Majority of users who owned this phone has encountered the "WHITE LINE" problem on the bottom of the screen after a few weeks of use, myself included. good luck trying to get a replacement that doesn't have the same problem. This faulty hardware is International wide. Battery life is great, but that's the only thing good about this phone. Wifi and processing speed is slower than comparable devices.

Second Worst Smartphone I've Ever Owned

Pros: + Cheap + Long battery life + Frequent updates Cons: + Very fragile + Glitchy software + Lacks 5ghz WiFi and NFC + No good cases available, despite the phone NEEDING one So, I'll open by saying I'm not gentle with my phones, but I'm certainly not a toddler throwing a tantrum either. My phones get dropped sometimes or a bit of water spilled on them, but nothing too extreme. My last three phones were all Nexus devices and they all ran me 2+ years before issues started cropping up. After bringing the phone home I tried to connect to my WiFi and realized it only supports 2.4 ghz. The glass in front of the camera cracked almost the first time I set the phone down without a case. After getting it exchanged I get the most rugged looking case I could, which ended up being a thin sheet of plastic and a mediocre screen protector (again, no good options). The power button and volume rocker get jammed into the phone body and stop working until I pry at them frequently, many times just from bumping the phone into a counter or door frame while walking. The volume up portion is now permanently stuck after just a few months. The camera on the phone is okay. It's not amazing, no where near what I expected. The depth of field thing is neat, but the photos are grainy. Lastly, ASUS has some kind of built in memory cleaner that I haven't figured out how to shut down. Apps that are supposed to play in the background (YouTube, Play Music, Audible, etc...) randomly die and don't save my place correctly. On top of that, the seeker bar in Play Music randomly stops working, restarting the current track instead of seeking despite the app working perfectly on every other device that I own. As to the good, the bullet points sum it up - it's cheap and has a long battery, and ASUS pushes out regular security updates. TL;DR: Get something else.

After just 16 days or so, a white line showed up at the bottom of the screen. Since it was outside of BB's 14-day return policy, I called ASUS and they have NO LOCAL REPAIR options, so they said it would be 7-10 days for repair after they received it. I'm not sure how anyone thinks it is reasonable to go 2 weeks without a phone. This phone had good specs, but good specs won't help you when something goes wrong shortly after buying it.

Battery life is why I give it a star. The rest of the Stars lost in order. 1 lags so bad. 2 crashes and reboots on its own. 3 camera sucks. 4 I fell for believing Asus was a good brand. Never again.

First things, this is not a power gamer phone. If you need top notch gamer of heavy cpu/gpu performance please move on and do not leave sour reviews if it didn't do what Asus does not intend it to do. You will have to pay a lot more money. This phone fits my use case perfectly. I need my phone for work, email, slack, texts and Skype calls. It preforms these functions wonderfully. I spend a lot of time in these apps and the screen is as big and bright as my iphone 6 plus screen. It's a Asus, so I trust the brand and the build quality feels very nice. The battery is honestly ridiculous. I can use the phone all day and have 66% battery left. It's a 5000mah battery. My iphone 6 plus battery was 2700mah. It's almost 2x the size. The camera is very nice and fast. it has 2.3x real zoom which is better that the iPhone 7 ($700 phone). The fingerprint sensor is fast and better than the sensor on my iphone 6 plus. Now, for the ZenUI. It's Marshmallow base but Asus has an release date for Nougat . I didn't care for ZenUI look and feel that much myself. I fixed this in 20 minutes by installing a ZenUI Marshmallow theme from the app store, Asus provides a theme engine! Installing Nova launcher and switchign to Googboard (keyboard). Then I disabled some Asus apps I didn't want, but honestly most of them are useful apps. Now it looks and works very close to Stock Android. This phone also has USB C. This is a requirement for me. I switched to iPhone because of micro usb port failures. No need to worry your charging port is going to fail while you are traveling and leave you without a mobile device.

I really love the feature of combining two SIM cards in one cell phone. Before I had to carry my personal phone and company phone, and now I am only carrying this slim designed decent looking piece of art. The picture quality is outstanding considering the price. I've had this phone for a week and everyday I feel like I found something new out of it. Truly worth every penny spent on it.

My husband and I both bought this phone. He dropped his and found only one repair shop all the way in Addison that would work on Asus phones. They of course could not fix it. Several months later, I dropped my phone (very light drop) and the screen was not shattered but the display would not work. Apparently this is a common problem with this phone. From what I am told and have experienced myself, Asus phones are very fragile and it is impossible to find a repair shop in the DFW area that can work on them. I absolutely loved the long battery life and great camera, but it needs to be designed to be a little more durable. Also because Asus phones are less common in America, it was very difficult to find cases or screen protectors that are drop proof/tested. I will now only buy more common phones (apple, samsung, LG) so that the repairs shops will be able to fix them if the need arises.
