    Screen is amazing but…

I really hoped that this device could be my one device for both reading and note-taking. But even though the screen is great and colors look better than any other e-ink I’ve seen, the writing experience is awful (it’s even worse than Scribe 2024). The screen surface is much less like paper and much more like glass, so writing on it is similar to any other tablet like an iPad or something.

      Hi vz10,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your experience with this device. I understand your disappointment – when you're hoping for a device that can serve as your all-in-one solution for both reading and note-taking, it's frustrating when the writing experience doesn't meet your expectations.

You raise an important point about the screen surface feeling more like glass than paper, which significantly impacts the writing experience. It's particularly concerning that you found it even worse than the Scribe 2024 for note-taking, despite the improved color display quality. The tactile feedback when writing is crucial for a natural note-taking experience, and a glass-like surface can make it feel more like writing on a standard tablet rather than the paper-like experience many users expect from e-ink devices.

While the color e-ink technology and display quality are impressive advances, it sounds like the trade-off in writing feel makes it not quite right for your specific use case of combining reading and note-taking in one device.

We appreciate your honest feedback about both the strengths (excellent screen and color quality) and limitations (writing experience) of the device, as this helps other customers make informed decisions about whether it will meet their needs. AmazonDevices
