For this issue we recommend disabling any unused startup programs, here are the steps to do so: Step 1 – Right-click on an empty area on the Taskbar and select Task Manager. Step 2 – When Task Manager comes up, click the Startup tab and look through the list of programs that are enabled to run during startup, from this list you can right click on a program and select disable.

Who ever returned messed up the touch screen so it did not work at all. The sound system was good and the touch pad was good with the fingerprint reader. Sad it had to be returned as defective.

Laptop that I had to return

Now this one I have been having problems with it. I was told the Asus was a good laptop but so far not so much

Slow to boot the backlit keys are not bright enough to be useful. Overall disappointing performance with battery life also. I would not buy this again

I do understand your disappointment if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance with the laptop and the backlit keyboard not bright enough. In order to maintain optimum system stability and performance, cumulative WINDOWS Update needs to be installed periodically. If you are accessing web applications, please make sure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance. Also, clearing internet cache or browsing history will improve system performance. To speed up the bootup time, please disable processes and services, not being used, in the Startup Menu. To increase the brightness level of the backlit keyboard, please press the hotkeys, " Fn + F4", pressing "Fn + F3 decreases the illumination or disables it. This may take a longer time depending on the network traffic from the update server and the stability of your high-speed internet service. NEED TO RETURN FOR A REFUND

The computer has totally crashed twice with a stop code of: "CRITICAL PROCESS DIED". I worked with Microsoft to get it going again and that lasted about three days and it has done it again. I have been a loyal BEST BUY and ASUS user but I'm thinking about changing both computer manufacturers and where I get my computers. I can't find any way to contact Best Buy to remedy my situation.

It lasted 20 months with occasional use before it will not turn on at all. I even tried a new charger. I never took it away from my desk. I never traveled with it, in fact I probably only used it once a month if that much. I would not recommend this.
