A tribute with subtlety
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Baby Driver is actually an homage to old 1970's car exploitation films. You wouldn't know it from the look of the film, or the design of the sets, but if you're a fan of those movies, like The Driver, Vanishing Point, Gone In 60 Seconds, or even Smokey And The Bandit, you'll understand exactly what I mean. The movie features all actions scenes synced to whatever song is playing on screen, like a music video, but with high speed auto action. I wouldn't say there's a lot of new ideas happening here, but that doesn't mean the over all film isn't a fun ride. While it felt familiar to me, not in a bad way, i can imagine for those that haven't seen those films i mentioned earlier, you might have a totally different experience with the film.

Fast & Furious, but so much more
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Baby Driver is one of those rare cinematic experiences that only gets richer with repeated viewings. The first time through it's a heart racing heist film with alot of heart, but watch it a second time and really think about what you're seeing. From the single take coffee run with choreographed writing on the wall to the meaningful color coding of just about everything, the film is full of surprises, metaphors, obscure references and hidden meaning. Baby Driver is a terrific ride that I can't recommend highly enough!

What a Ride!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally just rented this movie, but once I saw it I had to own it. The intense action of the getaways is enhanced by the great score of the movie that is woven into the plot as the music that Baby is actually listening to during his driving due to having an ear problem. The movie does well to really get you invested in Baby's character and his motivations throughout. The cast really worked well with each other too. There is even well put together romance arc if that is your thing. A lot to love from such a great movie!

A surprise has arrived!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be blunt, I didn't expect much when I picked this one up. Another action flick to kill some time with during a slow afternoon. Was I surprised, not only were the action sequences done well, but the acting wasn't subpar as it usually is in these type of movies. Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx both did well portraying their roles as "bad" guys in this film, and the lead, played by Ansel Elgort was an interesting attempt to create a new style of character. Definitely worth a shot. You may be as surprised as I was!

A new favorite
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this movie! I only wish they could have kept up the premise from the start of the movie and worked it throughout. The writer admittedly says he had the first 12-15 minutes of this movie thought out since he was young (teens or early 20's) and you can tell because it is excellent. He just couldn't keep the punch up through the whole thing. I also think there was a darker turn that maybe wasn't as necessary but still worked. Loved the ending although a bit unrealistic. Worth the watch no matter what.

One of the most original films of the year!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the opening title sequence to the music picked for the ending credits, 'Baby Driver' feels like a puzzle where the pieces fit so well together you no longer even see the lines. It's funny, insightful, and doesn't shy away from the insane car chases. In a day and age where we watch more and more of our movies through a streaming service, this is one I went out of my way to buy and have in my physical collection at home.

Great movie, better format
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion, the only way to buy movies now is with 4K discs. For only $10 over blu-ray prices, you get a 4K disc with the blu-ray and no longer have a useless DVD. Add to that the digital copy and it's actually a great deal. Baby Driver is a great movie with nonstop action that greatly benefits from 4K. Dolby Atmos takes the sound to another level as well. If you have a 4K HDR/Atmos system at home, why would you buy any other format?

Don't let the title fool you.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film is absolutely FANTASTIC. The title threw me off when I fist saw mention of it. But I'm glad that I did bite the bullet and purchase it. The pedigree of Edgar Wright (Shawn of the Dead) shines brightly as you watch it. It's like watching a Cameron Crowe film, but with a ton of great action scenes, because the soundtrack really moves the film along in a great way. So don't let the title fool you. This IS an incredible film.

A MUST_SEE FOR CAR-CHASE FANS!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie is an action-packed crime film with alot of car chases and precision driving. the special features are numerous including commentaries and breakdowns of various scenes. The previews are a bit of a disappointment as most of them are movies of different genres not related to the film.

Excellent movie, great quality picture & audio
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've probably seen Baby Driver about 3 or 4 times. The quality of the blu-ray is excellent. Same with the audio, most notably the Dolby Atmos mix, which is one of the best I've heard. Even better than the quality, is the movie itself. A great, stylized action movie from Edgar Wright. I highly recommend this 4k.

Rhythmatic Heist
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much love was put into this movie by director, Edgar Wright. The whole movie has a rhythm about it and it isn't until that rhythm is disrupted, that things start to go awry. It's incredible to be listening to the soundtrack in the movie and everything that's going on in the scene is timed perfectly with the track. Plus, all the great heist action with twists is there making this one film that rarely misses a beat.

More interesting than most car chases
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As car chase movies go, this is an interesting one. The driving looks like real world driving instead of cars flying through the air between buildings and being dropped out of airplanes. "Baby," the main character, is actually someone whose personal life you, the viewer, might care about, and his personal development is a big part of the movie. But it's still a car chase movie, not my favorite type of movie. The sound track has a dominant role. In most movies, the sound track is secondary to the visual action. In this movie the visuals are synced to the sound track, and that adds some interest.

NOT ABOUT AN ACTUAL INFANT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie is about a driver whose name is Baby. He is not an actual baby, because that would be ridiculous. I mean... can you imagine? a three month old infant driving cars really fast with Jon Hamm in the back seat? Babies are supposed to be in car seats that face the back. If it was a baby, it wouldn't be able to reach the steering wheel from the backfacing car seat. And Jon Hamm would just drive since he is not a baby.

ambivalent film viewing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So i love edgar wright and john Hamm is superb in this film and visually it is stunning but I simply could not give it the 4 star rating because Kevin Spacey has ruined yet another film.

It's a movie. I'm a collector. 'nough said.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have watched the first chase scene, but ran out of time for the whole thing. Not a bad chase scene, but the chase scenes in 'TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A.' and 'SEVEN UP' are better. And, to all of those who think the chase scene in 'BULLITT' is good, you really have to wake up...There is no way for anyone to drive down a steep street in San Francisco, turn a corner, and be racing through the hills above South San Francisco, turn another corner and be racing down Third Street on the San Francisco waterfront and across the lift bridge near the train depot. Really stuipid!!!!!!!

A unique experience!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film is fantastic. It's like watching Grand theft auto the movie. There is plenty of violent set pieces to around, and it is set to a very interesting soundtrack. In fact, the music played throughout, flows with the onscreen action. Edgar Wright directed this film. It's a far cry from the projects he made with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. This is an extraordinary piece of work that you will not soon forget!

Great movie/great soundtrack
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Baby Driver (clearly named after the Simon & Garfunkel song) is an ode to both music and crime films. It follows B-A-B-Y Baby, the driver for a revolving gang of robbers, who wants (and has earned his way) out of the gang, but is unable to get away. Add in a love interest (hello, Lily James), non-stop action, and great songs by every band from Queen to The Damned, and you've got another Edgar Wright classic.

Unique "Bank Robber/Getaway Driver" Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was such a treat- it's not that often that a movie comes along that sets itself apart from what has already been done before. This movie truly delivers a unique storyline. The acting is superb and seeing Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm and Jaime Fox be "bad guys" and playing the part so well is definitely one of the best parts of this movie. The 4K version lives up to the reviews- you will not be disappointed!

Awesome tracks that inspire the ride
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The opeing sequence rocks (in so many ways)! Great introduction to the charaters and from there it doesn't let up. The motivations become very apparent in the first act and makes you care enough to cheer for the criminals' success. Bu-ray picture is a bit soft and lacking some of the finer details you would typically see, but still a strong picture. Audio is clear and the music tracks are exceptional.

Mediocre at Best
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sometimes you get excited when you read raving reviews of a film. You buy the hype but are then disappointed when reality sets in. That describes this movie to a tee.
