Good for my needs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Turn it on in the store before walking out. When I came home and Charged it I found out the touch screen did not work. Everything else did. I exchanged it for a another one, which worked fine. As long as it worKS I think it will be great laptop. The price is also great. Not the latest processor but good enough for my needs. Love the feature that allows you to connect it to my smart tv without HDMI cable.

Overall a good PC.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So first, I ordered it Monday at about 8:50 AM. I picked it up from the Post Office Tuesday at 3:50 PM. So shipping was great, however I was disappointed with the packaging. Now to the Laptop, the first boot up was kind of slow but it was alright. Out of the box the speed was awesome, there was no lag of any sort. I read the reviews on this before I purchased it, so I knew I was taking a gamble. Sometimes when I open it from rest, the mouse is disabled which confuses me. Also i'm not sure if it cuts off on me sometimes or if I just press the power button by accident, as it is poorly placed on the left side. It does get warm at times, but this is expected when you put an all aluminum product on your lap for extended periods of time. The screen is awesome and the feedback is great. Overall I think this was a good purchase. I say think because this product is still fairly new to me. I will be using it for school. Besides the few problems I think are SOFTWARE issues, I think it is a pretty solid computer and I would recommend it to anyone.

Best 2-in-1 in this price range
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking into getting a 2-in-1 in this price range, chances are you're looking at this ASUS, the HP Envy m6-w103, or the Dell Inspiron I7568. I decided to try out all three for a week each (thanks to Best Buy's convenient 2 week return policy) to ensure that I would be 100% satisfied with the one I picked. Aesthetically, the ASUS wins hands down with the Dell a close second. The ASUS weighs the least of the bunch, with the HP weighing the most at over 5 lbs while the other two are 4.6 and 4.8 lbs respectively, making the ASUS and Dell easier to handle when using as a tablet. Let's talk about touchpads for a minute. The HP's touchpad is laughable. Compared to the HP, this ASUS's touchpad is miles better. It is significantly more responsive, and the left and right "clickers" are MUCH tighter and more responsive also, making the ASUS much more easier and comfortable to use overall in laptop mode. Performance wise they're all very similar, but I did have some issues with the HP, including some driver issues. After making some updates, the HP stopped switching to tablet mode automatically and the auto screen rotation wouldn't work either (yes, all the settings were correctly set, I'm not computer illiterate). It was like it would get stuck and run half in laptop mode and half in tablet mode. Had to revert back to a previous restore point to get the HP working properly again. Some may try and say that's a Windows problem and not the HP, but it's important to note that I had none of those issues with either the Dell or this ASUS after making the same updates on said computers. Overall I thought this ASUS and the Dell were the faster of the three, with the HP just a tad slower than the other two, but nothing real significant. All three have similar hardware and features..same processor, full HD touchscreen obviously, hdmi output, Bluetooth, wireless AC, optical drive omitted, backlit keyboard though the Dell doesn't include a numerical keypad. This ASUS exceeds both the other two laptops in a few areas, and this includes the ports. It has three USB 3.0's, whereas the HP and Dell only have two 3.0's and one 2.0. Also this ASUS has a USB Type C port, which could be a huge benefit in the long run, something the other two lack. This ASUS and the HP both have a 1tb hdd, while the Dell unfortunately only has 500gb. This ASUS exceeds in the RAM department also, having 12gb, which is 4gb more than the other two. On a minor note, the HP was a bit louder running than the others and surprisingly really started to annoy me late at night when it was quiet in the house. I can see why people would buy the HP Envy simply because of the brand, but I would highly suggest trying out this ASUS first, especially with Best Buy's two week return policy. I actually happened to get the HP while it was on sale at $599, but because I preferred this ASUS so much more, I chose to exchange the HP and pay $100 more for it at $699. That should tell you how much I prefer this ASUS over the HP Envy. tl;dr - This ASUS > HP Envy and all other 2-in-1's in this price range.

