Have spent a few days with the device. It is definitely pricey, but from the user experience point of view, I am pretty happy with the device so far. Here are a few things: 1, The Face ID works well 99% of the time. Pretty responsive, too. For those with glasses I would suggest capture the FaceID with glasses off. 2, I like its front camera portrait mode. Could take much better selfies. The stage lighting portrait effect could use some improvement, though. The rear camera works better than the 8plus/7plus in low light situations, and generally provides greater contrast and details. 3, The size is just right. I feel the 8plus is too big, but this one is just about right. I do prefer the size if used without a case, but there's no way I am doing that. The phone has a sleek look and nice finish. Stainless steel frame gives it some extra shine. 4, It definitely needs a case to protect its fragile glass back. 5, the wireless charging is a plus. But it charges rather slowly, since I mostly use the iPad USB charger. 6, the OLED screen is gorgeous. Better images all together. Apple says it helps save battery life. I will see about that. Verdict: if you are on the fence between 8Plus/8 and X and have the extra budget to spare, go with the X.

This phone is absolutely amazing with an amazing camera. The detail is perfect. I upgraded my phone in time for a trip to Iceland and was beyond impressed by the pictures. The phone is very user friendly as usual and the extras like facial recognition are a nice added feature. The “notch” took some getting used to, but I don’t even notice it anymore. I do wish I could put the battery percentage on the battery again, but it’s not a huge deal.

Great battery life and the most advanced camera I’ve used on a art phone. I use a lot of professional cameras (Canon, RED, etc.) and this phone has one that is perfect if i don’t want to lug around a big DSLR!

Once you get use to the edge to edge screen you simply won’t be able to go back to the boxy old screens with big black block frames, no wasted screen space!

Everything Is marvelous but the CAMERA is OUT OF THIS WORLD !!! It’s like DSLR. Took pix during our vacay & the iPhone X is doing its job just like my cousin’s $6,000 sigma lens. Worth every penny. Unedited pictures below. It’s easy to use too... ❤️❤️❤️

I was coming from an iPhone 6 Plus originally that just so happened to have screen damage the month I paid it off (typical) so instead of getting it repaired, I reverted back to my iPhone 5 (regular) and said I'd wait for the next release. Since the X was announced alongside the 8/8 Plus, I opted to wait even longer for the X and I'm glad I did. The look of the phone is top notch and the quality is definitely solid. Keep in mind I'm coming from something much older where the quality standards, while high at the time, pail in comparison to today's iPhone. I've had the iPhone X for six days now and don't even remember what using that Home button (that I've been using since the iPhone 3GS) is like. You'll forget it soon enough, too. The gestures are still very natural. I always hated how large the Plus model felt in my hands as doing anything "one-handed" was impossible, even using reachability. I feel that the X is a great balance between the non-Plus models and the Plus models and I did turn on reachability (it is turned off by default) to help reach some of the upper portions of the screen as I like using the phone one-handed. Next to my wife's iPhone 7 Plus, the screen size is virtually the same between the two, while the X's form factor is overall smaller, which is real nice. The "notch" along the top edge of the screen isn't an issue for me, as it seems to be for some. Within time, third-party apps will adopt the new resolution and everything will be seamless when switching applications. I have no qualms about the display's brightness either, as I find myself setting it to the lowest setting quite frequently. It's very bright! The only con I would give for the screen is that the refresh rate is lower than I expected, as I sometimes catch the screen flicker slightly with the naked eye as the oLED refreshes. I've never had Touch ID, so I cannot legitimately compare it to Face ID, but I can say that Face ID is very quick and intuitive. It was easy to setup and can be reset easily if desired. With Face ID, if there are notifications present and someone picks up your phone, they can only see what app is pushing the notification. The instance they hand the phone to you and you look at it, the specific notifications populate fully, which is nice if you're getting a text message that is for your eyes only. The only con (if you would call it that) I would give for Face ID is if your phone is sitting on a flat surface (such as a desk) and you're sitting next to it, your face is not within range of the sensor, so you have to either move into view/lift the phone into view, or enter the backup passcode to unlock the device. The speed is blazingly fast compared to my previous phones by far, while the battery life smashes any other iPhone I've had. I haven't charged it wirelessly so can't comment on that. I'll likely wait until Apple releases their own charging pad so I can use it with my Apple Watch. The sound output kinda blew me away too, as I've been finding myself turning it down, when I'm used to turning it up in the past. I don't care that they dropped the audio jack, as it's a wireless world we live in today. Thankfully for those of you who do require the audio jack, they include a Lightning to 3.5mm dongle adapter. As far as the camera, I was able to take amazing photos at a car show over the weekend, and the 4K video is stunningly crisp and smooth with it's dual stabilizing camera sensors. I'm in love with my phone again, and it's been awhile. The price I feel is fair in today's market. Yes, I paid $150 extra for the 256GB, but feel it's still very much worth the up-charge when the base only comes with 64GB. Photos, songs and videos add up quick, not to mention apps. The payment plan with your carrier makes it a little easier to swallow, and isn't much more than what my iPhone 6 Plus cost monthly back when it was new. I recommend Apple Care Protection, which can be purchased separately up to 60 days after original purchase date. Get a phone cover and screen protector on-the-double! Best Buy has many options available and I bought both a moderate, slimline cover and a durable, more bulky cover, as well as a glass screen protector. You'll want to protect this investment for sure. In short, if you've been holding out for three (or more) years like me, then this is definitely the iPhone you want to get. You will not be disappointed!

