great outdoor speakers - note you DO need a receiver to use these speakers, so plan on spending more money for simple operation. that being said, they seem to withstand the elements and have been through many lake erie spring/early summer thunderstorms (under an overhang). the only disappointment is the lack of bass (bose is KNOWN for their bass - without the need for extra equipment) but upon further reading, it seems an equalizer and/or a sub will solve this issue. however, at their current $$ price + ($ of receiver of your choice) then + ($ of an equalizer/sub) = A LOT of money for outdoor speakers. I guess it all depends on the user, what your needs are, and how much you're willing to spend. in the future I think I would go a different route however, and find outdoor speakers that put out better low frequency sound, adding that depth and richness I've come to enjoy as I've become a more experienced 'audiophile' so would I recommend these to a prospective buyer? yes AND no. again, this product is all about what your needs are and what conditions you'll be using the speakers (i.e. total space, exposed to all elements, price you want to spend, what you'll be using them for (music [sub-type of music], TV, movies, and most importantly what you expect to get out of paying $400 for speakers + the price of an amp to actually use these!

These Bose speakers are replacing my identical 20 yr old ones which are still working and rocking after all those years!!!! Bose discontinued these speakers and I had to pick these up when I saw them on sale (open box). I highly recommend these great sounding speakers.

I purchased these to replace some older Yamaha speakers in our garage, that still worked but wanted to upgrade. These are no exception to the Bose standard, beautiful speakers with an awesome sound!! I was leery after reading some of the reviews but having a set of am10's in the house for many years, I knew they had to sound great. I was surprised at how large these are, they look massive hanging on the wall, but I am not complaining!! I also bought a new Onkyo receiver to power them and what a difference. They have a very sturdy mounting bracket that holds the speakers securely to the wall. The highs are very clear no matter what power level, it's like standing in a sound stage. They have plenty of bass also for the size of the speakers, overall, a very rich sounding set of speakers. I can only imagine how they would sound outside; in fact, I may purchase another set just for that. I wanted to get the black ones but weren't available at the time, no regrets with the white ones though. Very happy with the build quality and sound of the 251's, I would recommend them to anyone looking for an outdoor/rugged speaker with great sound!!

Have had them a few weeks out on a 35’x30’ deck facing a windy marsh, about 12’ high. The sound is phenomenal- what I expected from Bose and a bit more. Great frequency range for all types of music! Easy to mount on siding, easy to connect and disconnect with banana plugs. One flaw - the mounts allow for vertical adjustments only, can not direct them left or right so you have to fanagle your mount to set up a sweet spot on non-square spaces. If you think you need two pairs like I thought, you should try one pair first!

This speakers are so awesome. I got these with the amp for the backyard. Two are literally enough for great sound and loud enough to be heard through out the yard. The setup was easy and the phone app was simple enough. I would definitely recommend these.

The 2 speakers provide quality sound on the new patio and pool area. Nice and clean with easy mounting.

This was an upgrade to my outdoor speaker setup. I originally had a soundbar with subwoofer, then a 5.1 htib but once I got those two installed, nothing else compares. Easy setup, came with brackets all I had to get was speaker wire. I also installed a volume control knob and they do not crackle during adjustment. Thank you boose!

the best outdoor speakers, totally recommend them, I'm adding this as 2nd pair for my patio, where I have an Insignia amplifier for 2 sets of speakers.

Lome my new speakers , they sound prety clear and loud, base is pretty deep, mixed with bose amp, just the best

Had the 151se speakers for a few year and they started sounding tingy. What a difference! Sound is amazing and bass is good enough for the amount sound we need to play music around. Definitely recommend these. Enjoy!

These speakers are a great value for what they are. Great sound at a reasonable price. I looked at alternatives like Yamaha, Polk, Sonos, Sonance & Definitive and the Bose were the best balance of sound vs price.

I have two sets of Yamaha speakers (Model:NS-AW390WH) and then added these to my backyard. What a difference they made. Brought a bunch of low end to the yard and can handle everything the receiver has to offer. The Yamaha's break up but the Bose just get louder. Might have to look into getting one more set of these to complete the sound system. I'm running the system in 7 channel stereo, with the two Bose as the main fronts, pair of Yamaha's as the high front channel with the remaining Yamaha's as the rear set.

The 251's have been installed on the ceiling of my patio and are accompanied by a pair of Bose Freespace speakers around the pool. I have it all driven by the Bose amp and fed by the Soundtouch bluetooth integrated devices for a total Bose outdoor solution. Words just cannot express the sound quality and listening pleasure as an audiophile that my family and i are experiencing!

I've only had it for a few weeks but sound is must better than previous speaker. Has rained on it a few times with no problems. Good volume with no distortion.

I bought these speakers for my outside deck for my business. Bose speakers have been second to none for years. I’ve owned other Bose speakers for years. that’s why when I think of speakers, I think of Bose.

Bought these as a gift for the family. The sound is wonderful and installing was simple.

I have upgraded my old Yamaha Outdoor Speakers in my patio area with these ones Bose Speakers; and altough the Yamaha Speakers sounds great; these ones are in a superior level by far; the bass are loud and free of any distorsion along with a best treble.

Excellent sound !! Easy installation!! Would recommend these for any outdoor area .
