Sound like no other, I feel like I am in a theater. The sound is so crisp with absolutely zero distortion! I added my 12 in velodyne sub for more base andnits great! Wouldn't waste my money on another sound bar. I tried the top of the line definitive bar andnit was garbage! Bowers and Wilkins panorama 2 is the real deal! It also looks amazing on my TV stand!

Amazing sound for sound bar, but pricey

If you want amazing sound in your house, go with Bowers and Wilkins...you won't regret the quality of their sound. That said, if you can get a proper B&W 3.1 (or better) home stereo system installed in your house, go with that. This Panorama sound bar costs exactly the same, but the quality is not as good as what you would get with a proper home stereo system. Unfortunately, I had design configuration issues in my house that restricted me in installing the B&W home theater system as I wanted. Now that you know the background, here's my take on the B&W Panorama:
First of all, I'm totally enjoying the sound...the tweeters inside this sound bar are super sharp. The installed subwoofers are good, but not great...you will definitely need to add on an extra subwoofer to complete this system. Watching TV and Movies has never been better for me. I compared this against the Sonos sound bar and a few other high-end sound bars at Best Buy's Magnolia center, and this Panorama is 10x better quality in sound (IMHO)
But for the super high price you pay, there are several downsides to consider:
1. There are wires everywhere!!! It's not wireless like Sonos, so be ready to have HDMI cables running everywhere
2. It requires an HDMI(arc) or HDMI output from your TV to really have it play well with your other Audio/Visual equipment. My TV is 4 years old and doesn't have HDMI output, so I had to use the Optical output...not ideal, but I'll live with it until I upgrade my TV. Currently the system gets "overloaded" at times between all my A/V equipment and the lack of clean HDMI inputs/outputs between each, so I have reset it every now and then.
3. Every now and then the signal cuts out for a second. Several other people have mentioned this experience too. I don't know why, and I can't replicate it on-demand, so you just have to live with it when it happens
4. The actual casing is quite bulky...not exactly easy to put in front of your TV...I had to raise my TV up on several 2x4s to avoid the speaker from cutting off the bottom of the screen
5. The remote control looks cool, but very impractical
6. Auto switching between devices is hit or miss...sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't...clearly a bug in the internal electronics
So my net summary: If you can get a proper B&W home theater system, go with that. If you can't, and you have the money to drop on a sound bar, this is the best sound bar for the quality of sound you get, but keep in mind that you're trading off on all the other "convenience factors" that other sound bars on the market may give you.

I was originally looking at the Sonos soundbar with the available sub for the living room tv. My wife was adamant that I needed to cut back on the amount of speakers in the living room seeing that we have a seperate home theater room so i conceded. I liked the features of the Sonos because of the easy connectivity with bluetooth to connect phones via bluetooth but wasn't overly blown away by the sound so the salesmen demoed the b&w speaker for us. We've had it now for a month and i can say it was well worth the purchase, surround sound is adequate for watching tv or movie from apple tv, sound quality for music is unbelievable. We were originally told that it has bluetooth but that is not the case, since we are an apple phone family the apple tv works just as well for streaming music to the speaker. Overall we are very happy with the speaker and would recommend to anyone looking for an audiophile grade speaker.

I went to Best Buy looking for a home theater system! The system with the rear speakers gave better surround feel. My walls are plaster in my home and my space is not huge! I heard the Panarama 2 and was very impressed with the sound quality! It does throw the sound utilizing your room vey well. It simulates surround sound utilizing the walls in your room! Hookup is simple, with the three hdmi inputs! It has one hdmi which sends to your tv! Another nice feature is when you turn on the tv the unit comes on automatically! Also if you turn the tv off the sound bar goes off! It is also beautiful to look at! I got the Bowers and Wilkins sub woofer to add to its brilliance! The sound bar itself had a very good bass sound without the sub!! I also like that if the volume is low on the sound bar the sub doesn't come on. My wife likes this!!!! I think my favorite thing is how even it is! Everyone has been watching movies where you can't hear the dialogue! You turn the volume up to hear it! All of a sudden a plane explodes and your scrambling for the remote to turn the volume back down! This unit is perfectly balanced! It's got a lot of power! There is no uneven sound issues! This product is expensive for a soundbar! The price has come down from original! To me, if the the product has no down sides functionally, it worth the money!