This was my first IPhone purchase and I have really enjoyed it. I still think the galaxy camera is better. I have seen them side by side at a concert and the galaxy performed much better especially with low light and stage light changes.

I am not going to get into all of the specs, features, etc like other reviewers. I'm sure if you're looking at the iPhone X, you have at least a general idea of those things. Instead I will just discuss the main issues I have with the iPhone X. I have had mine for about a week and upgraded from an iPhone 7 Plus. When I picked up the X in the store, I was excited and couldn't wait to get my new toy home to play with it. Immediately after unboxing it and putting it next to my 7+, I was disappointed to find out that while the working space on the screen is larger, the phone is actually smaller. Smaller, like the size of the iPhone 7. I must have missed that when Apple unveiled it and the numerous blogs that I've read. I have had the larger iPhone since the 6+ and have gotten accustomed to it and really have no interest in going back to something smaller. This would be the perfect phone if it were the same size as my 7+. I love the Face ID and have had no problems with it unlocking my phone. The cameras are great. There is a bit of a learning curve with the gestures, but all in all it works great once you get used to it. Animoji's are fun, but not a must for me. Setup is easy when upgrading from another iPhone. You literally use the camera to transfer passwords and data and then you download your apps either from iCloud or iTunes. Overall, this is a great phone, but if size matters (phone size that is), you might want to consider the 8+ unless you have a 7+ in which case, I wouldn't upgrade.

I’ve been using this phone for a little over 2 weeks now and finally feel ready to review it. First, if you’re familiar with iPhones you will have to go through a learning curve to get used to the changes in how you’ll need to use gestures to do what you’ve been used to doing before now. Don’t worry though...you adjust quicker than you can imagine and will find yourself “forgetting” how to do things the old way when you pick up an older iPhone afterwards lol. Losing the home button is not as traumatic as some seem to think. Face ID is fast and has been pretty spot on for me. Coming from a Plus model will take some time to adjust to. You will feel like the phone is significantly smaller. You’re right to a certain degree. The extra body you’re used to with the top and bottom bezels make you feel like you’re downsizing but you have to remember that the X screen is bigger (technically) so you’re mainly just loosing the extra none usable space (other than the home button since that was absolutely usable). The X screen is longer but slightly less wide the Plus models. As apps slowly start to update and utilize the full screen your experience gets better. Until then some people will complain and want to bail on the X after just a little handling time. Ultimately you’ll have to handle it and see what your patience level is to see if this phone will work for you. The notch...its heavily debated and will bug some people. Again, it’s something you have to gauge for yourself because what bothers you may not bother me (I don’t mind the notch or the size for example). Camera is great as always. Some features are more gimmicky than others (Animoji for example is entertaining but not something I’ll likely use much) but as with every phone on the planet some things are just fun perks that may or may not be used. The glass...has some people extremely nervous. The answer for that is pretty simple...invest in a case if you’re concerned. I personally almost always use a case so it doesn’t bother me. I didn’t have a case for the better part of the past 2 weeks, dropped my phone a couple of times, but didn’t experience any cracks or anything. But I’m generally careful with my devices so I’ve never experienced a crack (knock on wood). I would suggest investing in AppleCare or insurance if you’re worried about repairs though because the cost is more expensive than ever (check the Apple website for info). Again, that’s a judgement call. It’s not a requirement but if you know you tend to be rough on your devices and don’t want to have to pay expensive repair fees you would benefit from getting AppleCare or some other coverage. Ultimately, I truly enjoy my upgrade to the X. No issues so far. The size is great to me but yes, it took some time to get used to. The gestures are super easy. And Face ID has been more accurate than Touch ID for me (not that Touch ID was a problem. It just had issues registering my fingerprint at least twice a day. FaceID has only failed me if my eyes weren’t open or if the phone isn’t able to see my face because of where I am when it tries to scan me). But overall I enjoy the X and think it was a perfect upgrade for me.
