Don’t buy this brand

In 2023, I purchased this device for my bedroom and it functioned satisfactorily. However, two years later, the power button has ceased to operate. I contacted customer service, who advised me to perform troubleshooting, which proved ineffective. Subsequently, I was informed that the device lacks a warranty, necessitating either replacement or repair at a third-party shop.
I am perplexed by the necessity of seeking repair services elsewhere when you the manufacturer, especially considering the potential for future purchases. This experience has eroded my trust in the brand’s reliability, which is concerning given the quality of other products they offer. The customer service representative offered me a mere 20% discount or 10% if the device is currently on sale.
Having owned two blue air purifiers in the past, this incident has prompted me to reconsider my loyalty to this brand. I am now seeking a more reliable alternative.

This may be the texas cedar cure

I live in south Texas and its cedar season. I was very excited to receive this product because I currently don’t own an air purifier and this season cedar has really been bad on me. I can walk outside and I typically get hit with it immediately. So, I was hoping this would do something to help with my allergies and with any potential cedar pollen in the air.
The design is fantastic and practical. I like the round cylinder shape because it really gives you more options with placement. I chose to put this in my master bedroom, mainly because its where I spend a lot of time (sleeping) and at night when I lay down, I typically get congested and stuffy. We have our ceiling fan on high all the time so its constantly moving air around. I placed it in a corner away from the wall and it seems to be doing great there.
It came ready to rock and roll in the package. I literally opened the package, peeled off a sticker on top of the power button, plugged it in, and turned it on. There was NO setup whatsoever. Plug and play which is very convenient. I also like the fact that the outermost pre-filter that wraps around the HEPA filter is replaceable and they offer many different colors to choose from. They state the filter has approximately 6-month life spans and it is very easy to replace. The 6 months is perfect because it falls in line with my whole house air filter on my AC unit.
The air quality indicator I feel is pretty accurate. We will see it change from time to time and it seems to change when my wife vacuums the carpet in the master bedroom as well. The results of using this in my master bedroom were pretty much what I expected. I sleep very well and I am much less congested and stuffy at night. I will be purchasing another one of these units for my living room. I feel like one in the master and one in the living room would really make a difference in my home. I am very glad I got this air purifier and I highly recommend anyone in the market for one to check this one out especially because of the design, ease of use, and effectiveness.

This air purifier is read to use out of box - no configuration needed, just plug it to the outlet, power on and select mode to use. Devices has 4 modes (press once for auto mode, twice to night mode, three times to everyday mode which is medium speed and four times to boost high speed mode – fifth press will turn device off). Fan has 3 speeds and device is very quiet which makes it perfect for bedroom use. We use ours in the kid’s bedroom which seem to feel fresher than before. Very good design and great size of the unit, and since is really light weight it could be easily moved anywhere. Side LED indicator will change color from blue, orange or red to inform you on air quality. Fabric pre-filter is washable, filter is not they need to be replaced. Light indicator on the top will turn red when time to replace/clean filter. Good for rooms up to 190sq ft. Energy officiant, uses less energy than one LED bulb. Simple as it could and should be.
Pros:
Ready to use out of box
Very quiet
Easy to use
Washable filter
Energy officiant
Cons:
None so far

The Blueair Blue Pure 311 Auto is probably one of the finest air purifiers you can get. Beautifully designed, very simple to use with its one-touch button, and yet so easy to maintain. You unpack it from the box, there’s nothing to assemble, just plug it in, touch on the top button once, and the air purifier turns in in auto mode. It then takes 30 seconds for the purifier to determine the air quality, i.e., how much air cleaning is needed, and then settles on the right fan speed (low, medium, boost). There is also a visual confirmation through the front “air quality indicator” LED: Blue means good air quality, orange means moderate air quality, and red means polluted air.
Now, one of the reasons why I wanted an air purifier was to ensure I get to breathe perfectly cleaned air in my master bedroom. The good news is, when you select the “Night Mode” by pressing the top button twice, it selects the low fan speed and leaving all indicator and air quality lights off. No light pollution whatsoever. Awesome! - Not so good news: Though I knew there would be some noise from the low-speed fan, I was surprised about hearing different hums in various frequencies to the degree I wouldn’t want the air purifier turned on anymore.
However, I had another need where this air purifier is doing a fantastic job: My home office! It is a smaller room in my house where I spend lots of time due to the current pandemic, filled with lots of electronic gadgets: From laptops to desktops to printers to networking stuff (Ethernet switches, routers), where most of them run their own fans. I feel with the Blueair Blue Pure 311 Auto air purifier that I now run day in and day out in auto mode the air quality in my office has greatly improved. Much less coughing than before! For this reason alone, I am giving this air purifier 5 stars. And, if I could, I’d give another 5 stars for the design. It’s a beautiful air purifier that harmonizes beautifully with its surroundings.
P.S. The Blueair Blue Pure 311 Auto comes with two filters that need regular maintenance: (1) The fabric pre-filter which you can clean simply by vacuuming the exterior with a soft brush attachment, and (2) the Main Filter which you need to replace with a new one when the indicator light on the top button glows red.

