Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the ROG Zephyrus 14" Gaming Laptop's performance, graphics capabilities, and long battery life. Many appreciate its compact size, portability, and lightweight design, making it ideal for those on the go. However, some users note that the device can get warm and produce noticeable fan noise during use. The lack of a webcam and some concerns about the keyboard backlight are also mentioned.

    Everything But the Camera

4.75 Stars. Wished it had a camera but was otherwise an opportunity after 18-24 months of shopping. Price point became within grasp. Was able to return a different but similar ASUS laptop with smaller .5 TB storage, same RAM, 3050 and Intel in exchange for 1 TB, the 3060, same memory and AMD Ryzen-9 for less money due to an 'as new' open box item. Great unit. I wish it had a camera but can get by with a cheap external cam for my uses.

Absolutely amazing laptop. Compact and light, extremely fast but does tend to get a bit hot which Im told is normal for gaming laptops. Would highly recommend!

Nice specs on this laptop - great cpu, ssd capacity, memory, graphics card and compact form factor - result in a super performing package at a very attractive price point for its performance. Sadly the display and screen is sub-par with respect to the other components and there is light bleed through on the edges. Other than that no complaints. Reliability is yet to be seen. Great service from Best Buy with friendly and knowledgeable sales staff.

So much power in a compact notebook!

If you're looking for a powerful 14" laptop, then you'd have a hard time finding a better value than the Zephyrus g14. The combination of the new AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and Nvidia RTX 3060 packs as much punch as you can get into such a thin and portable machine. Web browsing and YouTube will last around 8 hours on a single charge. Then when you plug it into the power brick, it's a very capable gaming machine. I did end up returning mine, but only because I wanted the more powerful (slightly less portable) Zephyrus G15. As far as 14 inch notebooks go, this thing is unbeatable.

Love it, but keys get very very hot when gaming

The only thing you need to know is that the laptop can get loud when gaming with the fans on - anyone one in the room will be able to hear it if they are not wearing a headset. Also the W,E, and R keys get VERY hot. Crazy hot when gaming. But not so unbearable that I did not want to play. I would only get this laptop if you absolutely need a smaller laptop, e.g. you travel with it or carry it around all day.

Great gaming and productivity laptop for the price

If you're looking for a well-built laptop that excels in both typical productivity and gaming applications, this is a really good choice. It plays almost all games at 60+ FPS, the SSD has rather decent read and write speeds (though not the fastest), and it doesn't get screaming hot like other thin-and-light laptops. Minor downsides is that it comes with an excessive amount of management apps, and it's difficult to determine which ones are *required* and which ones aren't, the iGPU isn't enough to drive multiple displays, and you can't add a second m.2 SSD.

Good laptop, nice aesthetic, keyboard is nice, trackpad is nice. Runs hot, so need to adjust fan curve for gaming and what not. I'll probably lower the Wattage of certain components like the CPU. Screen is beautiful. Highly recommended if you want a laptop with the listed specs.

This is a very good laptop, works with most games in full video setup, even Flight Simulator 2020, my only concern is that it gets really hot, but it is a price to pay using all the power, I bought last year the same model with a RTX 2070 as birthday gift to my son and we got amazed with this performance so now bought this for myself, so far very happy!!!!!!! another little detail is the backlite keyboard that get a little confuse with the silver keyboard with white light, please ASUS it could be better than this.

The G14 is an excellent option if you need a subtle, thin and light laptop but also want to have the ability to play games respectably. Using the Armory Crate software you can set the computer to 'Silent' mode which turns off the fans and turns down the GPU/CPU power which makes this as quiet and subtle as a M1 Macbook. When class is over and it is time to unwind you can crank the GPU/CPU back up and it will handle any modern title with reasonable settings, especially this FHD model. While this does not have the highest end GPU you can buy it is certainly respectable and at MSRP is an incredible value for a stylish, versatile and portable machine. The only con for this system is the mediocre keyboard back-lighting on the silver /white model. In a bright room, having the white back light on makes the characters harder to read. Although in a bright room, you don't need the back-light to be on to see the keys anyway. Also, learn to type.

I bought this because there were some pc games I wanted to play (e.g. door kickers 2, ground branch, EFT) that were not in console. The machine can handle everything I’ve thrown at it. Unreal Engine 5 works smoothly. The only downside of the machine is that it gets crazy loud and hot. I generally keep mine on a desk and use Bluetooth accessories, so it doesn’t bother me too much. Just be aware that it’s loud and hot.

My g14 3060 is doing me very well right now. It runs PyCharm very smoothly for my academic self-study with discord and a dozen chrome tabs open. It runs the top games out like Valorant at 190 fps despite the 144hz screen. My only complained might be that it is not 16 by 10 for the max, most shmexy screen that it was meant to be. If you can find a good deal ~1250, it is an absolute yes from me. The battery life is also insane. This my third day without charge on silent mode.

It's a decent laptop. Pros- Good processor Good gpu 144 refresh rate Looks great Smooth Cons- A little pricey Only two USB ports I sometimes get weird freezes(idk if its just my experience) Can run warm! Overall- I'm decently satisfied with the laptop The speakers make a crackle noise as if they are blown, an update to BIOS will fix this. Plays all the games I play so far no issues high FPS on highest settings.

Great laptop so far. I haven't been able to duplicate the battery life that other people have been getting (probably need to fiddle with certain settings some more), but performs everywhere else. I can always have the laptop plugged in anyways so not a deal breaker for myself. It handles gaming flawlessly, just might need to have some earphones in since the fans do get loud.

Overall this laptop does everything you need very well. I used this laptop in an Engineering University and can handle all CAD-based software very well. The battery life is terrible but there are ways to mitigate how bad it is. Due to it being a gaming laptop the battery life last at most 5-6 hours depends on what I'm doing on it.

Picked this up a few weeks ago when BB had it for 1250 and wow what a deal! Fantastic gaming laptop! I bought this as an upgrade for a laptop that had a 1660ti and wow what a huge upgrade! I can play basically everything at high settings, it can even handle pretty decent levels of ray tracing! Gets great battery life too! The only thing that I'm not a fan of is the lack of a 2nd M2 slot but that's just how it goes with small laptops.
