So far I have had this camera for about a month and love it, I previously had a Canon T6 which was great and served it’s purpose but this was a great step up. Though it’s not the biggest deal and more of a nitpick is the scrolling whee on the back of the 77D is a bit too easy to move, on occasion I over click or scroll. The 80D and full frame cameras have a bit tighter wheel that isn’t as easy to over scroll or click. The Camera takes beautiful pictures with them 24.2 megapixel sensor. The lcd screen is sharp and a dream to use. The top LCD comes in handy on occasion though that is taking some getting used to, not because of complexity just not used to having that. If you want a camera that is based off the 80D a bit cheaper and not as heavy this is the bread and butter. Full frames are so expensive And this is a great step up from a basic APS-C camera like the Canon T6.

Canon 77D is a very solid choice for beginner and intermediate. Top LCD screen And the wheel on the thumb are very handy. The camera itself is not heavy at all, it feels nice and tight in your hand. The fact that this camera has built in WiFi, bluetooth, NFC is neat. That means i dont have to connect my camera to my computer and from my computer to my phone. i could just have it sent directly from camera to my phone through the Canon app. On the other hand, if money is kind of tight, And you dont need a top screen or AF on button, T7i is a solid option. T7i will perform just like the 77D.

I purchase the Cannon EOS 77D prior to going on a road trip through several western states. Previously, I had only used point and shoot or cell phone to take pictures. The 77D can function on automatic and give spectacular results as well as manual for more advanced users. I put in the battery and a memory card and I was ready to take pictures. Download the Cannon CameraConnect app, it will allow for remote shooting as well as viewing pictures on separate device as you take pictures., I look forward to learning more about photography and the advanced functions of the camera.

I spent a lot of time looking at different cameras, and in the end was very happy with my choice of the EOS 77D. Having used a Canon for the last 10 years, the controls and layout were very familiar. The weight and balance of the camera are comfortable. I have been extremely pleased with the advanced controls and picture quality, especially low-light performance. On my past camera, I found that I had too often changes modes without realizing it. Moving the function dial to the left and adding a lock button have been very helpful.

    Great Camera to grow into

This is an amazing camera for semi-beginner photographers who want the ability to grow into more advanced features. This camera is almost identical to the Canon Rebel T7i, but where the two cameras differ is in their capability for manual function - which, if you plan to transition into intermediate or professional photography, is essential to become comfortable with. The Canon 77D is incredibly easy to learn how to use, especially if you choose to enable the guided mode (the user-friendly interface that comes preset on the Canon rebel series). Another great feature is the WiFi-enabled Canon connect app, which allows you to transfer your photos directly from your camera to your phone. The 18-55 mm lens is a great lens for close-range portrait shots, but if you plan to take any photos outside, then you need to purchase a polarized lens to attach to the end of your lens - this will ensure that your colors are crisp and clear. Overall, the Canon 77D was a great purchase, and I have no complaints.

According to Canon, the 77D represents a new category of advanced amateur EOS cameras, supposedly a step above the Rebel series. However, the design of the 77D is very much like previous Rebels and therefore owners of preceding Rebels will find the camera feeling pretty familiar. Compared to some of the previous Rebels, the 77D has even more pre-set shooting modes and filters, which Canon grouped under SCN, respectively Creative Filter mode. The camera also features slow continuous shooting. Related to this, one might note that with the 77D the frame rate of Canon entry-level DSLRs has increased to 6 fps - which should be adequate for most amateur photographers. In any case, but especially when shooting RAW, a fast memory card which can handle a lot of data is advisable. The main new features of the 77D worth noting are the 45-point all cross-type AF system and the DIGIC 7 image processor. The improved and now very responsive display with swipe functionality makes looking through the pictures a lot faster and easier. Amateur photographers looking for a compact, lightweight DSLR camera with an extensive feature set and great image quality for a reasonable price, will enjoy the Canon EOS Rebel 77D. (Beginners who do not care about the top LCD panel and the rear quick-control thumb dial, might as well save $100 and buy the basically identical T7i instead.)

The 77D is a nice Canon camera although seems a little pricey for it's capabilities. Some of the good things it has going for it are its nice size that not to bulky. It does have digital stabilization that can only be used for video. Having IBIS in the 77D would have made this a great camera over software based stabilization. Also the lack of a 100% viewfinder is a bummer as well as no 1/3 stops of ISO. The camera takes great pictures though and handles well in low light for pictures. It does fall short for low light video recording though. It's dual pixel auto focus is fast and accurate. Of course everyone is scratching their head why Canon still is not bringing 4K recording capabilities to their consumer priced cameras so if your looking for 4K, you won't find it here. Of course the fully articulating touch screen is great on the camera and the battery life is pretty good.

I am just starting in photography and this is my first "real" camera. I've watched a lot of videos on photography and this specific camera and at this point I am still working to figure out everything. However, what I can say at this point, is so far I love this camera! One of the things I really like are all the options for manual adjustments. There are specific options for everything you might need to change while taking a picture in specific scenarios. The other nice thing is it also has all the automatic options as well, meaning the camera will adjust the settings to whatever it thinks are correct for your situation. This gives the opportunity to see what automatic settings the camera would use and then switch to manual and play around. As I said earlier, this is still new to me and there is a lot still left to learn. I bought this camera for a trip my family and I are taking in a few months. I thought this would give me time to figure out the camera before that. The quality is amazing with the new sensors and high MP count. With the top dials and the scroll wheel it is easy to change settings on the fly. I only have two lenses, the one that came with the kit and another additional lense that I have yet to use. But, with the kit lense, this camera is awesome!

I came to the 77D from the Canon T4i and I couldn't be happier. This model added everything I wished my beloved T4i had: more megapixels, wifi, top LCD panel, and more focus points. I've been very happy with this camera's performance. I actually do some portrait photography on the side and my clients have been happier than ever with the results. The T4i was a great camera to learn on and this was a great upgrade. The 80D looks like a great equivalent as well, but professional reviewers will point out that the newer Digic processor in the 77D give it the edge.

If your budget is no more than $1000 this the one to get. Similar to the tebel T7i but with a touch of better D series canons. Video quality and image is amazing even low light high iso pictures are excelent. Best thing for videos is the dual pixel auto focus, others can't compete with this feature.
