Bumblebee is the prequel to the other 5 Transformers movies, and one you need to add to your movie collection. Focused on Bumblebee (designation B-127) and his arrival on Earth, how his voice synthesizer became damaged, and the relationship he forges in the late 1980's with a young girl is the main focus of the film. Add the arrival of the Decepticons and the stage is set for conflict that is less confusing than some of the later Transformers films. Bumblebee is FINALLY the first Transformers movie that plays homage the original cartoon, but keeps us in the more adult feel of the modern movies. This movie is the first Transformer movie that is not directed by Michael Bay and it shows! Bumblebee was directed by Travis Knight, who has made his way from being an animator, producer, and now director, and has only directed four movies so far, but I see him becoming a director to watch!!

Transfer is sharp and sound rocks your system, whether you play the blu ray disc or 4K version. This is a reference quality disc, well worth adding to your collection.

Halie Steinfeld does her best to hold up this movie and John Ortiz's part is too small to make a difference. John Cena try's way to hard and it makes it corny. The story itself is not that great but all in all its watchable if you wanna connect the dots to the whole series. I gave it a 4 for the effort put in by Halie and the CG work.

This energy move is packed with excitement! The digital graphics are awesome and the actors and actresses in this movie deserve an award! I truly loved this movie!!!

Amazing picture and audio quality along with awesome art steelbook

A great film, especially for fans of the original series, as this one actually has a lotta heart, even if it is a lot like the Iron Giant just with Bumblebee…

For those who have been let down by previous Transformers movies, especially in the way Michael Bay has been giving us so little visual distinction between the robot characters, we FINALLY have a movie that gives us the feeling of the original cartoon. That isn't to say that it doesn't fit into the previous outings either. It is an homage to the cartoons, but keeps us in the more adult feel of the modern movies. Set in 1987, those who have lived through it will see a definite eye for detail from individual nick knacks in the background to an excellent 80s soundtrack. It follows Bumblebee, sent to earth to prepare it as the final fall back world for the autobots, but his arrival doesn't go well. Wounded and hiding as the iconic VW beetle, he is found by Charlie, a girl who needs a car and her independence. The two quickly bond. B has lost much of his memory and his voice, but he finds a way to communicate even so. Finding the childlike Bumblebee, Charlie becomes as much his protector as he is hers and the friends eventually discover that enemy Decepticons have come to earth to hunt him and the remaining Autobots down. They have to fight to survive and they both discover how the bonds of friendship and family are more important to their lives than they ever knew.

This 4K UHD Blu Ray is 110% worth adding to your collection. It is incredibly satisfying on every level. From the G1-inspired designs of the Transformers so that they actually resemble their original comic/cartoon aesthetic to the far superior lot filmed action sequences so that you can actually SEE what’s happening, this movie is a complete joy. This 4K set comes with the 4K disc, a regular blu ray disc, and a digital copy. There’s approximately one hour of special features which are all very satisfying, but I could have enjoyed a bit more info on the film, especially a director/actor commentary track. But this movie is a perfect love letter to the 80’s and really makes you invested in the characters more than the spectacle which is exactly what this franchise has been missing. I hope Paramount continues on this track and expands the universe from here. I’m all for a reboot as I am not really a fan of the Michael Bay films.

Growing up in the 80's (and 90's a little too), I was a fan of the Transformers cartoon. I thought the very first movie that came out was cool looking and had a couple of great moments, but honestly it wasn't quite the movie I personally wanted. I've seen all of the movies - and they come across as high tech/super long movie trailers without any real substance. This time around though, Bumblebee comes much closer to the movie I was hoping for - it is far more story and character driven and sticks close to the cartoon I liked as a kid. The acting in this movie is good, the music is awesome, the movie is still entertaining, and the 4K picture looks great (filling up the whole TV screen too) - the whole movie as a package is absolutely worth your entertainment dollar in my opinion. I'm hoping for a sequel (for once). Highly Recommended.

Unlike the other movies of the "Bayverse" (many of which I enjoyed, despite their shortcomings), this was a movie which showed real heart, and humor. The villains don't receive enough depth or characterization, but the relationship between Bumblebee and Charlie is great, and Hailee Steinfeld does an excellent job. It lacks the wonder of some of the other movies in regards to transforming scenes, but this is the first movie in the franchise with a decent story.

It can be hard to do a reboot. This one succeeds.The principal actor, Hailee Steinfeld is great. She grows as she and Bumblebee "heal" each other. There are stretches that are subtle, not action filled. Still, one can count on Michael Bay for his kind of "good stuff". It's not flawless, but it's a nice improvement over recent Transformer movies. I hope Hailee can come back for the sequel [surely one's coming], but [minor spoiler] the ending seems to portend a one-off for her character's role. As usual, watching it via 4K HDR Blu-ray provides the best viewing experience - high quality audio and video, not data-compressed to stream over the internet.

First this movie has transformers back in true form! The cast of actors/actresses is pretty good and this is an action packed movie more solely focused on Bumblebee. Chances are you will like the movie. Now to the steel book. I would advise to save yourself a few bucks and go with the regular edition. For whatever reason, the quality of best buy steel books has gone down the drain. This is not in reference to artwork, but build quality of materials used to make the steel book. Flimsy describes it accurately. There was a bit of solid form and weight to the older steel books, but now that they have gotten popular, naturally they want to charge more for less. The quality is terrible and this will officially be my last steel book with best buy. Aquaman was also cheap with a flimsily built steel book. Buy one of the new recent movies on steel book and you will see. Leaves a lot to be desired.
