Great gift from my kids and sweetheart
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old computer which was also an Aces was starting to have issues but I it! So for my birthday I was surprised with a new laptop! The speed is great and the memory too. I do not like the Windows 10 but who has a choice with that. The touch screen tablet feature is great and adds ease when using to edit pictures etc.

Great all around personal laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went looking for a laptop that had enough power and speed to do more than typical web surfing and word processing, but still fit my budget. I found this to be the perfect balance of power, size, and price. It's built very well - all aluminum casing with sturdy 360 degree hinges. It has all the latest technologies available on a laptop - intel core i7, 12GB ram, windows hello, USB type C with thunderbolt, and more, and I got it for uner $600. Buying Asus means dealing with bloatware which is annoying, but it's not a deal breaker for me. I'm very satisfied so far and hope this thing holds up over time.

Mousepad and keyboard issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have previously had two Asus laptops and was very happy with both. The third time seems to not be the charm though. There was plenty to like about this computer, it seems to have a solid build but was still light enough to carry everywhere I went, it's a good looking computer, and (in the short time I've had it) it had run everything quickly and smoothly. The problems were in the mousepad and keyboard. Whenever I typed the whole keyboard seemed to sag under my hands. It happened on on the right side more than the left and caused quite a few typos. I'm far from the best typist ever but I know how to use a space bar, just not when the keyboard kept bending a bit under the pressure of typing. The mousepad was very inconsistent in how it read my fingers. The pointer would skip around the screen and trying to use the two finger scrolling kept zooming in and out on the page I was reading. Now and then just to be different it would read the two fingers as highlighting all the text on the screen. Using a USB mouse solved that one by just avoiding it but I use it enough without a separate mouse that it's a real inconvenience for me. I can see the mousepad problem being something wrong with just this one and not necessarily the model in general though, I haven't tried another one to compare. I really did want to like this one as it was an upgrade from the previous year's model but I just don't think I'll keep it. Seeing as how I had a great deal, $300 off the normal price, and a 60 mile drive to get back to the store, choosing to go that far to take it back may speak as well as anything about how pleased I am in general. It does most things very well. It's just that the two things this one doesn't do are so basic that it interferes with everything a good bit of the time. Hopefully the problems are just this particular computer, the potential positives are too positive to want to just walk away.

Quality computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a PC type of person so I found this product to be a great price for all the things it can accomplish. The foldable screen into a tablet is especially intriguing and useful, not to mention super cool. The processor works fast and the battery is sufficient. Great purchase, no regret.

Super Nice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a large, sturdy laptop with all the bells and whistles, very smooth, easy setup and surfing. You can use a mouse or the touchscreen easily and at the same time. The only small con is there is a humming noise, not loud but noticeable.

Great Laptop with Great Features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop was a replacement for the Asus Q552UB. because I'd had a lot of issues with it. I've only been using this model for a little over 3 weeks so here's my pros and cons Pro's: Noticeably faster Bluetooth downloads from another device, Screen flips completely back on itself. Bright clear screen. immediately recognized my Samsung S7 phone without having to download any drivers. The power cord is much better because it has 2 parts and longer than the previous model plus it plugs in without that big bulky box that blocked your other outlets on a surge protector and it has 2Terabytes instead of 1TB. Cons: Does not have a built in DVD player/Burner and the sound isn't quite as good as the Q552UB was,(t it's not a huge difference, but noticeable). One big con that I have with this model as well as the last was the location of power button being next to the volume button, being so close together you can accidentally push the power button while trying to adjust the volume and the volume buttons seem to be the opposite of what you'd think that it should be, pushing up turns it down and pushing down turns it up. It is this way with both the models and it's something that Asus should address.

laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this two years ago to replace my aging macbook pro. I wish I had made the switch sooner. Ran faster, better usability, compatible with more programs, touch screen, folds into tablet-mode, etc. I honestly don't think I'll ever go back to apple products.

Asus - Q524UQ excellent laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was interested in getting a fast laptop, I was thinking of a solid state drive, but the drives that were 250 gb, with I-7 costs more than this one with a 2tb hd, this also came with more ram and windows hello. The windows hello makes the laptop start-up as fast as solid state drive. The sleep and start-up mode are super fast. The only thing that is not great about this laptop is that it is heavier. The tablet mode makes it great for drawing and watching moves. Battery life is about 4 hours when streaming Netflix, and a recharge takes about 2-3 hours. Without watching video battery life is about 7 hours. Also windows hello works great in the darkness, I'm writing this review lying in bed with the laptop, and it was able to detect me with the lights from the laptop itself with no lights on.

