Customers are impressed with the ROG Zephyrus 14" Gaming Laptop's performance, graphics capabilities, and long battery life. Many appreciate its compact size, portability, and lightweight design, making it ideal for those on the go. However, some users note that the device can get warm and produce noticeable fan noise during use. The lack of a webcam and some concerns about the keyboard backlight are also mentioned.

ROG Zephyrus 14 is AWESOME
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a lot of research...I decided on the Zephyrus 14, and after a solid month of use this is my favorite electronics device I've ever purchased. This thing is fast, reliable, and has solid battery life. It has brought so much joy back to using a PC vs a mobile device that my review can't truly do it justice. I love it. Can't recommend it enough! My ONLY complaint is that the key backlighting (white) is tough to see in dim lighting. I wish I were able to change the color of the backlighting. That is my only complaint.

Almost perfection
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a night owl, I like computers with backlit keyboards. The minimum brightness level on this Asus is still too bright once the eyes have adjusted to the dark. The edges of the key caps are clear, so even more light bleeds through. And during the day one forgets to turn off the backlight, the low contrast silver/white coloring of the symbols is difficult to see. Black key caps with white lettering is a an unfailing time tested recipe, so not sure what Asus was thinking here. The the system looks nice and performs wonderfully otherwise.

Really nice features for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the size and price (I picked it up as used while on sale), it's very nice and handles most games just fine. The only two things that take a bit getting used to is the lack of web cam and the fans being very noticeable whenever they're running. Asus included a program to use your phone's camera which definitely helps that item. I haven't dived into the settings to see if I can reduce the fan noise, but they become part of the background when I'm working on something so no biggie.

Best gaming laptop for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The G14 laptop is probably the best gaming laptop you can purchase for the price, especially the prices on Best Buy, which don’t seem to be available anywhere else. However, with the G14, it’s necessary to do quite a bit of work in the settings to ensure it runs as best it can. For example, disabling boost mode in registry editor and updating windows drivers and AMD drivers and enabling iGPU are some tasks you might want to do before you start gaming. The build quality seems really good and aesthetically, the laptop is beautiful.

Great Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before starting I just want to say that this laptop is my first entry into the PC gaming world I am coming from console (specifically XBOX ONE S). Lets start with the specs: This is rocking a Ryzen 9 5900HS with 8 cores all with a base clock of 3.3 GHz (although while plugged in I found that it usually goes up 4 Ghz - 4.5 Ghz is the highest I saw) and if that wasn't enough it also has integrated Graphics. The GPU is an RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, performs pretty well can handle most of the games I threw at it, Rocket League with everything turned off saw 350 frames although I just kept lock it at 144hz and it worked fine ( a little bit of frame tearing), Thermals, I never saw the GPU or the CPU get over 90C while the CPU does get 10 degrees hotter than the GPU because it does not have as many heat pipes going to it but usually stayed around 85C during gaming. It has 3 settings Silent, Performance, and Turbo. During Silent mode it does get hotter and the GPU and CPU have to clock down a little bit, great for doing everyday tasks, work, surfing, entertainment as the fans stay quieter. During Performance mode the fans do get significantly louder but the GPU is delivered more power making it perform better, this I saw is the best mode for gaming does not get to loud but will give you a good experience with your gaming. During Turbo mode the fans go nuts and the laptop tries to deliver maxed out power to both the CPU and the GPU, during gaming the CPU mostly stays at 4.1 GHz and I saw the GPU boost up 1700 Mhz. The build quality is very good the lid has a very nice matte finish to very clean laptop, something that is powerful but wont bring attention to it self if you bring it to school or work. The keyboard and trackpad are both equally as good to. The battery should not be used for gaming the 3060 sucks all the battery life out of it. The battery is used for when you need to work on a project or you need to do school on the go and then come home and plug it in and then its a great gaming device. That is why the CPU has integrated graphics to not use the 3060 and to save battery. The screen is beautiful it is only 14 inches though, but I find myself forgetting that it is 14 inches, 144 hz makes everything very smooth. You do have to buy either a display port or a usb-c to HDMI cable if you want to game on an external monitor the HDMI goes to the Integrated Graphics while the usb-c goes directly to the 3060 (kind of annoying but no big deal). If you game online make sure that your WIFI is good as it has no ethernet adapter, it is WIFI 6 enabled so if you do get a hands on a WIFI 6 enabled router (if there out yet) you will have no problems, although I have no problems gaming online on 5g. It does have a 1TB SSD which for me is plenty of storage and since it is an SSD it makes everything very snappy and fast. The speakers are good although no laptop will ever match the quality of of MacBook speaker these are ok they are dolby atmos enabled so that is a plus. Overall, great laptop for someone who wants to game at home and work with ease on the go if you want to purely game get a desktop pc (if you can find parts).

