Return to Arkham is a fine place to start.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With their sense of freedom and loving grasp of the Dark Knight's comic universe, 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum and its 2011 sequel, Batman: Arkham City, are two of the best superhero games ever made. Batman: Return to Arkham brings both games - and all their DLC - to the current generation of consoles, but an unremarkable graphical upgrade doesn’t do them justice. That’s not to say it’s not noticeable. Textures in Return to Arkham are much sharper: Batman’s suit, for example, looks much more detailed. His cape in particular stands out beautifully, pebbled, catching the light. The bigger issue is performance. For a remastered version of older games, it’s disappointing that neither Asylum nor City runs at 60 frames per second - they’re both targeting 30. In fact, Asylum suffers from some odd stutters when Batman runs through a corridor or turns a corner. The issues aren’t bad enough to interrupt combat flow, but occasional chugging is a noticeable distraction. Outside of the two campaigns, all the DLC challenge maps and additional skins are here, so you can play as 1970s Batman - or even better, animated Batman - from the get-go. But there’s nothing to differentiate the extra content from what was included in the Game of the Year editions, and the lack of making-ofs or behind-the-scenes details is a missed opportunity. If you’ve never played Arkham Asylum and Arkham City and own a current-gen console, Return to Arkham is a fine place to start. But for those who already own both on PC or last gen, there’s no real reason to pick this up beyond a rather uninspiring and technically disappointing graphical upgrade.

Really Good Remaster of Two Classics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Both games in this collection play as well as they did when they came out, and run much smoother with stable frame rates and greatly improved loading times. Overhaul of the graphics makes environments look brilliant, and while character models are touched up some they still show their age. Batman oddly looks much uglier, particularly in the face due to details of certain facial features being more enhanced than they were on the previous gen of consoles. Aside from those few quirks, I'd say this is a remastered collection worth recommending.

Still one of the best games ever made
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you never played the Akrham Series, then you're in for a treat. This is one of my favorites series, and one of the best games based on a Super Hero. This game includes Arkham Asylum and Arkham City from the PS3/360 Gen. It has updated Graphics and framerate, which all looks and runs beautifully. The only gripe about this change is the atmosphere of areas seems to be brighter than before. Though it's not too much to kill the enjoyment of the game. The games have a fantastic cast for the characters with actors from the animated series reprising their roles such as Kevin Conroy as Batman, and Mark Hamill as Joker. There a lot of content and side missions in both games to keep you busy for a very long time. My other criticism about this collection is that Arkham Origins is not part of of it. I know its not made by Rocksteady but it's still part of the Arkham timeline, so its relatively important to to the lore. So if you never had the chance to play the games, pick this up and prepare to go on a journey of a life time.

Worth the buy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This really takes me back! I forgot how great these Arkham batman games were. As far as this PS4 version of the games they are fantastic. Great graphics for what they are to boot. Arkham Asylum and City were the best out of the 4.

Excellent update of two classic games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a huge fan of Batman, especially the Arkham series of games. I have played Arkham Asylum and Arkham City previously on the Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively. I gave my old systems and games to my nephew when I moved, so this was the perfect opportunity to upgrade to the next-gen versions. These games are still very fun, even though I played them both to death on the last generation systems. The gameplay is still smooth, the stories are great, and the voice acting is top notch. The graphical upgrade is nice, although still not quite up to the level of polish seen in Batman Arkham Knight. The inclusion of all previously-released DLC is also nice, but the omission of the Batman Arkham Origins game is a little disappointing. That game was not as well regarded, and made by a different developer, but I still enjoyed it on PS3 and would have liked to see it included in this collection. This is a must-buy for fans of Batman and/or action games who never played Asylum and City. There really isn't anything new here for people who still own the games on last gen systems, but if you don't have access to the old games anymore and/or want a graphical upgrade, go for it.

Awesome Games, angry with Sony
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These two games are some of the best video games ever made! This is especially true if you're a Batman fan. For many Kevin Conroy is the only Batman and Mark Hamill is the only Joker and both give great performances. The graphics and intuitiveness of the controls are top notch and the story is strong and engaging. The only negative is not with the games themselves, but with Sony and the PS4. I already owned these games in their original format for the the PS3. Why should I have had to pay $50 a second time to play them in the PS4? Sony is just being greedy. I did not pay full price and I don't recommend that you do either.

Batman loves to talk to himself.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A collection of two of the best adventure brawlers ever created. You play as a psychotic vigilante named Batman in order to take down his most notorious enemy: Common Sense. Batman never seems to fully grasp the idea of sending The Joker to a court of law in order for him to be sent to a Max Pen where he'll spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement unable to hurt anyone else. Nope, instead he will be sent back to the Asylum he constantly breaks out off. Only this time The Joker wants to break into it so he can break out again and finally get Batman. Riveting stuff. Great remastered game with strong visuals, tight controls, and a shade of a collectathon game with the Riddler's riddles. Oh, and Batman likes to talk to himself...out loud...a lot...yeah. Get it!

great remasters of two great games
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The games were already all-time classics (and in my opinion as a big Batman fan, one of the best depictions of the character in any medium). Great story, game-play, voice cast, everything. The remastered graphics look gorgeous. And you're getting two games for the price of one.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved these two games when they first came out. So much so that when I saw that they were being rereleased and combined, I had to purchase them again. Great storyline, great gameplay, great action. Being a Batman fan, this game ticked so many boxes for me.

Great Update to a great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played the original releases of these games and this update is awesome. It looks fantastic and you get all the DLC. The really nice thing is that you get two games for less than the price of one. One of the better remastering deals.

Best remastered bundle ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start off this game franchise is remarkable and very well made, I honestly don't see an issue with these two remasters and have never encountered any bugs while playing through them. I also never updated the game because there was very little point since all add one was already applied to the game itself so no need for any additional downloads. This game franchise really makes the Batman shine and really makes him out to be a force not to reckon with. High replayability value for both, and a lot of entertaining factors.

The True Batman Experience!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing remaster, although the lighting and facial models aren't quite the same as the original this is still a breath of fresh air to experience the Arkham games on the PS4. No noticeable frame drops which is a great plus while experiencing these two nostalgic masterpieces.

Still amazing after all these years!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Arkham Asylum is still amazing! The textures and lighting have been overhauled making for a far more aesthetically pleasing game. The framerate is a solid 30 fps throughout. Arkham City also looks amazing! I only noticed a few framerate slow downs while playing. One thing I did notice though is that it seems to play and look better on regular PS4 and not Pro. Also the FMVs look very pixelated and weird on the Pro, but look fine on reg PS4. I'm sure this has to do with native 1080p output of the game and the Pro's nature to upscale to 2160p (4K). Don't let this deter you though, this collection is definitely worth your time and money!

Great way to get into Batman
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I normally never played the Batman games besides in older consoles but this got me interested in playing. I really like the graphics on this and the story lines are pretty good which has a good flow. Although I find the controls for this is a little sensitive and sometimes it is hard to navigate but it is minor so really recommend this to anyone who wants to get into Batman games.

Absolute Classics
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's a reason why both these classic games won game of the year! If you haven't played the Arkham series before, you're in for something special! The stories are incredible and the gameplay is awesome, especially in these remastered versions. Don't forget to play Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight after these as well!

The best Batman games ever made.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these because I didn’t have my own copies for the PS3. So when I saw the first 2 games were being rereleased for the PS4, I picked it up. They were just as good as I remember, plus the dlc was already on the discs. Rocksteady did a fantastic job with the Arkham trilogy (Arkham Origins was done by a different studio and isn’t as good a game).