Impressive Air Purifier, Works Well!

Designed in Sweden, under the Unilever umbrella of brands, the Blueair 'Blue Pure 311 Auto' Air Purifier is a simple, honest, no frills air purifier that does exactly what it says it will do, and does it well.
A simple plug and play, very minimalist unit, very in keeping with Swedish Style, all you have to do is plug it in and press the button on top. This sets it into auto mode, and it will kick into life, very quietly indeed. The sensors inside monitor the air quality and adjust the fan speed as necessary to clean the air in the a room up to 388 sqft. Designed for medium sized rooms, with a sleek grey outer filter (that is interchangeable with other colored filters available from Blueair), protects the main 2 stage HEPA filter from large particle debris, such as pet dander, hair and dust. The particle and carbon filter is effective against Pollen, Pet Dander, Dust, Bacteria and Viruses, VOCs (paint fumes etc), Chemicals, Smoke (cigarette), Dust Mites, Mold and Cooking Odors.
The HEPASilent filter system ensures that you get the maximum air quality in the shortest time, with minimum noise. In my experience, the sensors are sensitive, and they do react to changes in the air almost instantly. I have it set up in my master bedroom, and even walking past it, you can hear it kicking into medium speed, to counteract the stirring of the air and any particulate that may come through, in most cases it's freshly sprayed deodorant from myself or perfume from my wife. It kicks into high gear when the air quality is deemed too poor, and a red indicator lights up on the front. It works quickly and efficiently and helps get the air quality back to acceptable levels without fuss. I've noticed a marked difference in the air quality in the master bedroom, especially overnight, when you can get that 'sleepy air' odor. That has all but disappeared now, which is very nice indeed.
You can bypass the auto setting by pressing the button on the top and choose night, medium or high, or off. The night mode maintains the lowest setting, and turns off all LED illumination for uninterrupted sleep.
I do wish this feature was included in the 'auto' setting, so that it would automatically set to night mode, at a predetermined time. That would save having to adjust it every night before going to bed. This air purifier is NOT app enabled either, so you can't schedule it to come on and off at certain times. That would be a nice feature, or to be able to control it via Alexa or Google via voice would be a welcome addition.
Overall tho, this is a simple and very easy to use unit, that is really silent in it's low mode, and only kicks it up a notch when the sensors detect a change in the air quality, ramping up the fan speed. You can purchase different colored outer filters to match your decor online on the manufacturers website, and also sign up for a filter replacement program that will ship out new filters before the current ones expire, should you so choose to.

The BlueAir Pure 311 is a great little machine. As someone who suffers from many airborne allergens, I was excited to see how an air purifier would work for my situation.
I'll first remark about how "clean" and modern this machine looks. Mine has a nice grey fabric bottom with a white plastic upper piece. This fits the decor of my house very well and I imagine many others as well.
Setup is as simply as just plugging it it and pressing the "on" button. Thats it.
Pressing the "on" button multiple times puts this in various modes.
Press once for "on" mode and the fan sill auto adjust itself based on air conditions.
Press twice for night mode: this is the mode I have it on most of the time. It turns off the LED on the front as well as turns the fan low so it runs pretty quite. This is a great feature to aid in sleeping.
Press three times for "every day mode" which is medium fan speed.
Press four times for "boost mode" which cranks the fan up to high speed and helps eliminate poor air quality situations faster.
My unit has always detected good air quality so I cannot comment on how much better the air really is as I have no way to measure otherwise. I can state that I feel like I sneeze less at night and tend to sleep through the night, which is not something I've always been able to claim before I started using this machine.
My bedroom is about 400 sq feet and I keep all closet, bathroom and hallway doors closed while this is running. I tend to keep doors open during the day so I do not run this during that time, it is reserved for night time only.
Overall since I am sleeping better and this offers no annoyances at night, I cannot think of a reason not to like or recommend this unit. It's simple to operate and thoughtfully designed.

