Simple and Effective Home Surveillance System
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Arlo Pro 2 (it is important to get the Pro 2 cameras if you want 1080p resolution, otherwise, the Arlo Pro has less video resolution) is a simple and effective home surveillance system. The product is of good quality, the installation (including the mobile set-up) is easy, and the product does what it claims to do. The only recommendation I have for Best Buy and Netgear is to include, or at least make available for purchase in-store, the long outdoor USB-C cables and AC charging blocks. I have my Arlo cameras plugged in all of the time so that I don't have to worry about the battery dying while I am away on a long trip (I also don't have to remember to re-charge them).

Cameras are great but Arlo’s system is not
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cameras are great. Really clear picture, easy to set up, easy to change batteries, easy to connect to WiFi/hub.......BUT......be aware that you HAVE to sign up for a payment plan if you have more than five total Arlo units you are going to want to connect to, even if you have more than one hub. More than five, you pay. Five or less, these are really great.

Works great.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Settled on this system for the wire free, 1080p, night vision, 7day free cloud storage and local storage compatible. Set up was super easy and smooth. Alerts are great sent straight to phone or email and you can instantly play back what occurred. The ability to set up schedules is also great and view live footage away from home and being able to talk through any camera.

Arlo - Pro 2
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a Arlo Camera System for over a year now and decided to upgrade to the Arlo 2 for 1080dp. Picture is better than regular Arlo. The Camera batteries last longer than you would think. But I still plan on running hot wires to some in the future, there is a lag before they pick up motion. So you have to plan on how you place them. They are very easy to install.

Easy setup, good picture.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These were extremely easy to setup and get started using. Battery life is very good for an outdoor camera. The video quality is petty good, but not cinema quality that some expect.

Easy to set up with great quality.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product fir home monitoring. Set up was a breeze and the quality of the images are excellent. Advanced features are available and some of them took a little trial and error to understand but work great overall. Integration into SmartThings was a breeze too.

Nice system at a decent price.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Arlo Pro 2 4-camera system is a very nicely packaged solution. It would be a great product for the average user wanting to deploy either indoor or outdoor cameras rapidly with minimal setup or use of screws. In fact you could probably use extra strength stick tape or hook and loop to adhere the half dome mounts to many surfaces. Now for the downsides: the system requires each camera to communicate with the siren tower. I have signal issues reaching a couple of my cameras which severely limits the effectiveness of the cameras. Additionally, the smart activation does not work properly unless you provide the cameras a full-time power source effectively negating the need for the internal batteries. I am also dissapointed the solution will not operate at all without an Internet connection. Even with a USB drive connected for local storage I am not able to record the video. Finally, one out of four cameras picked up motion but the other three did not see the vehicle parked in the driveway, the person walking past, or the other movements. I have had birds and wind activate the camera but large objects cause an issue. Also, I had to subscribe to their 30 day service to get the full features of the system.

Not bad for starter security camera system
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 1st security camera package. Arlo's initial setup was very good/easy to understand. No problems there. After setup, it was fun to see how they could be used. Since these cameras are now considered "old", I have experience to bring to the review table. Their night/low-lighting usage is not great...maybe a 2/5. And, if running battery-only (not always-AC), the response time that it takes for an alert can be not so great. Battery life IS great though, I think it depends on how many "events" are seen to the camera itself. I've left my cameras in their locations for way over a month without needing a full charge. Daytime video is good quality, but my understanding is Arlo now has full colour night cameras that can talk to the same receiver. These models aren't great for night security if you're concerned about that. I didn't expect it to as digital eyes need at least "some" light to work properly. But the ease of setup gets a + star from me.

