I owned the previous Apple TV, and just decided to get this one for a different TV. It takes a little while to get used to the new remote. The touch controls make the first day or two difficult to figure out if you're used to the old Apple TV remote, but once you get the hang of it, it's great. It makes rewinding and fast-forwarding very easy. It's also excellent that there's a single button to take you back to the main screen. Apple has needed that for a while. It's very nice to be able to download apps and games compared to just the standard Apple TV list of apps. But it still seems like the app developers are still figuring the new Apple TV out; a lot of the controls on certain apps and games are clunky, and the Comedy Central app often sticks on one screen no matter what button I press...and I have to uninstall and the reinstall the app to be able to use it again. If you already own an Apple TV , this isn't a huge improvement on the previous gen of the Apple TV just yet; unless you really want to play games via the remote or use some of the handful of apps only available on the new version, you're not gaining all that much. But if you're new to an Apple TV, this is the one to get.

Great picture, awsome features, super fast and easy to use

Ive had the old apple TV for a while now along with a chrome cast, and the past few months neither of them have been used. My 4k tv has all the features apple tv has including screen mirroring and of course netflix hulu and youtube. The ease of using my regular TV remote instead of having to launch the ap on my phone or find the apple tv remote and switch HDMI ports meant I would often default to my TV's smart functions over using apple tv or chrome cast. This update adds new tvOS features that adds aps and games to the other smart suite. The whole experience feels polished, from siri remote having strong voice controls and a nice trackpad feel in the hand and the aerial screensaver which you can download on a daily basis if you want. Im sure as developers start to support tvOS we will get lots of new aps and games that make this format even more fleshed out. Now there is enough reason for me to fire up the apple tv rather than my TV's smart suite, and right out of the box the siri remote even controlled my TV's volume. its not perfect, there are a few things that really should be fixed with a software update. My biggest gripe is with setup, I log into my iTunes account, why do I have to also log into all of the aps. Shouldn't it be able to share my login for netflix hbo go and youtube from my iTunes account? The setup took forever. Next, siri remote really needs homekit access, she can't turn my lights off and on. Also, why can't I use siri to skip to the next song? For a first generation tvOS device, its still worth the upgrade. Don't bother with the 64gb, the 32gb will do just fine. Just remember theres no 4k support yet so we'll likely have to upgrade again when that version comes out.

The latest Apple TV is finally the one we've been waiting for. Not only is the interface intuitive and smooth, but the video playback experience is amazing. Just a day before I purchased the AppleTV, I attempted to playback videos from my PC to TV via a Chromecast and got horrible stuttering. Testing the AppleTV with the same video was my first test after purchasing it and it passed with flying colors. Aside from the video playback, the new appstore is very promising and even the apps freely available thus far look incredible considering they are FREE!! All in all, I'm extremely happy with my purchase and recommend the latest AppleTV to anybody who has been on the fence during the last few years.

The new Apple TV interfaces with all your Apple products perfectly. You do not even need to own any other Apple products to enjoy the new Apple TV because you have access to the app store to expand your viewing and gaming pleasure. Added bonus the new remote includes Siri so you can ask it to search anything.

I bought this Apple TV so that I could use AirPlay with my MacBook Pro and my iPhone 6 on my tv and to use Netflix. I was a little dissapointed that Amazon was not included and the one feature I would love the most is that is not included would be integration with my current cable set top box. Would love to be able to have it plugged into my cable so that it would be and all in one interface without the need for switching back and forth from cable to Apple TV a feature that I see coming in the future of the copyrights could get worked out. Overall I love my Apple TV. It runs extremely smooth setup wirelessly through my 5ghz 802.11AC router. Streaming video is SUPER fast. There aren't very many decent games yet as I would hoped there would be but that's not a huge deal. I got the 32 GB hard drive instead of 64. I do not see spending another 50 bucks for space I will not need. If your are interested in buying an Apple TV in hopes of replacing your cable with it. That I DO NOT RECCOMEND. MOST OF THE APPS THAT STREAM TV LIKE CBS, NBC, ESPN etc. require you to log in through your cable provider to prove you have a subscription. They don't offer a set subscription through Apple TV. You must have cable or satellite in order to use those apps. But if your looking to buy it so that you can make your TV your computer monitor so to speak using AirPlay or to easily use Netflix. This is for you. As I said there is not an Amazon app to be downloaded however you can open the Amazon app on your phone and it has a nice integrated AirPlay function within the app so that you can watch it through your Apple TV through AirPlay. I am an owner of the previous generation Apple TV, and this is an upgrade in essentially every way. The interface is better and the remote is snappier and more functional. The lack of 4K is a bit of a bummer, however there is so little 4K content right now that it is not a deal-breaker for me.

