    Fantastic Vacuum

I also had my eye on a Dyson, but when I started reading reviews for this model, I wanted to give it a try to hopefully get the same suction but for less money. My daughter has dust allergies and the filtration system seems to work great. We have a Maine coon cat, so there's always lots of cat hair to vacuum up. It vacuums well on bare floors, carpets, and even with the wand attachment (the edge of the baseboard gets really clean!). I'm always amazed at how much stuff I empty out of the canister. We have to empty it a couple times to vacuum the whole house, but I don't mind because that's just stuff it isn't leaving behind. I don't feel the model is too heavy, and I'm a woman that's 5'7" weighing about 130 lbs. It's not super light, but I figure if you burn some calories while cleaning it's a bonus. :) Love this, look no further. Have had this vacuum for 6 months, worked great on the carpets and even better now that most of the house is tile laminate.

I positivly LOVE the way this vac works. The suction is incredible and for cleaning, it really does trap the particles. HOWEVER...It Tips VERY easily and hits at the back of the heels and legs when it falls over. This is due to poor stretch of extension hose. you can't pull AT ALL! The vac also turns off too easily and often you'll turn it off while vacuming. The included attachments are minimal...sure wish it had the wide hardfloor brush. Overall the vac has been a great, but I curse it daily for falling over and tipping at the slightest tug...not easy to clean anything other than carpet safely.

After spending much more on the last vacuum (Sharps model) I was hoping to find a quality vacuum, without spending KIRBY $$$$.. Got this home and had it put together in 10 minutes.. I had just vacuumed the carpets with the pathetic and loud SHARPS before I used the new BISSELL.. I could not believe how much more dirt, dog hair, and dust it picked up. I had to dump it twice..(bagless is pretty gross).. hose for the stairs is a bit short and it could use more attachments.. It would be nice if the cord was retractable..

Absolutely amazing. It put our old vacuum to shame. I brought it home, put it together in a few minutes, and cleaned part of my living room. I couldn't believe how disgusting my floor was. It was almost embarrassing how full the bin was, with only a few passes and without moving obstacles. It was amazingly quiet, and incredibly easy to use. I was a little skeptical about the other reviews, and if this vacuum was really "that" good. It is. I would skip over all of those higher priced vacuums and go with this, you won't be disappointed. The only negative I saw was that it is a little heavy. It doesn't bother me, but I'm a 6'1 male...a 5'0 110 lb. person might have a hard time taking it up and down stairs, but even so I would still recommend this product.

We decided to get a new vacuum after we got a dog. We chose this one and love it. It works great on pet hair. I love the long hose for vacuuming the stairs. My only complaint is it doesn't make turns well.

Best vacuum I have ever had!! We have a dog, and a cat. Our old vacuum could not get the pet hair off anything! The first time we used this Bissell, I had to empty the chamber 4 times because of all the filth that was in the carpets! Oh the JOY!!! works great on the curtains, and we had a chair that the cat uses. I have been over that chair with vacuums, lint brushes of all kinds with no luck. The power attachement cleaned it right up! I reached up about 8 stair steps with the attachements. Not to shabby. It is a little messy when you empty the chamber, but find a bagless that isn't. I just took it onto the porch, wrapped a grocery bag around it and tapped the outside. worked fine. Highly recommended!

    Well designed vacuum

First of all, "bagless technology" does not necessarily mean no-fuss emptying of contents. It means you don't have to suddenly notice you have no suction in the middle of your household chores and have to run to the store to buy new bags that may or may not be in stock for your particular model. The work around is to put the canister inside of a plastic garbage bag while emptying the contents (but then is it truly "bagless"?). The features that prompted me to buy this vacuum: 1. Great customer reviews 2. Hepa filtration 3. Long 35' power cord 4. 15” wide brush bar. 5. Edge cleaning brushes on both sides of brush bar. 6. Power cord attaches high to avoid entanglement during use. 7. Well-placed attachments--particularly the telescoping wand and crevice tool. 8. Large rear wheels make pushing easier over thick carpet. 9. Headlight 10. 5-year factory warranty on parts and labor. 11. Doesn’t look garish. The features I found I liked after taking it out of the box: 1. Power cord is very flexible unlike our previous vacuum. 2. Long hose. 3. Great suction. 4. No disassembly/reassembly to convert from brush bar to hose--simply pull the hose from the conveniently located port and insert the attachment. 5. Separate power switch for brush bar located conveniently next to master power switch on handle. 6. I like clever gadgets and the Turbo Brush upholstery attachment is very clever and easily accessible. 7. Brush bar automatically turns off when handle is in full upright position unlike our previous vacuum which, if left unattended in that position for too long, would wear a bare spot in the carpet! 8. Tipping is generally an issue with uprights when using the hose, but as the manual states, leaving the hose attached to the bottom clip mitigates that problem. 9. Comfortable handle grip. 10. Low profile cleaning head gets about 6” under openings of just over 3” in height. Features that would have been nice in a vacuum in this price range, but would have probably meant sacrificing some other more important feature: 1. Retractable cord. 2. Dirt sensor. 3. Height adjustment located more conveniently than on cleaning head. 4. Lighter weight In summary, the engineers really spent some time laying out the design of this product and have produced a very easy to use product.

This is by far the best vacuum I have ever used. It made our carpet, which we were considering replacing before we bought this unit, look like it did a many years ago. I didn't realize how poorly my old vacuum was working. It picked up dirt so I thought that was how it was. This Bissell unit is incredible. Look at this one before you spend $200 or $300 more on a Dyson. Excellent unit. I read the reviews before I bought it and they were spot on. Make sure you empty the dust collector before it's totally full and you'll never have a problem with the dirt and fibers sicking in the canister. Incredible vacuum, but it is a little on the heavy side.

