This espresso machine is pretty good for the price. Takes a bit of practice finding the right grind settings. Tried a few different beans and found that the basic french roast from my local sams club actually tasted and ran the best shots with the prettiest crema. I would have given the machine 5 stars except the steam wand seems kind of weak and spurts a water stream for the first 10 seconds of operation. I used to work as a barista and was used to running a 20k machine though so my opinion on the steam wand may be a little jaded. If you like espresso, I would reccomend buying one of these for your home. It gets the job done well. I havent had a cup from anywhere except home since making this purchase.

I absolutely love my Breville Barista Express Impress Espresso Machine. It has completely changed my morning routine and made it so easy to enjoy café quality espresso right at home. The machine feels incredibly well made and professional, but it is still simple enough to use every day without feeling intimidating. One of my favorite features is the Impress puck system. It takes so much of the guesswork out of tamping and helps create a consistent shot every time. I used to struggle with getting the right amount of coffee and the right pressure, but this machine makes the process smooth and almost effortless. The built in grinder is another huge plus. Being able to grind fresh beans immediately before brewing makes a noticeable difference in flavor and freshness. The espresso itself comes out rich, smooth, and flavorful, and the steam wand works great for making lattes and cappuccinos with beautiful, creamy foam. I also appreciate how customizable the machine is, so I can adjust things depending on the beans I am using or the type of drink I want. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase. It feels like having a high end coffee shop in my kitchen, and I genuinely look forward to using it every single day. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves espresso and wants to upgrade their at-home coffee experience.

I recently upgraded to the Breville Barista Express Impress, and it’s been a game-changer for my morning routine! What stands out is its ease of use. Once you get the settings dialed in, making espresso is a breeze. The assisted tamping feature is a standout, significantly reducing the time and effort needed to prepare a shot. As someone who loves frothy milk in their coffee, the steam wand on this machine is impressive - it consistently delivers great milk foam, rivaling the best I’ve used. The balance between automation and manual control is just right, offering a personalized espresso experience without the complexities often associated with high-end machines. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned barista, this machine caters to all levels of expertise. What’s more, I can whip up a delicious coffee in just about 5 minutes every morning! If you’re considering a reliable, user-friendly espresso machine that doesn’t compromise on quality, the Breville Barista Express Impress is definitely worth considering.

This is my first espresso machine and it is a great entry point. One thing I learned it that there is quite a science to espresso if you want optimal results. The machine makes a difference but so does things like grind size, tamping, dose amount, and extraction time. There is more to it than taking it out of the box, putting in coffee, and pressing a button. I learned this in researching which machine to get so I knew what I was getting into. The Impress is a semi-automated machine that once it is 'dialed-in' only takes a few minutes to get great results each time. It does take some practice, and lots of youtube videos, if you want to get a perfect shot...or as close to it as possible. The dosing and 'assisted' tamping takes one of the variables out of the espresso making process which makes things a little easier for newbies. I still haven't mastered steaming of milk but even with my mistakes my espresso drinks still taste great. It seems to be fairly easy to keep clean which is nice and there is not a lot of maintenance. It is a nice looking machine and it seems to be well built with a lot of mental and not a lot of plastic. So it is a pretty hefty price tag but seems to hit a nice spot of price/quality/results considering machines can go from about $100 to thousands of dollars. I would recommend this machine but I would advise watching videos on dialing it in as well as how to steam milk. There isn't a ton out there on the Impress since it is pretty new but if you look for the 'Breville Barista Express' videos as well it is basically the same machine outside of the assisted 'tamping'. Happy Espresso making!

We recently bought the "Impress" model of this awesome Espresso maker model. Previously we had an older Barista Express for 10 years or so and decided to upgrade. What's really nice about this upgraded model is the redesigned coffee dosing feature which in addition to precise dosing for each cup, the feature is much much cleaner in terms of coffee grounds all over the place and in the catch tray in the older models. We use it virtually 5 times a day, every day. Better more predictable coffee and way much less coffee ground mess. We love the new machine. Comes in different color schemes - white, black and chrome - we got chrome like the old one we had. The price is good too.

I’ve been using this machine every day and I’m very happy with it. The built-in grinder is consistent, the Impress tamping system makes the process much easier, and the espresso quality is excellent once you dial in your beans. It heats up quickly and the steam wand produces smooth milk foam for lattes and cappuccinos. The stainless steel finish also looks great in my kitchen. It takes a little practice at first, but after a few days it’s easy to use. Overall, it’s a fantastic investment for anyone who enjoys making café-quality coffee at home.

I love coffee shop drinks but I got tired of spending coffee shop money every day. I also just think baristas are really cool and wanted to learn how they do it. This machine was pretty simple to use out of the box (for me). Luckily when I purchased this, a Breville representative was in the store and gave me a very thorough demo and I was sold on this. I didn't find that I needed to adjust any settings on it. One thing to note is that the stream wand on this is probably the weak link. For this reason I want to take away a half a star or maybe even a full star. It does take a bit long to steam milk and I never get that perfect silky texture. I've found that I opt for my separate milk frother/steamer if I want to make anything close to latte art.

Even better than our original breville express that last 7 years. This machine is worth the upgrade over the express. The new tamping system is very accurate and nice for consistency. Great flavor and overall quality machine for the price. Easy to operate.

