    Great 2 in 1

After doing a ton of research looking for a thin and light that would meet my needs, I came across this laptop. I am a fan of the quality of ASUS devices, so I purchased even though there were none on display at the store. I couldn't be happier. This thin and light fits perfectly in a small bag and has a tremendous amount of power. Having an i7 and 16GB RAM is exceptional at this price point. The description says it has a fingerprint reader and it does not, however it does support Windows Hello, so just open the laptop and it signs you in with facial recognition. Also, there is a USB-C Hub in the box as well as a pre-paired stylus. With all of this, it's hard to find anything that isn't exceptional about this laptop.

    Great laptop, but over heats

Laptop is great looking, very fast processor and love the tablet mode. I had purchased this laptop for my business. I use it for project presentations and for my contracted journalism work. I only used Microsoft office and internet for researching. After 3 weeks into using the laptop, it started overheating. One time, I just turned off the laptop and it was updating itself and was very hot when I returned a few hours and wouldn't turn on. Two weeks after, the battery was out and I charged it for 3 hours and it wouldn't turn on after full charge. I unplugged it and it was still didn't turn on. The laptop was very hot with the fan running and sounded like it was actually on running a program, but I didn't have the laptop on at all. I had a deadline for a project due and emailed Asus support, but they offered no help. I missed my deadline and didn't get paid for my work, since it was due and I couldn't turn my computer on until 6 hours later with assistance with a my own desk fan blowing on it to cool it off. All I want is the exchange it. Maybe I got an defective unit. Less than 6 weeks and I lost wages because of it.

      Dear Yvonne,

Absolutely, it is a great-looking laptop with fast processing power. I certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused you. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, this is a random problem. Normally, ASUS provides one year warranty coverage, if product was purchased brand-new, in order to fix or repair any hardware or, part that stop working prematurely under normal usage. If you need more information or further assistance with the warranty for the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

      Regards,

      Rodel

    Great, but...

The chassis/build quality is excellent. It even folds into a tablet nicely and the keys underneath feel recessed as if it were meant to be a tablet almost, unlike other laptops. The display is crisp and bright (FHD). The internals are excellent unless one is a power gamer. Battery life seems excellent. I love the trackpad. Of course, the larger SD storage and i7 chip are frosting on the lovely cake. However, the two cons are: 1. Does the fan vent straight down for a reason I cannot figure out? It must be something to do with it being a 2 in 1 so it does not interfere with holding it in tablet mode. She can run hot at times and can be hard to always find a spot where that long fan can vent properly. 2. No auto brightness with the latest Windows update. before, one could go into advanced display settings in Windows and check adaptive brightness. Not anymore. That is a bot frustrating. I like the ide of auto brightness but I wind up always even adjusting that so I am not sure this is a big loss.

    So far, so good

Bought this 13.3 inch ASUS for my son a day or so after Xmas for $899.99--unopened. So far I have been very impressed with the feel of it, as another reviewer said--there's a lot of metal on the case. The 13 inch model is very small--be sure you want a small laptop. I'm not complaining, its just smaller than I thought. One complaint I do have is the lack of a USB 2.0 port. The include an adapter to allow you to plug in a flash drive (actually you can plug in another USB type 3 plug, a HDMI plug, and a USB 2.0 plug all at the same time) but as most flash drives are 2.0 it would be nice to have. So far, the computer is lightening fast and seems sturdy. I love it!

    Idiots designed this hardware

If you want to turn the laptop on it's side to use the screen in portrait mode, you either can't plug it in (port on right) or you will turn it off (power button on left). This is the dumbest design. Why is there a power button to turn OFF your laptop on the left next to the shift/ctrl key? So if you pick it up by the bottom of the keyboard as most humans would do, the design is such that you literally turn OFF the laptop.

    Fantastic laptop, but it creaks

I love this laptop, but my left hinge creaks like a candy wrapper at times and my "p" key on the keyboard is somewhat janky. I'm disappointed by that, but I am happy with the rest of the laptop. It's better than the new asus zenbook 13 especially when it was on sale last week.

    Looks Alot Better in Person

Really adore the backlit keyboard, i7, 16gb mem, and face id login for the price. Only Con is that the Intel 620 will have problems scaling the screen, for third party programs, it would be best to change the display resolution to 125%, or I recommend this youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3w6SaeuCJ_o) and your all set.

Wifi adapter and bluetooth adapter failure

Wireless and bluetooth adapters cooked off after 2 years. ASUS wants $80 plus an undisclosed diagnostic fee just to look at their faulty product after warranty expires.

    A lot for the money

I love this laptop! i7 processor, 16GB memory, back-lit keyboard, and the 13.3" size is great to work with. No clue how anyone would use this as a tablet though, it feels too heavy and clunky when you put it in tablet mode. All in all I think this is a great deal!

    Do Not Buy this laptop

Before purchasing a new laptop wanted to write a review. The wifi is not working on this laptop and is using the external adapter to make that work. If that needs to be permanently fixed, the entire mother needs to be changed as it is integrated along with the mother board. There was a protection plan from Best Buy for two years. They said it will not be covered as it is a software issue. But, it is not so
