a black device. Performs at the level of the 3rd gen devices, far better than 2nd gen. Can be programmed to control your firetv stick/cube, which is convenient when you have small children.

It's a round version of the 3rd generation. It sounds a bit crisper, but overall the same. It has the same size speakers as previous version and it's supposed to be faster, but I'm not noticing any change in speed response. Also it seems not to hear me as well for some odd reason. I notice I have to raise my voice more often than the previous version. Overall it's good. Nothing better than the 3rd generation.
