Is it expensive for a monitor? Absolutely! Is it worth it? I guess that depends on what you use your monitor for. It’s definitely the BEST and most expensive monitor I’ve owned so hopefully it will last many years to come.

Excellent display. Only complaint is that the refresh rate is not 120hz and it should be an oled panel. Great otherwise.

This is a fantastic professional quality monitor for creative professionals who need color accuracy, high resolution, and increased screen real estate. This is not intended for casual users who perform basic tasks like email, web browsing, or spreadsheets. That being said, those things look AMAZING on this display, as my wife now loves plugging in her MacBook Pro to this display and working from home. This display has absolutely changed how I work, and how I manage my tasks. The family has also gravitated towards the Pro Display, and this is now our favorite screen in the house. Absolutely worth the price and the quality and design is fantastic, which is expected from Apple.

I wish other companies could compete and that Apple would bring some of the XDR’s features to other products like the iMac. Auto rotate is amazing when working in something like Pages, as it gives you so much more room. The retina clarity at this size is game changing for me. I just wish you could buy a non hyper-bright xdr variant for less. Also, the stand should actually come to the imacs and/or get a vesa adapter such that you can use its stand with other vesa products. The m1 imacs have a beautiful stand, that is not at all ergonomic (too short). Were it possible, I’d plop a vesa m1 imac on a pro stand for the height. There are stands that have vesa capability out there, they just look like trash. The pro display is too expensive, but that’s because there isn’t enough competition out there. No other company seems to think retina displays are important, making 4k panels that are too large and prioritize high refresh rates. Essentially, the market is divided between gamers and bog-standard office workers, neither of which seem to understand or care about resolution. If you work in graphics of practically any kind, this monitor will turn you into Smeagol in less than five minutes as there is simply nothing like it out there (the dell 8k is higher resolution and ppi, but about the same price and housed in garbage plastic). Oh, don’t buy the nano texture. Look up ebay resale figures for both and you’ll see a trend. For anyone who stares at a screen all day, they are the work truck or shoes - the thing that can make a huge difference in comfort and utility, but is priced that way. I still have my thunderbolt displays this many years on, only have passed them down to others in the household. Point being - this is a ten year+ monitor.

As soon as Apple announced this I knew I wanted one. I should have just bought one. I waited almost 3 years and I have been MISSING OUT! I work in Real Estate and my background is tech. I am in spreadsheets, reports, and looking at high res images all day long. This is the BEST monitor I've ever experienced. LOVE IT.

Love this monitor. Thought long and hard about this purchase and I'm glad I made the decision.

Haven't seen anything else that compares and/or works with IOS consistently.

I own one. Everyone seems to love to beef on this thing solely because of the price, which is pretty childish honestly. This display is the best you can get for the money, hands down. As another reviewer said, it is on par with mastering monitors that are 5 times the cost. If you are a creative professional, this is a great investment, you'll never look at other monitors the same. Are there other budget options that look great? Yeah. But none that can do true HDR at 1500 nits peak brightness while being darn near perfectly color correct...or even close to it.

Fantastic - this product is built for pros and for specific tasks. There of course are lesser priced displays for everyday use. Something to keep in mind. This display is amazing and a great next step from the Thunderbolt Display.

I have had this for 2 weeks and love it. Yes, it is expensive. But, if you stare at your screen for 40+ hours a week, it is worth it. The stand is worth the extra amount if you just want a simple and solid solution. No regrets on purchasing it at all. I have found that things like this are expensive, but end up lasting and providing more than enough value.

Comparable color grading monitors cost >$40k. This monitor is probably not for you, unless you are a creative who needs a perfect monitor.

I don't care what your profession is, there are better options out there for a price no where near as ridiculous. You can create just as well or better without this.

You can’t go wrong when they throw in a free polishing cloth for $5k. The stand is another $1k.

Oh wait... that will be another $1k. More expensive then the pixel count lol!
