Cafe 36" Cooktop

Purchased to replace a failed GE induction cooktop which lasted less than two years. I waited to write a review until I had sufficient time to evaluate this product. It is far superior to anything I have owned to date including the induction cooktop even when it was working correctly. Easy to install, easy to use, easy keep clean, nice little features like the double eye griddle. Price point was on the lower end of comparable models. Most importantly, it seems to be reliable over the past year with no problems to date. Highly recommend.

36" Cafe' stovetop

Works quietly and efficiently. no moving parts. I would enjoy a setting to adjust the feedback chime but otherwise is is excellent.It holds the desired temperature with no fluctuation. The 'Rapid Boil' setting is great. My family learned to use the sitting features quickly and intuitively.

I’m very happy with this smooth top. I really like the ease of use. I specifically bought a pan that would fit the dual eyes. I didn’t think I would get a lot of use out of that setup but I am.

This is an excellent cooktop that looks sharp. No knobs makes for easy cleaning and a timer is a nice feature. Two burners can be modified to size of pot or skillet. Cooktop came with a griddle- nice extra.

Garbage Quality Cooktop by GE (Cafe Series - Huh!)

Broke 2 times within 1 year so GE took care of the repair as part of the warranty period. Luckily I bought additional 5 year warranty for $200. It broke again yesterday. Literally cooktop glass just cracked with loud sound while it was not in use at all that day. Requesting readers, please DO NOT buy this cooktop. I am stuck. Initially paid $1700 plus $200 for this kind of products made by GE. And the funny thing is this is a Cafe series item. So, what tells me is "PAY MORE SUFFER MORE."

Love this cooktop! So many options for placement of pans. It also came with a grill pan that fits over two burners that can be synced. Great for making pancakes. However, it is difficult to clean the grill pan as it says not to use steel wool.

We are very glad that you are enjoying the expansive cooktop that offers you further cooking possibilities by allowing you to prepare more at the same time and that you have been able to take advantage of the convenient griddle accessory for cooking pancakes. However, we apologize that it has been difficult for you to maintain and would love to offer you some tips in cleaning it. While the griddle surface and cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher or with abrasive cleaners; we recommend that after cooking, you let the griddle cool and pour off excess grease, wash the griddle in warm soapy water, and allow it to soak for a few minutes to soften stubborn soils. If needed, a non-abrasive plastic scouring pad can be used to further remove cooked on soils. Your feedback is very valuable to us and we will be sure to share your comments with our product design team.