I ordered this because I have a 15 month old who doesn’t sleep as well as he should through the night. I thought this would be a good thing to try out in his room. I must admit it was much larger than I thought it would be but it covers a large area so I guess that’s the trade off.
It can be very loud until it gets the air at the appropriate level and you can adjust the fan speeds so that it isn’t as loud. It will take longer but that is the trade off. When I first unboxed it and plugged it in, I let it run at high until it was bedtime. I’m not sure if the air was really bad but I ended up turning it down to night mode so that he could sleep. He had been sleeping longer than usual since I’ve plugged it in so it was definitely worth it for us. I do think it should come with a remote control or an app that can be controlled via Bluetooth so that I can adjust it without having to go to the unit. It’s not that inconvenient to adjust the speeds but I would think something at this price point would include one of those options.
Overall, I think this is a good purifier than works in a large area and the air is noticeably cleaner in his room. I would recommend this but there are probably other units on the market that have more features.

Strong purifier for homes

One of the things we are particularly cautious about these days is our air quality. Even though most air purifiers can’t protect against pandemic-level viruses, it’s good to include them in your home to help with air circulation and the filtering of other dangerous chemicals that seep into the air. The Blue Pure 311 is a great option for homes because its easy operation and low maintenance.
The purifier arrived in its retail box, which doesn’t have a lot flair to it. It’s a simple cardboard box with blue printing on it. The details are highlighted on the box. The retail box was nested inside of a larger shipping box that also had some identifying information on it - like an outline drawing of the purifier. The purifier has its power cord permanently attached to the unit. The wall plug is quite large and will require being plugged directly into the wall or possibly across two outlets on a power strip.
Setting up the purifier is very easy. It’s ready to go right out of the box. This is a refreshing change to other purifiers that I’ve worked with that require filter installation or app set up. You take the purifier out of the packaging, plug it into power, and then tap the top of the unit to select the mode you want it to work with. I chose AUTO and just tapped the control panel once to activate it. I have to admit that it would be really nice if this were a ‘connected’ purifier so that I could see exactly what its sensors detect in the air, but that would eliminate some of the simplicity of its functionality. There is an indicator light on the front of the unit that changes colors when impurities in the air are detected. When the air is clean, the purifier’s light shines blue. It’s a very quick visual that tells you immediately if there is a problem with your environment.
There is a user manual included with the unit and it has suggestions for best performance for the purifier. In order to ensure that it can clean all the air in a given space, the purifier needs room to ‘breathe’ and shouldn’t be placed any closer than 4 inches to any given object. This can present a little bit of a problem if you are trying to hide the unit in a room. You can’t just stick it into a corner and hope it’s going to do its best work. It also suggested that you keep the room closed off while the purifier is in operation. This presents a different problem, too. If your home is anything like mine, the larger spaces are open to other parts of the house. For example, our living room has open doorways to our hallway and dining room/kitchen. Ideally, this purifier would be in the living room since it’s one of the larger rooms in the house. But for testing, I pulled it into a smaller room that didn’t exceed the size limitations of the purifier (no more than 388 sqft) and could be closed off per the user manual’s suggestion.
In this smaller bedroom, I also happen to have a air quality monitor. This room is approximately 100 sqft in size and is used primarily as an office space. My fiancé uses it to work from home as well as personal projects. She has noted that the air quality monitor that’s in the room tends to alert her to rising CO2 levels after working in the room for a couple of hours. We hoped that maybe by placing the purifier in that room that the CO2 levels would decrease with continued use. When we first plugged in the purifier and turned it on AUTO, the unit took about 60 seconds to fully boot up. When it did, the sensor detected that the air wasn’t as clean as it could be and the fans kicked onto a moderate level. Noise-wise, it’s about what someone would expect from a purifier trying to actively clean the air. After just a few minutes, the fan speed/noise decreased and the indicator light turned blue. The specs on the unit indicate that it takes approximately 12 minutes to fully cycle the air in a larger room and I noticed that after less than 10 minutes the purifier had gone to a lower fan setting and the air quality had changed (according to the indicator on the purifier). As for the other air quality sensor in the room, its readings indicated that there were still higher levels of CO2 and other air particulates in the room, but its app indicated that overall levels had decreased after an hour of monitoring it.
I’ve been fortunate to work with this brand of air purifier before and I absolutely love how easy it is to work with. Sure, I would love to have advanced monitoring options available for it, but it does a great job and I can recommend it for homes and offices.

