Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the ROG Zephyrus 14" Gaming Laptop's performance, graphics capabilities, and long battery life. Many appreciate its compact size, portability, and lightweight design, making it ideal for those on the go. However, some users note that the device can get warm and produce noticeable fan noise during use. The lack of a webcam and some concerns about the keyboard backlight are also mentioned.

Be ware!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Look…this laptop packs a lot of power and it’s pretty fast and good at what it does. Be ware however the laptop is know for a lot of firmware issues/ bugs. There’s a whole Reddit page about this. From driver issues, screen issues and even battery issues. You have to be technically skilled/ knowledgeable enough to solve them on your own, most casual consumers won’t be able to do that. However once a problem is solved it usually remains solved on the laptop. Hopefully the windows 11 update will clear all firmware bugs on the pc.

Great all rounder/gaming ultrabook
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent all purpose laptop. The Ryzen 9 is blazing fast and it is paired with a decent graphics card. The screen is bright and covers 100% sgrb which is sufficient for content creators. Port selection is excellent and maintenance is relatively easy. Cons: The location of the power cord is not ideal near the middle of the left side of the laptop. Somewhere near top edge would have been more convenient. It is somewhat thicker than other laptops of it's class as the chassis is older now.

ROG For Life!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop runs everything smoothly and has a really fast response time. I consistently get 240 FPS on League of Legends and around 200 on Valorant. That doesn't mean it's a gaming only laptop though. You can switch it back to Windows mode for regular office stuff, and if you want more silence, then Silent Mode's the way to go. Charging is very fast and battery life is great and powerful. The monitor is very clear and vivid and this laptop will make you feel like your internet is very strong even if the signal sucks. Overall it's the perfect laptop for working gamers on the go. If you haven't bought this laptop yet, then let me tell you this: This laptop is the most OP laptop/pc I have ever used and you should JOIN THE REPUBLIC OF GAMERS!

Modern 'Gaming' Laptops: Just Say 'No.'
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give this thing 0 stars, or even -5/5 stars if I could. Within a month of purchase, the monitor would display only be black, save for a tiny sliver at the top. I've gone through countless hours of research, trouble-shooting, even going as far as opening it up, completely dusting it out, and re-applying (very high end & expensive) thermal paste, in case it was a heat degradation/thermal throttling issue. The only thing that has worked has been changing the refresh rate from 144 (which the phoned in while out to lunch with returned charges levels of cheap monitor was clearly not designed to handle, in spite of all the performative pandering on the device itself), down to 60 Hz. And even then, it still has the same display problem until the Windows sign in/login page loads. I paid $1,500 in mid/early 2021 for this...thing. At most, it would have cost between $100 to $200, regardless of how much it cost to make. And even that is being extremely generous. For those who are savvy enough, just buy a used ThinkPad (the business class ones) from eBay, Amazon, or from a trusted friend, and have LInux installed on it--any distro really; even Temple OS would offer a better UX at this point, with the way Windows has been 24H2 update onward has been--on it; but specifically Linux Mint if you just want a web browser and e-mail checker (esp for the older/less tech savvy) or Nobara if you just want to game (though, I'd check if said device can handle an external GPU, and how much bottlenecking the CPU/etc would cause; and depending on what games you prefer to play). You'll get a far better built/engineered machine that, while it might not be as flashy, or pretty, or tip of the cutting edge, will get you worlds more value & mileage than a modern 'gaming' laptops built today that will last you, at most, a year (some dying within a few DAYS), because of how cheaply made & shamefully overpriced they are.

Perfect entry lvl gaming rig for console peasants.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You won't be running rainbow tables with this...but I'm pretty sure it will handle Oregon Trail. This thing is cute for what it is. But if you fancy yourself a legitimate gamer, I'd recommend going bigger on the graphics card. The mobile equivalents never live up to their cooler, older brother desktop versions. It is a unique, nice looking laptop though. Install Kali on it and you'll have fun for sure.

Horrible Battery Life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing has the worst battery life of any laptop I have ever owned. Whatever battery life is listed on the specs page is an absolute lie. The battery on mine lasts for like 1 hour at a time. It's basically not even a laptop because it's not portable because I always have to keep it plugged in. Maybe I got a defective one. I don't know. That brings down my opinion of the laptop by a lot. The gaming itself is pretty good on this laptop. Graphics are nice. It does get very hot and uncomfortable sometimes, but that is to be expected with a thin gaming laptop.

Posted .Dear OblongBox,
I'm sorry to hear about the battery life and the unit getting hot. Certainly, high usage will drain the battery life very quickly. Does it drain very quickly on idle? Portable and powerful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 5900HS and RTX 3060 is an excellent combination in terms of performance for the money. Modern titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2 run smoothly with maximum settings at 1080p, and some others can run at 4K. Cinebench R23 indicates that the CPU outperforms almost every other comparable processor in both singlethread and multithread tests. The 14" size is a good compromise between portability and screen space. The keyboard is very responsive and not mushy at all especially for one on a laptop. The only complaint is that the backlighting is dim and only useful for low light situations. Otherwise it can just be turned off. Battery life is excellent for a gaming laptop at about 8-9 hours doing productivity work. As an audiophile, I usually use my own high end headphones, but the speakers on this laptop relatively close in sound quality considering their size and they are better than most laptop speakers. As a bonus they are located on the keyboard deck and top firing. Despite only being 1080p, the screen is perfectly readable at this size and the colors are good. Fan noise is not a problem as silent mode can be enabled for when they are not needed, and the laptop will still stay cool for use on your lap. Overall this is a very good laptop in terms of performance, battery life, and design.

Just AMAZING!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this laptop, I was worried about heating issues because of its size but after a one hour gaming session the temperature was around 60 to 70 degrees which is very reasonable compared to its competitors... Build quality is very good! And the unboxing experience is very unique... I very happy I bought it.

Pretty good!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super happy with my purchase, though I will say certain games do take up a lot of battery, and it can get pretty hot if you leave it running for too long. Other than that I love it!