Great Wireless Camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this camera system for a little over 1 month. Setup was a bit more of a challenge than I expected for the 1st camera. Once I figured it out, the other cameras were easy to add. Installation of the cameras around my house were fairly easy. I have one camera in a location with so much activity that the battery died within 1 week of setup. Luckily, I had bought the solar panel and set it up once I fully recharged the battery so I wouldn't have to charge it again. Two of my cameras required recharging after 2 weeks. One of my cameras is now down to about 20%, after being installed a month ago. I was disappointed that one of my cameras stopped recording after motion was detected. After searching online, I found that if you removed the battery, then reinstalled the battery, everything returned to working as normal. I like the feature where I can look, in real time, as to what's going on around my house when I'm not home. Video quality is really good during the day. Even at night, while it is black and white, the quality is still pretty good. All in all, I am happy with the purchase, and would recommend this to others.

Great quality!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought a townhouse that backs onto a golf course and wanted to make sure the house was secure and we had all angles covered. Love the quality of video on the cameras. I will say they are a little sensitive and catch little things like the patio umbrella moving slightly so we end up ignoring a lot of alerts but I’d rather have it catching silly things just in case one day we need it to. This was very user friendly and easy to install and set up. Worth the money. We are very happy with them.

Dissapointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am sorely disappointed in this camera setup. With how much the 4 camera kit costs, I would have expected a lot more. The picture quality sure isn't 1080p, night vision quality is terrible, the motion sensor reaction time is terrible, the battery life is poor on any cameras that see any normal activity. The app works okay and the setup was very easy. I threw the box away so I'm stuck with this thing but I warn everyone else, avoid this setup. Also, the Smartthings integration is a joke, the only thing that works with Smartthings is the alarm built in to be base unit.

Good Cameras, Google Home broken, bad support
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A week after I purchased these cameras, I contacted Arlo since the Google Home integration just shows 'Not Responding' whenever the cameras are viewed. The first tech support person didn't know what Google Home was. After 'telling me it was going to be elevated to their level 2 support, when he gave up, they said they would call in a week. 3 weeks later I got an email saying the support case was being closed. I emailed back, and explained it wasn't fixed. I received a call the next day and they walked through the same troubleshooting, then told me that this was a Google issue and I needed to call them. (If you check their forum before you buy, which I did not, this is a large issue that almost everybody using it seems to talk about) I told him that was unacceptable, and I wanted them to pass this to their management since it is a known Arlo issue and false advertising. I was told in 24 hours I would get a call with some more assistance. He then went on to tell me my batteries were low, to which I explained the devices were hardwired with no batteries installed. Since I live in Ohio where it gets colder than 4F, the devices would stop functioning if the battery was low and inserted, even if the devices were wired. He went 'Oh'. So he knew less about their product than I did. 48 hours later the case was closed again. I emailed again with what is going on. The next day received another call saying that they were going to help. Each time, a new rep called, I had to submit images from Google Home showing that everything was synced properly and the message of "Not Responding". It is almost like they keep no records. This lady was very nice and assured me she would call me back in 24-48 hours. 2 weeks later, no call back. At this point, I emailed again explaining the issue and asking for a partial refund since Google Home does not work as advertised. It has been a total of 8 weeks of emails and 5 phone calls, 4 uploads of the same screen shots, and no progress. A couple other things to mention, the live view in Arlo app is delayed a good 5-10 seconds. If you are using this as a baby cam, that isn't going to work. Also, it makes for aiming extremely difficult. Also, if you want to record continuous, you need to purchase their monthly subscription. If you want to record and store for more than 7 days, again, their subscription. The USB drive does not provide any of this support. Video quality is wonderful, the app is OK, and lastly the cameras trigger recording off all the wrong things. I can have somebody deliver a package to the area, and no recording, but the movement of a branch of a bush will cause it to trigger. Bugs, like wasps always trigger. And the website for requesting support is broken.