Everything except for the HDD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like everything about the laptop from the clear screen to the metal body. The battery life seems decent as I can run for a long time without charging. Some issues I've seen so far is that my right hinge can be moved if I purposely move it, but my left hinge doesn't so I'm not sure whats going on. The hard drive that comes installed isn't the best, but it's not good either. Disk usage normally maxes out when I first got it and it seems to be a lot of bloatware that slowed down the computer. At one point the computer would not function at all and wouldn't boot up. After many tries, it finally boots and says there is a disk repair and there wasn't any more problems. It doesn't maxes out the disk usage anymore, but it is still well above 70%. I got sick of it and got a m.2 ssd and installed it myself. There is a m.2 slot as well as a screw mount, but no screw. I couldn't find a fitting screw anywhere, but discovered that the screws that secures the bottom fits. I had to use one of the ten screws for the ssd, so now the bottom of the laptop has a screw missing.

My first experice with an ASUS....Winner!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my HP laptop's motherboard died, I wanted a good quality replacement laptop. BestBuy recommended the ASUS. This one was an OPEN BOX model which made this a great investment. Not too heavy, this laptop/tablet proves to be as versatile as my workload as a graphic designer and database admin requires me to be.

Good overall
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been happy overall with this laptop. There are just a few things. The built in speakers are a little weak. If you plug in the included speaker it is much better, but that can be a pain. I find myself using Bluetooth to listen on my stereo instead. Not having mouse buttons takes some serious getting used to. It works pretty well after you get use to it, but not 100% as having individual buttons. These are my two main detractions after using it nearly everyday for a month as my primary computer. A couple of other things to consider. It does not have a CD/ DVD drive or Ethernet connection. Both can be overcome with externals, but I think this is a little premature. The wireless connection will not get you to gigabit, but it is pretty fast. With really good wifi the best I have done is about 700 Mb/s. If you want to do a lot of large file transfers you will want a USB adapter if you are going with this laptop. It is fine for most things, and maybe faster than you are used to.

Good laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this a month ago, and it's holding up really well, my only complaint is with Windows.... But the hardware has no issues yet, battery lasts for around 5-6 sit longer if just browsing very lightly with eco mode turned on and brightness set to minimum. I play overwatch ok this device and when I have great WiFi connection this laptop doesn't dissapoint me. I would like the hard drive to be a SSD but I can change that later

SO FAR, SO GOOD!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi, My new computer is working fine. Just to let you know you need to go to the ASUS website. There is an update to fix the right click button on the mousepad, it does not work properly. ASUS is aware. Here is the link to the ASUS helpdesk, it will tell you what to do in order to download the fix.. http://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks/Q524UQ/HelpDesk/. Once install it, the mousepad will work fine Also, you will notice the battery will drain after it gets to 100%. It does this on purpose, Once the battery goes down to 94%, it will charge again. Be sure to go to the Device Manager and update all of the drivers on all of the devices (it will take a while). I had to do this. You also need to do this in order to get the subwoofer to work. Overall, I like the computer. I wish it came with a removable battery and a CD/DVD ROM. Otherwise, it works well.. You will notice the computer will work fine after all the updates are applied.

Great Laptop for Photography & Photoshop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop to replace an HP laptop that I had purchased several weeks earlier. The HP laptop had some battery issues. Though I was suppose to get 6 hours of power with a charge, it only charged to 3 hours. The ASUS laptop was suppose to hold up to 6.5 hours so I was pleased when the laptop showed as much as 10 hours of available power upon being fully charged. I use this laptop specifically for photography, photoshop, lightroom, etc. Very pleased at this time. I also have a desktop ASUS and have had a good experience with this as well.

Great Touch Screen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think it best to make sure the 2017 Asus Model you buy has the latest i7 processor core for faster use and does not freeze up during your work applications. The Touch Screen is amazing and there is much to explore with Voice activation also! The 3D and Paint apps built into this computer are easy and fun to use. Good Luck

Nice Laptop for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop looks nice and has some decent speed. I was talked into this because of the 2TB hard drive as opposed to a SSD. My previous laptop had the SSD and start up with the SSD is still much faster. Other than that it's a good laptop with sharp graphics and it comes with a small speaker.

Great PC!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC runs Win 10 and all Office programs wonderfully! The graphics are great for streaming and the computer is lightning fast. My only real complaint is the camera facial recognition doesn't always work. This may be the software and not the computer though.