Great espresso machine the directions are easy to understand. As the instructions advise buy recently roasted coffee beans

Please don’t expect to open the box and pull a perfect shot of espresso on the first 15 attempts. It won’t happen. Buy cheap beans (medium to dark roast only) to dial in the settings first. My machine does not give me a choice to use auto grind for some strange reason. I just can’t get it to work on auto grind. However, I learned to just measure out each dose exactly 18 grams with the grinder set to 5 and the fine grinder dial set to the beans. This changes when you change beans, so be patient. This machine takes many attempts to get the golden crema double shot that I prefer. Once everything is dialed in perfectly, then the machine does its job and produces an amazing shot of espresso. So, if you are willing to embrace the major learning curve, accept that auto grind may or may not work (it only worked one time for me), and go through many trial and error attempts, then in the end, the rewards are plentiful. I just want consumers to be informed of the work it takes to pull of the golden shot! Lastly, I had no issues with the steamer. I use a thermometer to get the temperature to 150, and the milk is perfect every time. Good luck on your Breville journey, it does pull amazing shots when everything is dialed in. (I like to mix the freshest beans: 60% dark roast and 40% medium roast. I get chocolate and caramel notes that rival coffee shops). This machine can do the job!

This replaced my old Barista Express. Getting a consistent dose with Smart Dosing and a level Tamp is easy. Just slip your portafiller into the cradle, grind your beans and gently pull down the arm. No more struggling with tunneling. This machine gives two dose grinding options for those who still like to do it the old way, you still can . It’s a easy machine to use and makes great espresso.

We've had a great time with this small but impactful machine. We're a few weeks in and my 4yo pulls about 2-4 double shots a day on it.... On his own. It's that easy to use. I have to help him fully push the portafilter all the way in (tight seal) but its such an easy machine my son can use it. We love it! We dialed the shots in to pull ristretto, as we like a shorter shot, and it was pretty easy to do. My husband and I used to own a coffee shop and are pretty picky about our coffee. This has been a wonderful add to our household. The auto leveling tamper can seem unnecessary, but I'm telling you ... If you can swing the extra cost it's totally worth it. Very fast, satisfying, and keeps a clean countertop. Highly recommend!! Oh, and the steam wand makes beautiful microfoam. I recommend also getting a tamp box for your spent grounds. We got the Dreamfarm Grindenstèin in red and love it. Looks sharp and is super helpful. Happy espresso'ing!

I recently got my hands on the Breville Barista Express Impress, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer for anyone just diving into the espresso world. This machine is super user-friendly, so it's a breeze for beginners like me, but it also has all these cool settings that let you play around and get more into the nitty-gritty of espresso making. The build quality feels top-notch, really sturdy and professional. Plus, it's got an integrated grinder, which means I'm always using fresh grounds - a total win for flavor. In a nutshell, if you're looking to step up your home coffee game and enjoy the process, this machine is a solid choice. It's like having a mini coffee shop at home!

I LOVE THIS MACHINE! Second Breville-- I had the OG Barista Express. One of my biggest issues with the old one was how much of a mess it would create (especially before getting a grinder extension). This automatically grinds the beans in place, making far less mess!! And, if it over- or under-grinds the beans, you just hit the grind button again and it will top it off for you. It remembers this, and the next time you grind, it grinds the perfect amount. And the tamping arm delivers a perfectly tamped puck. I use this at least once a day if not 3-4 times (my partner and neighbors love an espresso martini). I think it also holds more water than the basic model, which is great. Only downside it that I think this one is a bit louder, but otherwise, it's fantastic.

Over 12 months still in perfect shape. Definitely excited my expectations. This was my first espresso machine. Easy set up and gadgets work perfectly. I used to get my coffee from local coffee shops and now I am able to pull very close quality shots with breville impress espresso machine. I make latte - flat white and cappuccino often and Sometimes americano is all I need. My friends always compliment when they come over for a coffee and good to get their feedbacks as well. Still working on my latte art hoping to get better.

Love my new espresso machine, my coffee turns out so much better than Starbucks. It was a little stressful at first to get the hang of it but it all comes down to the beans being used. Freshly harvested beans are the best I don’t need to use a scale or any of that I literally pour the whole bag of beans into the grinder and it dispenses the perfect amount. I live the built in tamper, once you get hang of it it’s so easy to use.

I love espresso & this machine is easy to use & to clean. Beans up top, hit the grind button & press the handle. I’m still learning to steam the milk the way I like it but so far I’m happy with the machine. I bought the extended warranty so if I have to use it hopefully it goes smooth.

Super simple machine that makes a great expresso!!

Learning how to make coffee is so much fun, even if you don't know how to make espresso. I was hesitant to buy this machine because I'm not very skilled with mechanics, but it makes it incredibly easy to brew gourmet coffee. I watched a couple of YouTube videos to get started. Now, I enjoy making fresh coffee every morning for myself, and I love preparing lattes in the afternoon. During the summer, making iced coffee is not only cost-effective but also far superior to what you can get at a coffee shop. Even my husband was surprised by how good it is! Although the machine is a bit pricey, I use it every day and enjoy it thoroughly. So far, this has been the best investment I've made this year.