I've been using this for the past few days and can already feel a big difference. My allergies had really been acting up over the past few weeks, especially early in the morning when I wake up.
I placed the air purifier near my bed and let it run throughout the day. It is relatively quiet, really just a whisper of the motor running. After using it for three days, my sinuses aren't as stuffy in the morning and throat isn't sore either.
The purifier has 5 settings, though I have only used the main run setting and night mode so far. Although it is relatively quiet, in a quiet room at night it woke me up when it started up, so that is when I put it in night mode.
There is also a sensor for how clean the input air is. The air in the bedroom in now clean (blue), but I didn't notice what the color was when I first turned it on. I haven't had to replace the filter yet (roughly 6 months according to the documentation), but Blueair has a subscription service where they will automatically send you replacements (~$34). Buying the replacement filters from their site when needed will cost you about $40.
Overall, I would recommend this air purifier. It seems to have made a difference with my allergies.

I have owned this for about a month. Setup was super easy. Took less than 10min to pull it out of the box and plug it in. There is a big button at the top to turn on. There are 4 modes: auto, low, medium, and high. I do not have pets and my house is fairly clean. I put this in the kitchen area by the patio door. My main goals were to decrease cooking smells and decrease the smell of my neighbors' smoking when the patio door is open. The auto kept the speed on low and would not trigger it to go to a higher speed. I manually set it to medium and it works well. It decreases the smells and how far in my house they travel, but does not totally eliminate them. It works really well as a fan just moving air. On low, it is almost silent. On medium, I can feel the air move and has been helping to keep my house cool. It is not quite as loud as the refrigerator. On high, the sound is noticeable, but I can still have conversations with it on. The fan on high moves the air and I can feel it, but it is not making papers ir curtains fly every where like crazy. It is gentle in how it moves the air, which is nice. I do not know if this is decreasing dust or allergens. I keep my house fairly clean so it is hard to tell.
My biggest complaint is that it only comes with 1 dust cover. It seems like a newer model is coming out, so it is difficult to get a second cover. Also, the sensor on auto is not super sensitive for smells. Otherwise overall decent fan.

I was impressed right from the start, and would recommend this to a friend (I bought 2, one for the living room and one for the bedroom). The product came double boxed with formed cardboard protectors on the inside instead of styrofoam (sign of an enviro-friendly company). Nothing to do but take it out of the box and plug it in. It runs on 24V DC so there is a transformer type plug which will need to go in a lower socket so as to not block an outlet. The cord is a good durable round design (not the wimpy small flat ones typically seen on power bricks).
All it takes to operate is a touch on the pad in the center of the top grill. It's touch sensitive, so each touch progresses to the next speed setting. Very quiet on low setting. Walk into a quiet room with it on and you wouldn't know it was on. Mid setting you're going to hear a soft white noise, almost soothing. The high setting is louder white noise, what I would expect from a fan moving this much air, Which brings me to this point: The air flow ratings and Sq. footage coverage as advertised are the same as the ANSI/AHAM lab testing. Not so for many other brands.
I noticed an immediate improvement in my sleep. With the smoke from these CA wild fires blocking my sinuses I used to wake up totally blocked throughout the night.
It looks great, cylindrical shape makes it easy to place almost anywhere and is improving the air quality in my home!
Done deal!

I bought two of these units, one for myself and one for my daughter. The one I bought for myself I have used in two addresses, one of which was subject to episodic VOC and plastic pollution from a Brooklyn infrastructure project. It did help. When I moved it to a cleaner environment, it worked very well with regard to eliminating cooking odors from other apartments until the inside filter that requires replacement every six months stopped working (at about 8 months). Once I replaced it the unit works perfectly. The one I bought for my daughter is in her baby's room, and did a very good job of helping with remodeling dust in the winter. However, it stopped working recently. BlueAir was great in honoring the warranty and they said every once in a while this happens. That's why I gave four stars but maybe it should be a five since they are honoring the warranty. Beautiful unit, quiet, very easy to maintain.

This air purifier is everything I was looking for. I can feel how clear the air feels in my apartment. I keep it on auto, so you can hardly hear it at all. The Blueair has a light indicator that changes color according to how healthy the air you are breathing is. Blue means clean, healthy air; orange means the air is moderate; and red means the air is polluted. I recommend this air purifier because you don't have to change the filter for 6 months and the replacement filters are very affordable.
