The Cafe is the loudest fridge you will ever hear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The GE Cafe fridge looks great, and we like the hot water feature, but It is so loud that when we watch TV we have to turn up the volume to compete with the noise from this fridge. Had a tech come out and look at it, he said GE has come out with a sound kit for this model to lower the noise volume, but after installation it did little to quiet things. I would recommend that everyone stay away from any of the new GE products. They used to be a high quality manufacturer but no longer, We ordered all new GE appliances as a package and the dryer came from the factory needing service, and the microwave door broke after 2 months. I was so close to buying the LG fridge instead. I wish I could get rid of this $3000 piece of trash

The refrigerator has had its compressor replaced twice (keep in mind this equals 4 visits) and the oven mother board went out twice and now the top oven won't cool down (on Xmas Eve), so we are looking at two more visits (total of 6 vidits for this appliances or 10 for both). Oh yeah, and the plastic coating on the microwave handle is peeling off. I never write anything.bad, but I cannot let someone else buy these products on my conscious.

I have replaced 4 motors so far [one of them twice], water solenoid, entire ice maker assembly [leaking], motherboard, and today the little piece of plastic holding the 'water' button on broke. The amount of $$ I have put into this dog to keep it going is unbearable to think about. And this is GE's premier brand. If you're reading this wondering if you should get one - I highly recommend rolling the dice with any other brand.

Repair person refused to take damaged door and GE would do nothing. Best Buy came and hauled it away. Third door is also dented and not installed correctly, and tech damaged the freezer door scraping it with the other new door. He also dropped a wrench and damaged my new hardware floor in several places and dented it with the new door when setting it down! Now he denies everything! Ge will only send parts, they could care less about all the time I have wasted on this. It is also extremely noisy, I can hear it at night upstairs in the bedroom with the door shut! Definitely would not recommend!
