Would give it a 0 if I could
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to upgrade my 5 year old PC. I like Windows 10 overall. But there are major issues with this PC. It kept crashing, both hard drive and video card. I would click a button and it took 6 - 20 seconds to respond!! It took over 2 minutes to boot up. I did return it to Best Buy and purchased the 8 GB version, which is performing very well so far.

ONE SUGGESTION
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Researched and searched to find the perfect system for me. This on paper was it. After a few tweaks it is indeed it. All of features mentioned are nice and work as expected. Touch Screen is responsive. Tablet is well built and seems as though everything will last. Fair price. I have owned a few ASUS laptops and have yet to be disappointed in the quality of product My tweak was a big one though. The problem with the laptop and perhaps any brand currently on the market has nothing to do with the unit. It is Windows 10. After a few issues, Windows 10 is working fine and I really like the layout. The problem came with windows store. The store would not load or download anything. I searched and searched for a solution. The solution is to RESET windows. As I did this, I noticed that Windows 10 was loaded as an update and over the top of Windows 8 from the factory. This seemed to be my problem with drivers and the store. Once I reset Windows 10 to its original state, System has been flawless. My suggestion is to purchase this laptop. After purchase, set it up and go to settings-update and security-recovery-Reset this PC. Do this before any program loading and etc. It may seem like a hassle, but it could prevent issues later. It took me weeks of trying to fix it before I decided to reset. Good system good price. Perfect for my needs. Windows 10 has been flawless since reset.

System didn't work after two weeks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the manufacturer's warranty covered a new motherboard and hard drive, you expect a system to work from day one.

Bad update renders no scroll
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I reviewed and saw all good stuff. I bought and have had nothing but problems. The off little tab is on the side so when you accidentally hit it, it turns off the computer. Now the latest update replaces the ASUS touchpad with something called the ASUS support device eliminating the scroll function from the touchpad. I have to restore to a date before thie latest update to restore the touchpad. ASUS has no clue how to fix it so I will be taking this back (had it since May) for a refund because ASUS said it has scroll capability and then removed it. Bummer.

Sleek design with poor power.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.very disappointed at its quality and performance. some of the features won't work properly and you wouldn't notice if it's your first laptop but if you had a laptop before, you would know.

Even less than horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using my old computer to even fill out the survey. My new computer freezes, doesn't respond, and is so slow to move from one window to a new one, I might as well walk the message or send it my mule.

Never worked.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure how an open box item that supposedly received a thorough Geek Squad evaluation arrived nonfunctional, but it did. Then, when I immediately booked an appointment to have a Geek Squad member evaluate it, I received a lecture that I was 4 minutes late, & he would only have 11 minutes to examine the laptop. My first thought was, I paid extra for this?? Then he turned it on, saw the same boot error message and strongly suggested I simply return it, which I did.

Very, very slow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop expecting it to be terrific, it was highly recommended by the sales person. Sadly, a terrific laptop was not my experience. It was so slow that I could not believe it. I returned the laptop the next day.

I think I got a lemon!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did research on laptops and read reviews. I really thought I was getting a great deal on the computer. Once I finally received it and got my programs loaded on it and went to use it, I got the circle of doom! It said it had to recover from a shut down. It worked for one use and it happened again!! I used it a total of 4 times and I am returning it today! Very disappointing:-(

Lacked a CD drawer, undiscovered 'till I got home.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initial sales staff and I both overlooked the absent drawer. I need this to load my RC flight simulator, etc. However, the supervisor was quick to arrange an exchange the next day. Shannon gets my employee of the month/year award.

Exceptional Laptop For the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop a few days ago. It's really impressed me so far. The touchscreen is responsive and intuitive, the keyboard lights up well, and everything is snappy. As others have said, this is simply an older model with an extra 4GB of memory, but that 4GB seems to make a big difference. The one thing about the Q503UA that I don't like is the power button. It's on the side of the machine, which is not an intuitive place for it. (In most laptops, you'll find the power button over the keyboard.) In addition, it doesn't depress very far, so it's hard to tell when it's been pressed. Despite the issue with the power button, I can easily recommend this machine to anyone who's looking for a good midrange laptop.