I love this laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were forced to buy this laptop for a major sports tournament we were livestreaming for a client. The client wanted to use their 2013 MacBook Pro to stream. The buffering issues were so bad that they asked for a solution. I let them know we were using an ASUS ROG at the 2nd location and the stream was flawless. I purchased this model to replace their MacBook Pro in the signal chain and the rest of the week with 14 games went smooth and with no issues. This model is my go to for speed and affordability. It is very reliable and small enough to fit with our streaming gear in a Pelican 1510.

Great Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a reallu great laptop. It is sleek enough to look casual to cary around but plenty powerful when you want to game. I have had some issues where it doesnt automatically switch from the integrated graphics to the dedicated graphics card as well as having to restart my computer when i use a USB c dock with external monitor. When I wake the computer from sleep the monitor does not show the display. Not sure if this is a laptop problem, dock problem, or monitor problem. Other than that it has been working wonderfully.

So Good, I bought 2
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've own the 1st generation of the z14 and had such a good experience. That beings said. I bought the 2nd gen just for the upgrade. Having the new R7 5900 chip is a big jump in video editing speed. This was a little performance boost. This laptop reduced my editing time by 60%. The laptop is light, nice, cool to touch. One down side is the RAM stick being saddered into the motherboard, only allowing one stick to be upgraded.

Great Computer

Chews through heavy render/code compiling.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this machine. Its speedy, players cyberpunk with RTX on, and can chew through my render pipelines at full steam. Feels nearly as powerful, if noisier, than my admittedly a bit dated desktop workstation. I appreciate the fun yet understated aesthetics, and its much more convenient to use than my previous Razer blade advanced laptop. Silent mode on the go gets me about 10 hours(with tweaks from well supported user reddit/wiki) of battery life with non data crunchy tasks! Benefit of getting that mass market model, there are hundreds of posts on reddit resolving issues and providing step by step optimizations!

Compact beast
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The machine is well built. Great design to put 3060 and high end cpu into this compact beast. No issues with hardware and thermal. But the asus software is not that good. Recently updated the asus assistant(maybe not called this name but the one responsible upgrading the driver from asus), now everytime restart the laptop, there will be a stupid null window showing at the button of the screen. And you need to close it manually. Though overall i like this beast very much

Fast, high quality, unique machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The G14 is such a great machine. Small and light, yet solid and quality feeling. The machine is very fast and fairly quiet for a gaming laptop. There are a few reviews online for the 2021, but many for the 2020. In all, the 2021 has only improved and fixed the issues with the 2020 model. The only thing I would change is the inside color on the Moon White model. I would have preferred a white interior. This is such a small complaint that it should convey how it is a great all-around machine.

Good laptop for its price and performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop is good for its price and size. Wish it had its own Ethernet port like the 15.6 but I’m sure it’ll be harder due to the size of it. It gets kind of hot but you all should already know this since this thing is packing with that ryzen 9 so be sure to have the laptop elevated with a fan!! Glad it’s not rbg keyboard and it’s still sleek for you to take it out to work on school stuff outside without looking completely like a gamer but they don’t know what you’re packing inside. One minor detail is where the little holes in the lid is gonna be hard to clean so good luck opening them everyone.

Tiny little gaming/design beast
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a motion designer, and I bought this not necessarily to game but more for 3D rendering via Redshift/Cinema 4D. It packs quite the punch for its size. I successfully upgraded to 40GB of RAM using a Samsung 32GB SODIMM purchased on Amazon (8GB is unfortunately soldered to the motherboard, or I'd have gone to 64GB). Really easy to upgrade. The display is great (I can't remember the Adobe RGB specs, but it's up there), plenty bright and color accurate. The Ryzen 9 chip runs circles around my 11th gen i7 in my other Win10 laptop, and the 3060 is no slouch either.
