Although I love ASUS products but sadly this laptop stopped working for me withing a very short period of time (hard drive) so it was disappointing and I had to get a new one (Dell).

I have been looking for a new laptop for a while. I have been thinking of going Gaming type because most other laptops really fail when it comes to hard drive speed and video. After a lot of reflecting I decided this would be the best bang for my buck. Has excellent processor and 12 gig memory is good and even good video 940x. Now for the crazy shortcoming, the 2TB hard drive. Sure it has size but it is soooooo slowwww. It is crazy slow. It took forever to do anything. That hard drive really sucks. That same day out of frustration I bought an SSD drive and replaced it. What a difference. This laptop is king now. It starts up in seconds vs minutes and flies. Now that the there is a good speedy hard drive in it the processor and memory can go to work instead of dying of boredom. Now I love this laptop. It is nice and fast has great audio and video. It has been a very nice upgrade from my old laptop. If you want this I suggest you change the hard drive or you will not be happy with it.

I just received my new PC today , although the computer looks very nice it does not work. While I was completing the initial setup the computer kept switching back to the Hi there screen. I rebooted several times and it will not go pass this screen. I keep getting the ASUS Incredible screen. Disappointed, I will return tomorrow evening after work.

I bought this Asus because it´s configuration. Looks that everything is fine, but, when you turn it on, for some reason it just dont start. Keep running and takes centurys to make it work. The other bad thing is that isn´t Windows Ink ready, or at least I couldnt make it work with the bamboo pen.

I actually bought two of these. BOTH of them experienced issues right out of the box. Lagging, visual errors, slow processing, even though it's an i7. The issues were countless and unending! I returned it after 4 days and purchased an Apple MacBook Pro instead!

This was a disappointment. Thought it was a great deal for the money spent. Returned it the next day. Windows ink didn't work on this like it was supposed to. Got very warm and the fan is super loud.

    Terrible Hard Drive

At first, I was very excited to get a "gaming laptop," because it would guarantee more power and faster speeds. The design was sleek and elegant, and the back-lit keyboard was very convincing. I'll give this laptop credit for its hinges. I have had it for more than a year now and the hinges are holding strong. Big plus for that. The only good part about the touch-pad is its buttons. They click very nicely, and haven't had any adverse changes in the "quality" of the click. My previous laptop's touch-pad buttons almost refused to click right away after I'd had it for a while, as opposed to it's satisfying instant response like when I first got it. The amount of USB ports (3) is nice, considering I needed to use a USB printer, my Razer Death Adder Chroma wired mouse, occasionally a USB drive or my phone. For people who video editing and any (3D or video) rendering, the amount of RAM is nice, but it never gets used to it's full potential due to the bad hard drive, as detailed later on in the review. Now on to the bad stuff. We're going on a long ride people, so strap in! This laptop is a glorified toaster-oven. It has no cooling capabilities at all and overheats while doing even the most resource-light tasks on your computer. For instance, it has frozen up on me countless times while I've been coding in Java in the Netbeans IDE as well as in C++ using Dev C++. While the keyboard's button-presses may be superbly silent, the keys are poorly attached to the computer. Don't get me worn, I am very, very careful with any computer, and have taken apart and rebuilt several different computers. However, I have had my 'E' key fall off several times, and my 'Space' key functions with much less ease and feels like inertia is claiming a little more of it with each application of pressure. The hard drive is absolutely atrocious. 2TB sounds great, but it doesn't do you any good when it fails twice in 6 months and Best Buy refuses to refund you for it. I've deduced that it did this solely because of the unbelievably high temperatures it experiences inside the laptop. I don't run anything too intense on it either - mostly just YouTube videos and whatever is needed for college assignments. Also, the hard drive is slow. I should also mention that I did some minor video editing and 3D modeling with it, but, in no way, shape, or form, should the amount of rendering I did have had any significant, long-term impact on the HDD. At 6500 RPM, whereas most decent-quality HDDs peak at about 7200 RPM, it actually throttles the speed of the laptop quite a bit. The GeForce 940MX is an under-powered GPU. It could have been easily replaced with a GeForce 960M at the very least with no heat gain at all and a decent jump in video processing power. The touch-screen is pointless. I absolutely hate the fact that every laptop nowadays has a touch-screen. I never use them, and it's come to the point where a non-touch-screen laptop that *isn't* an Apple product is a rare sight. When we take a look at what I needed the laptop for, which was college, the touch-screen is completely obsolete. On a side note, it's really annoying when people try to point something out on your screen, touch the screen, and the cursor disappears. What's even worse, is they try the whole thing over again, but with minimal effort to avoid touching the screen. The "sub-woofer" that comes with it. Give me a break. I notice no change in the music with or without this tiny, plastic paperweight. I listen to a whole slew of music across several genres from rock to *very little* rap to EDM (progressive house EDM mostly) to pop. The battery life is horrendous! When unplugged and at 100% charge, on the lowest brightness setting, and using best power plan for battery life, this laptop would last no longer than 3 hours. This is very bad for college students who have more the 2 classes in a row. The touch-pad is all over the place. It seemingly varies in sensitivity at any given time. More often than not, the cursor will not move on the screen for small period of time after you move your finger across the touch-pad. I could almost mandate a wireless/wired mouse if you get this computer. There are no indicators for Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock, except for the tiny light on the Caps Lock key that is almost always hidden behind your left hand. Since Best Buy will not refund me for this product, I will be forced to use it for parts when I build my much more competent desktop in the spring. The RAM will most definitely be used as a temporary placeholder until I get some high-speed sticks. The GPU will also most likely be used as a placeholder until I get either the GeForce 980TI or the GeForce GTX 1070, depending on available deals. If I'm able to, I may just use the this CPU and another one just like it in a Gigabyte motherboard that can accommodate 2 CPUs. If not, I'll just upgrade to at least a quad-core Intel CPU, with at least a 3.2 GHz base-clock. The hard drive could used to establish a secure RAID 1 setup in the new desktop. This would nearly guarantee data-recovery in the event of one of the hard drives failing.

After getting my laptop all set up, I had to return it to the store for a replacement. The microphone muted all of the time. I am very disappointed in this laptop.
