FREEZER leaks and that's not the worst...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am truly disappointed, upset and so frustrated with the GE cafe series appliances. Although beautiful, at under 3yrs old GE Cafe refrigerator's freezer drain leaks all over the floor unless we bi-monthly 'defrost" the coils & thaw the drain. OUR CAFE oven's motherboard died & GE cannot/will not repair it. WE WERE TOLD by GE they would give us $250 credit towards a new purchase. The GE cafe induction cook top works intermittenly and the GE cafe convection/microwave oven's interior door seal is pulling/melting away (see included pic for seal and fridge leaking). :( :( lemons...

Massive, beautiful, feature-filled refrigerator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the biggest refrigerator I've ever seen. It has all the bells and whistles you expect from a bottom-freezer, French-door fridge, including outside water/ice dispenser, color-indicator compartments, and adjustable shelving. It has some creative, interesting new features too, like the hot water dispenser and touchscreen control panel with multiple levels of customization, including uploading your own pictures via USB drive. Delivery was on time, it arrived in good working order with no dents, and I've had no issues with it since it's been installed a week ago. I love this thing.

Wouldn’t Chose It Again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointing, especially for the price. The materials are largely lightweight and plastic. The ice delivery system frequently gets jammed and it’s a hassle to access ice directly. It flies everywhere when dispensing crushed ice.Although it was sold as counter depth, I can’t fully open either doors. That may be the fault of the contractors for not constructing correctly. The side doors do not hold very much and are not tall enough to hold many things. Pay a bit more for a truly quality product.

Terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst appliance purchase ever. Bought in October 2020. Dead in April 2023. Still under warranty. Five service calls finally a replacement- first one week, then July 20 now OCTOBER 16 2023. DO NOT BUY unless you have $4k to throw away

Great Fridge, but I expected a little more
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Cafe fridge is very nice, with lots of extras. However, there are two things preventing me from giving it five stars. First, it's pretty loud, every bit as loud as our old fridge. You can't hear it over the TV, but if you're walking through the fridge, it's very noticeable. Secondly, the freezer drawer just feels cheap. It does not slide out straight, but feels like the drawer hardware is just way insufficient for the weight of the drawer. They also seem to have altered it, so that the ice cream keeper and other compartments are not the same as those we saw in the online reviews. The whole freezer seems cheaply made, definitely not what I expected for a premium price.

OK fridge. Not Premium.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note: GE solicited a review of their fridge from me, but rejected what I wrote because they did not like it. Odd, because I thought it was balanced and simply stated my experience. Copy/Pasting it here now for your purchasing considerations. But I'm downgrading them a star to one, for being petty in my view. I had mixed sentiments leading up to my decision to purchase the Cafe fridge. On one hand it was marketed as a premium appliance and it had decent reviews. On the other hand there were some red flags in the reviews - mostly about noise. And when I discussed the fridge with sales people in the appliance stores, they recommended it, but didn't have any excitement about it like some other brands. Regardless, I liked the look and features, so I pulled the trigger on it. With two months of experience owning it behind me now, i've largely made up my mind that it was an 'ok' purchase, but not one I'd repeat. I miss the french door fridge I replaced. On the plus side: it's a good looking fridge. I like the water dispenser. Particularly how it tells you quantity of water dispensed. And it is not nearly as noisy as the reviews suggest - we don't notice it's fan. But those are the only attributes that I can say I really appreciate. The rest of the fridge's functions are pretty much, well, ordinary. On the down side, I feel like I paid alot for an ordinary fridge. There's something off with the interior space that is hard to put a finger on. In comparison to my former fridge, the interior just holds less stuff even though they're marketed as the same size. The bottom freezer drawer needs to be secured better. It's flimsy and every time I open it, I feel like it's going to break a rail. The biggest negative of the bottom drawer is that it's hard to access all of its space. You have to open the fridge doors all the way to get a clean shot at the storage in the freezer. And the little door shelf is tough to utilize given how the human arm is constructed. You have to contort a little to use it. The freezer definitely holds less than the comparable Samsung - as I had to sacrifice some of the frozen goods I transferred over due to lack of room. The water dispenser was probably the biggest draw for me in purchasing the fridge. I didn't go with the Keurig variant as I personally don't see the need to merge the two devices. However the water dispenser variant had some really cool features: hot water, measure amount dispensed, and can accommodate large containers. The hot water thing is a complete bust. Like more a gimmick than something truly useful. The amount of time and manual intervention necessary to operate the feature is a colossal waste of time. You can boil water on the stove in less than half the time. And the capacity of the fridge boiler is very small. If you wanted to fill a "grande" size Starbucks cup, you're looking at close to ten minutes of annoying labor. Needless to say, good idea, really underwhelming performance. As for the precision dispensing feature... I was super excited about this too. But found it to be underwhelming. You can program it to fill a certain amount... BUT then you have to sit there and hold the activation plate. To be fair to GE, I thought I saw some marketing fluff that showed someone putting a pitcher in the dispenser and then walking away while it filled itself to the preset amount. But I'll be darned if I can figure out how that works. My biggest annoyance with the fridge is the GE quality control and how they handle it. One of the rubber gasket seals around the door came all crumpled and twisted. I noticed it about a week after it was installed. And while I think air doesn't leak out, it does nag at me that the seal should not be so compromised. Anyhow, I reached out to the appliance retailer that delivered the fridge (and installed it) and they immediately disavowed any role in doing something. They punted it to GE. Then I reached out to GE. And they were very responsive. Like almost immediate. But their response was that I should buy an in-home visit from a technician who would then sell me a new gasket seal. And yet, it's only two weeks old at this point and I'm being asked to shell out $200 to get something fixed that should not have arrived compromised. Then I went back to the retailer and told them to come and pick it back up, then they pointed out the return fees. So... stuck with a brand new appliance with some quality issues and all routes seem to involve a couple hundred dollars in unexpected spend. So, the bottom line of my experience is that the Cafe series is an OK fridge. It's definitely overpriced given the features and quality. And GE... well, I think the total experience cemented my resolve to never buy a GE appliance again. Any. Ever. I didn't mention it previously, but I had a negative experience with some Profile appliances in a former house and was disappointed with their eagerness to break. So this was kind of strike two. Unfortunately, given the overwhelming information I've collected in my tenure as a GE appliance owner, a third strike is not necessary for me to know my future options.

Q: QuestionHello, where do I get the ice fro. In the cafe fridge?
Asked by Daelynn.
- A:Answer Hi Daelynn - The refrigerators offers Space Saving Ice. The icemaker is located in the fresh food section, on the left fresh food door. The Space Saving icemaker stores 3.8 pounds of ice that can be dispensed through the ice and water dispenser on the door, or by removing the ice bucket from the door.