I have had every version of Apple TV 1 through 4. This version is a big improvement. The App Store is great and has a lot of entertainment apps and games. We play several games. Plex app is great for streaming my movie and tv show library stored on my computer. Overall a very speedy device.

For years I have wanted an Apple TV mainly for the AirPlay Mirroring and Netflix. I finally decided to break down and buy the latest Gen device and I must say that it's not regretted at all. I bought the 32 GB one because I didn't need the extra space really and 50 bucks wasn't worth difference. It is very fast and responsive just like ALL Apple devices and it runs very smoothly without much buffer (loading). I almost bought the last gen Apple TV but I figured I'd go ahead and get the newer one since it has a newer better remote with Siri which makes it very easy to rewind/fast forward movies Etc. very simple setup also as is with ALL Apple devices. The o my downfall was that it did not come with a HDMI cable which nothing does anyways but I had an extra lying around. Overall I gave this product 4 stars. Would have given it five if it would have had integration with my current set top cable box to where I could seamlessly switch from cable back to Apple TV without much effort. Would love to have my cable box connected Into Apple TV and have it upload the cable guide into Apple TV. Other than that I can't think of anything else that I would like in it. Overall I'm very pleased! If you are interested in buying one but are on the ropes. If you have other Apple products that you can use AirPlay with than its for you. There is also no Amazon Prime video app available on the App Store so you have to use it on your phone/computer and AirPlay mirror it through your Apple TV which isn't to bad. Thanks Amazon for having a mirroring feature for us to be able to do that. Good luck and hope you enjoy!

We have used AppleTV from the get go. This is a very nice upgrade to the interface adding a great touch remote and SIRI for voice commands. Apple gets it right on this one. Lots of fun to use and really easy to set up! And now we can listen to Apple Music via the TV very easily.

Love the new remote and access to the App Store. I was unsure if it would be worth the additional $ for the new version, but now I know. The Netflix app is much faster than Dish version and the AirPlay is an awesome feature we use all the time to watch videos from my iPhone.

I wasn't sure if I would really use Apple TV, but I'm so glad I have it. It is easy to set up and use and has all the apps I need in one place. I also like that I can use AirPlay and watch videos I have saved on my computer on my TV.

I recently upgraded from the last Apple TV model to this one. I love having Siri as an option. I also love how you can see every service a program is streaming on. Lots of new apps! Very easy to use and the new remote is much better.

Got this so the family could stream easily. Was easy to install. When you turn it on, it loads fast. I really like the new interface and new remote design. It's like a track pad. Love having Siri (voice command). Makes it so easy.

I had 3rd gen apple TV previously and this one blows it away. The new interface is a little odd in that you have to pull everythign down from the app store where theold version had everything already on it - but because it's the app store there are a ton more options. Other than the noticable speed difference, the most pleasenat improvement is with the remote. SO much better. The ability to speak login and password information is amazing. We cut the cord in January and have never looked back. Highly recommend.

Works great, I like the voice (siri) guides. Some of my gripes: No 4k, No amazon prime video app, the remote can be a little sensitive, Apple blocks screen mirroring from the comcast/xfinity streaming app. I don't see a huge difference in features from the old apple tv, mainly games and downloadable apps. I think the price could be lower.

The Apple TV looks and works great, and has an awesome interface. Siri works wonderfully and the remote is really nice. The only frustrations are the onscreen keyboard and the current inability to use a Bluetooth keyboard.

I had the previous gen and this is clearly faster, smoother and more robust. The touch pad control is nice but a bit of a gimmick right now. It can be frustrating to use by going to far one way or the other. The unit has froze on us several times already but think the next update will stop that hopefully. Siri works well though.

I had the older generation apple tv and it worked great, but with new voice commands and an app store, this one just adds greatness on top. Plus it is much faster switching between apps and also using airplay.

I purchased the new Apple TV as an upgrade to my existing Apple TV 3rd Generation. While i like some of the new features such as the remote and the upgrades interface, the new apple tv isn't that different (yet) than the last generation. For those wondering if they should upgrade, maybe you can wait. I imagine that when new apps are readily available, this new version will be miles ahead of the old tech and competition but now, its great but not miles ahead of the 3rd Gen Apple TV.