Arlo Pro 2 - easy to install! Works Great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always wanted a simple and easy to install home security camera system. I finally pulled the trigger when the Arlo Pro 2 system went on sale. It was a great investment! The system is easy to install! It is truly wireless! No power or signal cables to run. The app is simple and easy! The video quality is great, night vision, microphone, 2 way audio, and impressive field of view. It was great peace of mind when we were on vacation being able to check on the house through the Arlo app on the phone. Also, there are times if I don't remember if I closed the garage door. I just log in and check through the Arlo app. For mounting the camera outside, I recommend buying the metal bolt in mounts (sold separately) rather than the ones it comes with. My only complaint is the Line of Sight/Signal range of the base station. It works for what I installed now but if I installed a camera on the opposite side of the house, the wireless connection from the camera to the base station may not work. Recommend placing the base station in a central location.

Almost perfect camera system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on these cameras is amazing! The only negative aspects to them is that the battery dies within a couple of days and the microphone option is delayed and you have to exit out of microphone mode on the app the be able to hear on the cameras end again. The night vision mode works great!

Incredible camers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These cameras are great. The picture is perfect day, or night. It is a giant leap over the previous Netgear Vuezone. I was skeptical of the rechargeable batteries, but they have been up a few weeks and holding their charge. I knock a star off only because of price and the speaker. The speaker is a little iffy for people to understand you at times. The price is quite steep. It makes it difficult to add on additional cameras. However, if you have the cash, it is a great investment.

Very pleased w my purchase.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system was so easy to install and set up. It's very intuitive...it literally prompts you through the setup. YOU MUST HAVE WIFI for this product to work. I love both the quality of the video and audio: color in lighted areas & b/w in dim/low light areas. There is a few seconds d delay to receive the video. I did a month w/o the subscription without any hitches. It will only store 7 days in cloud this way. You could use a USB to manually download as well. I just began the paid monitoring which is up to 30 days. I love the peace of mind of viewing live or watching a recorded clip w audio (w and w/o subscription) on my cell when I'm away. You can also set to various modes easily: armed, disarmed, geofencing and more. It took a week to figure out the geofencing..had to google it..but literally took me 5 mins to set up both cameras once I figured out algorithm. (Not complicated). To use the geofencing option the cameras must literally be plugged in. It is a bit pricey, but you own the equipment. I also got a trial month subscription free after a few weeks. I also just purchased the cloud for $5 month for the next year...sent to me after about 2 months. I plan to purchase more cameras to use outside. I currently just monitor inside as a mom of a fur baby and man-child. It gives me peace of mind. There are other features like 911 and it'll pho e a fam member or friend as well. It can also filter humans only, pets, vehicles, and combinations of the above mentioned. The audio quality is also really clear. I am very pleased w my purchase and would recommend this product to others.

quality picture/ poor function and battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.good: Due to cold weather I put the cameras inside the house for 2 weeks till I could hang them outside. the picture is amazing and has sound recording so that is great. bad: the camera only will record a max of 300 seconds at a time creating many clips in a single event. there is also a lag in the time it takes to starts recording when movement is detected. due to the lag it misses the first part of the movement and since the clips are short there was a lot of missing gaps in the events that happened on camera. also in 2 weeks the high traffic camera was down to 47% and the low traffic camera was down to 80%. for a camera that you have to recharge this battery life is not good. That means if u have a high traffic area u will be charging it once a month or on low traffic once every 3 months.

Easy set up and good way to protect to your home
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ARLO camera system is awesome because it is super easy to set up. I was kind of nervous to buy this but this exceeded my expectations. The cool thing that you put this anywhere around your home and it will catch every movement for about 20 or 30 seconds. It does not cost extra money and it does not wast a lot of internet data because it saves a lot mini videos (depending where you place it at your home). Now you can buy a plan to save your videos past 7 days but if you do not mind 7 days worth of videos then this camera system is right for you. Once you have reached your 8th day of recording then you the first day will be deleted. As a result, save your videos if you find something suspicious in a clip. My only negative and I will end my review here is that the battery on the camera tends to die out pretty quickly. So you have to charge these batteries consistently or you can buy solar panel or a charger that connects to an outlet.
