Good for AT&T, Poor for T-Mobile

This phone feels fantastic in the hand. The weight of the battery and the quality of the materials used give it a really premium feel. The battery is impressively massive, the screen is bright, clear, and colorful, and the camera takes sharp photos. The phone also has an update to Android 7.1.1. Fantastic.
HOWEVER. This phone was released 2nd quarter on 2017, and lacks Band 12. Band 12 is T-Mobile's newest LTE band, and is the one they're aggressively rolling out. That means this phone is a no-go for T-Mobile Customers. The Moto G5+ that replaced the ZenFone3 Zoom we purchased gets excellent reception where the Zenfone gets NONE. No matter the quality of the phone, it's worthless without the correct frequency bands.
This is a truly bizarre omission from an unlocked phone in 2017.
The phone also omits support got 5GHz wifi and has no NFC.
TL;DR: Great hardware, giant battery, nice camera, microSD slot, up-to-date Android OS. Missing LTE bands for T-Mobile. Buy for AT&T, Skip for T-Mo. No Wifi calling even with updated OS.

I purchased this phone because of the battery life. I can get 2.5 days out of it, even with heavy cellular usage at events and conferences. The camera takes excellent photos and videos. The mics do a great job capturing loud live music clearly. The only qualm I have is the phone does not get LTE data on AT&T. I've called AT&T to remedy the issue with no luck. Just gets normal 4g speeds around 5-8mbs down and 2-4mbs up. The device comes with a nice clear silicon case.

I LOVED this phone.... for the first 5 months I had it. Then, it's battery started draining, the apps started crashing more, and mostly annoyingly, the screen is covered in dark grey streaks. They aren't always there, they appear and disappear more or less at random - sometimes they won't be there for days at a time, but they always come back, and they move around the screen depending on where the color black appears on the screen. On top of that, the fantastic camera is now useless as my phone crashes every time I open the camera app. Since my phone is less than a year old I'm trying to get it fixed under warranty, but I've been attempting to go through ASUS customer service for over a week now and their customer service is terrible. They accept almost nothing as proof or purchase (I had to drive back to the best buy I purchased the phone at to show them the original credit card they still won't accept the receipt!), are slow to communicate, and quoted my false information about my phone being out of warranty when I first contacted them. Wish I could recommend this phone, but if it fails on you, good luck.

Three of these phones I've taken out. 2 of them had white pixel lines appear, and I'm not waiting for the third to do so after the 14-day return time. It's a reported and known issue. There's even a formal petition in Change.org for ASUS to recall these phones because of it.
