This computer has a battery life of 5 hours if I"m lucky. The keyboard keys are shallow which means you need to really push own on them to write. I had 2 software hacks within the first 6 weeks even with anti-virus and it was a nightmare. I understand that the Apple is mouch more secure regardless. I'm about to give it away.

Really slow despite what the hardware says. I would not suggest this to anyone

Computer won't send email and scanner will not work

Purchased two of these and returned each one for the same problem. Could not get the computer to restart after initial update. Btw won't shop at Best Buy again either. Customer service is quite lacking

After using it a few days it will not boot up. It keeps going back to boot up menu. I have tried numerous times to get it to boot up but it just goes back to the boot up menu.

I drove 1 hour to pick up my laptop and when I got home it was missing the charger. It clearly specified the cable was included before I bought it.

Have you actually looked at the specifications? This is an amazing laptop 2 in 1. FAST, stable, has many upgrade options, can run usb type-c , backllight keyboard, separate 10 keypad, wonderful touch screen display, The 8250u processor is amazingly fast, great for small gaming, and runs very cool. I have found that if you do a shutdown then power back on, is a LOT FASTER than doing a restart. I have replaced the 1 tb drive with a seagate 2 tb. hybrid that boots a lot faster, and runs quicker during everyday running of all programs. The fact that later I can upgrade to an M.2 drive when the prices are cheaper makes this a great laptop. Replacing the 4gb with an 8gb simm to get the total memory to 16gb also makes this a great laptop.

I'm sure I just got one bad one out of the bunch but it stopped working it was fried and had to be returned within a week.

1st time it cooked just fine. After a couple more times it wouldn't seal and took forever to cook. To be fair B B did replace it.

Was really good for a while, but started to be incredibly slow after a few years. This can happen with computers, but it does kind of suck because it started to wear down after the warranty ran out.

awful didn't even have windows loaded in it exchanged it for a different brand

Touch screen was working some of the time. Returned and bought something different.

I returned ! I felt the laptop was not a good one.

I have had this for nearly a month and it is fast, quiet, and very light. The battery life is good and the volume and power buttons are on the side which are nice for when you use the laptop as a tablet. The screen is very bright and the speakers are very loud and clear.

I was in the market for a new laptop. I went to BestBuy and this is the best one that I saw in the store. The salesman sold me with the details and I am not disappointed. When I brought it home it was easy to start up. Just turned it on and within a few minutes I was all done. It is sleek and very well made. The keyboard and touchpad are very nice and I love the fingerprint sign on option.

I have owned many, many computers and there are about two that I've viewed as being outstanding. This one and a nice Gateway computer I had years ago. The 8th Gen i5 is amazing, I tested the performance on a few CPU intensive websites and this one performed better than i7 7th Generation computers. It's light, battery lasts long, powerful, nice keyboard, sound is amazing for a laptop and touch screen is cool but not something I use much. I would buy one of these again if I lost this one. It has HDMI even though it's compact- There's not a thing about it I don't like (yet). It's not as pretty as some of the more expensive compact computers but it looks good enough, not worth (to me) 50 to 100% more just for a prettier machine.

I bought this laptop after reading the reviews and the specs compared to similar other laptops from other vendors, I knew from the get go that you have to replace the existing hard drive as you need an SSD for best performance but I liked the ease of upgrade compared to my existing HP laptop which required me to take half the laptop apart to do anything. I will recommend that anyone who decides to purchase this laptop heavily consider consider replacing with the existing drive with an SSD as this makes the laptop much faster. I noticed the number of reviews which talked about the updates taking forever and I expected this fully when first booting but even with the spinning disk the updates didn't take forever so take that with a grain of salt but I ran the updates and then tried to clone the existing drive which didn't work for me for some strange reason so I downloaded a clean version of Windows 10 and installed that on an existing Samsung 850 Evo drive which took all of about 8 minutes. After upgrading the drive the boot times definitely became super fast and when using the laptop everything ran a lot faster than the standard disk. If I could pick a flaw it's that that drive is super slow compared to to the rest of the laptop but then again you are paying roughly 100 dollars less for the same laptop compared to the HP Envy comparable with a 256GB SSD and for a few minutes of work you can install a 500GB SSD for the same cost of the HP Envy; I will note the HP laptop only comes with 8GB of RAM compared to 12GB so I chose this laptop because 8GB isn't enough if you truly want to multitask but for most people this is just enough so if you don't want to spend the time to upgrade the the hard drive go with HPE but for any type for upgrades HP is the worst because they either solder on the memory or they make reaching the hard drive or memory difficult without some type of skill involved but this laptop is truly simple to upgrade, no hidden screws or anything like that which I loved. The screen is amazing and beats out most 1000+ dollar laptops I have seen so that is something you can truly enjoy about this; most laptop have a matte screen and blur colors but this laptop does not and with IPS included the viewing angles are truly amazing and the color quality far exceeds what I ever expected. I will note I upgraded from a four year old HP Envy laptop so I know what HP does and I don't like them or laptop anymore simply because they make upgrades super difficult and this laptop has an open M 2 slot so you can leave the existing hard drive in place and just use an M.2 SSD to make the speed of this laptop out of this world and if you know have some skill you can upgrade this laptop to 16GB of RAM with little effort. I would fully recommend this laptop to almost everyone but really consider upgrading the hard drive because it will make this laptop truly worth it and the process is simple.

I totally underestimated this product as well as the power of it. The updates are excruciating when you first use it, but once you get it up and going, its great. My reasoning for the four stars is that once I updated the laptop to windows 10, it somehow deleted the driver for the touch-pad, disabling it completely. I did some research, and as it turns out, this problem seemed to be widespread with this particular model. It took me a long time to find what was going on, but once I found out it was a missing driver, then I looked up an updated one to install from the Asus website, and voila- restarted the laptop, and the touch-pad was back to working splendidly. A couple days after I purchased the laptop, I decided to get the bamboo ink pen which is specifically for windows 10 and it took me forever to figure out how to get it working, so if anyone is interested in getting the bamboo ink pen, I suggest taking your laptop in and having the employees help you to connect it and get in running- I had to install a separate driver for the pen as well to get it working. The pen is amazingly smooth and so far I have had no issues with lag between the pen and touchscreen. Im loving these two products- hands down two of the best purchases i have ever made. Hope this helps- for how much this product costs- dont be afraid to go in and ask questions and get help with it- it is a pain if you're not particularly "techy," but so far it has been completely worth the purchase!! (and yes- you can play fortnite on it just fine) :)