I have just had this product for one day, but I was amazed at what my old vacuum was leaving behind. We have 2 long haired dogs and 2 cats in the house and I had to empty it twice before I was done with my whole house mainly for all the pet hair it vacuumed up but there was a lot of dirt too. I used the turbo tool on the sofa where one of the dogs likes to sleep. A couple of times over the spot and it got all the hair. I usually have to brush it over and over and then get it with the vacuum hose. After just using it one time, the carpet and furniture look a lot better than before. I can't say enough about this vacuum.

    Great Vacuum for Pet Owners

The Bissell HealthyHome is the best vacuum I've tried in over a decade! My rugs looked brand new after a single vacuuming -- quite a feat considering I have 2 long-hair cats. Does an excellent job on berber and low carpets, as well as wood floors. The accessories quickly snap back onto the vacuum. Detachable hose is long, semi-transparent, and sturdy; plus the no-tip feature actually works. Quick-release dust canister empties out easily. I am thrilled with this purchase!

We bought this vacuum after our other Bissell went out on us. We purchased it based on peoples reviews. Definately better than our other Bissell. Taking into consideration that it was a little heavy as people were saying, we love it! It is definately just as powerful as a Dyson and way cheaper in price. Well made. It also comes with a 5 year manufacturer warranty. It is no big deal if you live by an authorized Bissell repair shop like us, but if you don't then its always good to get an extended warranty as a vacuum gets used alot. Highly recommend!

    Xcellent Vacuum

With 3 cats and 1 dog - it is the best vacuum for my wife and I. Immediately, I could not only tell the air quality was better, but all of the dander that sits in the carpeting was even pulled up. We were looking at spending $500 - $600 for the "other" type, but once we saw this was extremely affordable at half the cost - I couldnt pass it up. My cousin bragged about his "other" type for the past 4 months - its now broken. I've had mine for 5 months and its just great!!! I highly recommend this vs. the "other" type.

    Great Suction!

This vacuum is great. Most reviews say it is heavy. To me it's the type of "heavy" that comes with a quality vacuum. I am no body builder and I had no problem pushing it. We tossed our old featherlite dirt devil out and are so pleased with our new bissel. Our old vacuum was only 3 years old and just wasnt working well. That was proven to me when I brought this vacuum home and used it in our family room. Lets' just say I was grossed out by what was in the dirt cup. To think that had been on my floor and my old vacuum was just going right over it. Emptying the cup was easy and it also recommends you empty it into a plastic bag and then in the trash if you have allergy sufferers in your home. That's a wise idea. It has a long cord as well as a long hose to extend and vacuum your stairs, corners, fans, etc. The only filter that you have to replace is the airtight hepa which was $15 at Best Buy and has to be replaced about twice a year. That's a lot less than some filters cost. The other filters can be rinsed to clean. This vacuum has worked great for us so far and as with any item, if taken care of I hope will last us a long time. I have two sons. My husband, the boys, and myself all suffer from asthma and allergies. It looks like this vacuum sucked up quite a bit of dust and junk in the carpet that my other vacuum missed and with the microban and hepa filter I am hoping to see some relief!

    Great Vacuum, Great Features

This Bissell vacuum is much better than the first Bissell we purchased. It has the option to turn the floor brush off when you are cleaning so it doesn't shoot dirt across the floor like previous models. The hose stretches really far, and the turbo brush attachment work really great for the couch and around the coffee table so I don't have to move it to vacuum around it. It is a little heavy and bulky, but pretty much so are all the others. Overall, I really like it.

I really love this vacuum! I've gone through a couple of vacuums advertised on TV that just didn't do the job. After using another vacuum, I got this one and it picked up virtually everything the other one wouldn't. I was amazed by how much I saw in the canister. I also really like the attachments so that I can get all the pet hair off of my couch and chair. Best vacuum I've owned.

Money well spent! After spending money on cheaper models that did not work well, I decided to purchase this and am very happy that I did. There is good suction as this is a pretty powerful vacuum. The cons are that it is on the heavier side and the suction cord for the tools is a bit too short and awkward to use, thus why I didn't give it a 5 star rating. Overall a good vacuum.

From the moment I bought this I loved it! Having 2 dogs, and a cat I needed something that was going to work great on pet hair. The attachments have been a blessing, and the spin brush attachment is the best working I've EVER seen. My only problem is approximately 6 months after buying, the floor brush stopped working properly. I'd have to hit the canister to get it to come on, or it would just stop and go when it wanted. Now a year later & it doesn't work at all. I'm very disappointed and after reading another review that someone else was having same problems, I probably won't buy another. Bissell really should look into this, because aside from that it has been a nice sweeper to own.

This is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. I have 3 kids and lots of carpet, so it it used often. I love that it is so easy to use the hand tools with the hose and all of the attatchments actually stay on the vacuum, unlike most. I have had this vacuum so far for 6 months with no problems at all, and it still sucks up like when I first bought it.

For the money, this is really a very good Vac cleaner. I like having the power button on the top handle. The power cord is long, but wished it had the ability to recoil into the unit. Great suction. Only real problem area we had was dumping the dirt out. The trap release door gets stuck.

I love this vacuum. There are so many vacuums out there that cost hundreds more but this vacuum does the same job for less. It has the furniture attachment that gets the pet hair off or can get in smaller areas and still keeps a strong suction. Best vacuum I ever purchased!