Looks good, easy replacement for an AV Receiver

In our case, the B&W Pan0rama 2 Soundbar was a drop in replacement for an AV Receiver and conventional speakers. It takes up way less room, handles the HDMI switching tasks without degrading the picture or sound, and sounds good too.
It has plenty of bass for our taste without adding in a separate subwoofer, and the TV dialog is very clear. Unlike conventional speakers, there is no issue with making sure the center channel speaker has the same "voice" as the other speakers. This pretty much gives ou drop it into place, connect it up, and enjoy. No hassle, no heavy duty configuration.
It is worth going through the simple configuration screens to tell the device about the environment it is in. Is it mounted on the wall or sitting on a shelf? Are there hard (or soft) walls close to the right or left side? Where is the sitting area?
All those are answerable in under 5 minutes using the included remote control.
Once you figure out which end of the thing is which. The remote control is the biggest downside. It is shaped like an egg, and you have to look at the thing to figure out which end is the top. It works acceptably well, but it is anything but a joy to use.
Fortunately, you can train an Apple TV remote to turn the volume up and down, and since the device will recognize CEC switching, with relatively modern DVD or streaming players, you will almost never have to manually switch the input. It also behaves nicely and turns itself off when you put the TV or Apple TV to sleep. Just as it should.
All in all, even at the nice discount being offered by Best Buy on the unit, it is still a little pricey. But it has a great "Wife Acceptance Factor" - as in it looks great, is simple to use, and kind of disappears into the decor. At least it does here.

B&W Panorama II Sound Bar

This speaker sounds great for music. I was not impressed with the surround sound. It really didn't deliver. I must admit my room is not ideal with a walk way to one side and it was off center, so I know some of this was my fault. I just figured for the extra money it would be better than the cheaper ones on simulated surround. Bottom line is for surround there is no substitute for a true 5.1 setup. Sounds great for music and to make your TV sound better but for the price it's not worth the purchase, you can get the same out of something cheaper. I know audiophiles will disagree with this next statement but I returned this and got the Sonos Play Bar, Sonos Sub and 2 Play:3's and to me they sound way better and cost about the same.

Clear 5.1 and 7.1 sounds. Subwoofer sounds do not shake the walls but distinct sound. Easy set up. Automatically paired with my TiVo remote. Got rid of speaker wires. This sound bar is approved by the wife. She could not take the old sub woofer and A/V that we did have. I actually think the sound bar sounds better that the 5.1 A/V system we did have. So far this is well worth the price. I am very happy with and am glad I bought this B&W Panorama 2 sound bar.

Instructions were just OK for install and setup. I'm still unclear on the settings for my Sub Woofer. It is nice to be able to hook up with all HDMI cables. Being able to hook up an external Sub Woofer was one of the main reasons we purchased this Sound Bar. Sound quality is really good for Sports, TV shows and OK for Movies. Overall looks of the Sound Bar is really nice only thing I could say is it is a little big.

I was going to buy a different sound bar, but the sales rep suggested this one. The sound quality is sooooooo good! And it is very powerful. We have no problem filling our 500 sq ft room with sound.
One thing - it is very big.
Another thing - the remote is really inconvenient.

The sound is amazing, the only thing that could make it better is if it were a little thinner. The sound is crisp and has dimension. I usually read every review before purchasing but this one was spur of the moment. Very happy with purchase

Bought this unit in January for the Super Bowl to stream the game as I don't have a coax output on the back porch. It sounds very good as it should at this price point. It has HDMI in and out which should make it easy to set up, but I was disappointed when my Mitsubishi Laser TV got a great picture from both Apple TV and a Fire stick using both Hulu and Sling, but both devices did not play any sound through it when I hooked them to the sound bar first and the HDMI out to the TV HDMI in. Hooked it up to a small Sony and it worked fine, but only after a dozen or so attempts. It worked fabulously with my projector outside so I am a happy camper.