Great 2-In-1 Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At the time of purchase the reviews were straight in the middle with 3 stars. I really liked the specs on this device, but the reviews concerned me. I went ahead and purchased this laptop when it went on sale. I figured I had the time to try it out and I can take it back right away if I ran into problems. It has been over a week and I have not ran into any problems. The battery life lasts almost 6 hours of use (streaming videos, email, internet surfing, social networking, and some Mine Craft gaming by my kid). The back lit keyboard is very helpful in dimly lit and in darken rooms. The touch screen and touch pad are very responsive. Although when using the touch screen it is annoying seeing fingerprints all over the screen. I ended up buying a stylus to avoid finger streaks and it works great. I'm so happy with my purchase that my kid is now saving up to purchase one.

Great computer except..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer for less than a month already, and I give it mixed reviews. This computer is great and an complete upgrade from my previous computer--easy to surf the web, generally quick to load pages or applications, etc. That said, there are many glitches that need to be fixed (many involving Windows 10). As other reviewers mentioned, this computer's driver will often crash and then reload--many times when you are attempting to scroll quickly down a page or side to side. Not sure why this happens, but it fixes itself within seconds. The touchpad on this computer also often stops working. While some are easy fixes, others are a hassle and take a bit more time and updating of drivers, etc. At any point during the day, I will have to update my touchpad or mouse drivers upwards of 5 times, because either 1)the 2 finger scrolling capability quits working, 2)the touchpad stops working all together, or 3)the touchscreen will not work. There are many easy fixes listed on the internet, but this is something that should be preventable. At times, the touchscreen and mousepad will both stop working, and you have to hard reboot the computer. This is frustrating, but that said, the computer is a quick reboot. Applications sometimes exit or crash for no reason and stop responding. Love this computer besides that, and I'm not sure whether this has more to do with the computer, or the fact Windows 10 isn't exactly the greatest and is still working out some glitches. Any tips to help these glitches is appreciated! Would still recommend this computer because of the many great features and fast response time in opening pages or apps and quick operating system. The touch screen sometimes doesn't have great sensitivity and I haven't yet used the tablet mode frequently. Will update when I do.

Great laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is really fast, I've purchased two of these and they're exceptional, one i use for school and for 3dmodeling and a bit of avid gaming, the other one i use to take apart and add new chips from asus and intel. I find the reviews for this laptop quite funny, you have two people who obviously do not know anything about electronics and could careless to restart the computer and set it up properly. I would recommend gaining a bit of insight on computers before considering to purchase one, these are not like phones you can expect them to 'run' quickly if you do not know how to properly use one.

Didn't think I'd like the touch screen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a laptop after the one i used became too slow and overall was old. Since buying this laptop, I've enjoyed using it all the time. Also, I wasn't too sure if I'd like the touch screen but now I actually prefer it.

Computer may not be the issue, probably Win 10
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First few days fine but after Windows 10 doing updates the system became worse. Not waking up from sleep is a known issue, not just with ASUS but other brands too. Started ok, then by day 4 about 1/2 times the computer slept wouldn't wake up had to hard restart by holding power button down. By 1 week 100% of the time if I put the computer to sleep it would require a hard power button restart to get back up. Again this is not unique to this computer, HP and others are also reporting this. Likely graphics/keyboard/etc conflicts with Windows that'll eventually be fixed by driver updates. 1 thing, bootup takes like 45 seconds from button press to login window, then after I type my password another 20 or so to the Windows desktop and it's ready. My 4 yr old HP Envy with win 7 takes less than 1/2 that time, then about 5-7 seconds to Windows desktop after I type my password.. I'm curious, is this about the boot time for everyone else?

Takes some getting use to
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I walked into Best Buy, I did not intend on purchases a 2 in 1 touchscreen computer. After information the sales associate of what kind of computer I needed, she presented two of the best fit for me. Well, she was absolutely right! After getting use to this computer, I have come to love it and love showing it off! It's great using it for school, work, and pleasure!
