I bought this to replace a virtual antique waffle maker. It is exactly what I hoped it would be.
Pros: Heats up within 2 minutes and makes a dark waffle in about 3 min. The non-stick surface is excellent. No spray is needed and waffle comes right out. The booklet says not to use for anything but waffles, but I found some recipes and thought it is cheap enough to replace if I was wrong. It makes great, fluffy waffle-shaped omelets and really tasty grilled cheese without needing to coat the outside of the bread with butter. It required a bit of attention to close it at first. After it heated up,it was a great, crispy waffle-grilled-cheese.
Cons: No on/off switch, but unplugging when done is simple. The plates are not removable, but it is so stick-free I am able to clean every crevice in less than a minute with a soapy dish cloth.
For the price, it is perfect! I definitely recommend it.

I really like this waffle maker. The way to make waffles is very easy and user-friendly. It's easy to clean, use, and waffles come out delicious every time! I do have a few gripes, however:
1. I'm new to waffle makers and making my own waffles, so I went with the waffle recipes that came with the machine. These recipes fail in ingredient measurements. You need twice the amount of buttermilk called for, not to mention, each recipe claims to make 4 waffles, but I can only make 3 (and that's with the extra buttermilk).
2. The temperature settings; I'm still finding it difficult to get the perfect setting. I tried doing slightly past medium, and waffles would come out cooked on the outside, but not as well on the inside. So I made waffles by keeping it on the Light setting, but then they just take way too long to make a single waffle. Not sure where the balance is, but I'm still trying to figure it out.
3. To make a proper waffle, you have to fill the entire machine with batter, making sure every hole is covered and that not a single part of the waffle iron is exposed; this ensures a complete waffle. However, when all is said and done and the machine is rotated to cook, one side always becomes way more heavy and loose and doesn't stay straight unless if you manually hold it that way. The machine isn't broken, but it's not as sturdy as I thought it would be.
These complaints are mostly minor which is why I'm only taking off 1 star. I love this machine and now I love making waffles too!

This was my first waffle maker ever and I don't know how I never owned one. This waffle maker is very conveniently sized and makes the perfect waffles. The non stick is amazing and doesn't require butter/oil for the waffles not to stick.

I always enjoyed the waffle makers of this type that I would see used at hotel breakfasts. This model was a "Deal of the Day" item at a great price, and I couldn't resist. I'm so glad that I bought it; it's very easy to use and makes great waffles. Just find the right adjustment for the time to bake the waffle, and you will have a perfect one every time.

Excellent value for the price paid. Results are good, with good waffles. Waffles come off cooking surfaces easy without the use of sprays, oils, etc. Can make the waffles crispy or soft depending on preference. Break them into fours easily with the deep quadrant grid lines. Unit heats up quickly, though waiting an additional minute or two before starting wouldn't hurt to ensure nice hot surface/plates.
Negatives: Difficult to wash. Cannot submerge in water. The cooking surface place do not detach from the unit as some more costly units, which is understandable at this price point. Cord is a bit short, probably around 2 feet, but makes for less 'clutter' when put away.
Do not know if it's a defect on this particular unit, but the "ready' light sometimes stays lit and will not turn off even when a new batch is started. Just look at the time and peak in there though to check on cooking status of batter.
Overall would recommend to someone who wants to try making waffles or doesn't make them more than once a week or two.

I've wanted one of these for awhile, bought this one when it was on sale. Had good reviews, which is why I got it. It doesn't disappoint! I've used it a few times with a couple different kinds of batter. It hasn't stuck once! Makes nice Belgian waffles. You can even make just once section of a waffle if you don't have a lot of batter left. Easy to use, and I wipe it out with a lightly wet soapy sponge and dry when done. A great buy!

Love the hotel waffle makers so I watched the price on this and contemplated for a long time. I had a waffle maker many years ago and absolutely hated having to clean it. That was my biggest hesitation because it can't submerge it in water.
When the box arrived at my house it felt so light weight. After unpackaging it it looked much smaller than the heavy duty large square ones at hotels. Obviously, a totally different league. It could pass for a toy if it were pink and white. I wouldnt let kids operate it unless you're right there to supervise.
With all the corona virus precautions I decided to Clorox wipe the entire outside of the machine. Then I took a damp papertowel and wiped the residue/streaks away. Then I read the manual. Good thing it didn't specify not to do that. Check! I then took a new clean damp towel and wiped the griddle down. Figured the heat would take care of the rest.
I used pancake mix w an egg. Kept it lumpy as per the instructions. Used a ladle to control the amount. After one batch of trial and error, I think I have a good idea how much to use. Cook time was a lot faster than the hotel machines. Seems like you need to keep an eye on the Ready light. A bell ding might be nice.
I used a olive oil mister before each waffle and they came out great. The only drippings below came from the oil. I also played w the darkness settings but the darkness didnt seem to have any impact on the crispiness. With that said, crispiness was the only part that stood between a perfect 5 star rating from me. If you like softer waffles then you'll love this little machine! Bon appetit!
