I got this printer due to canons rebate. It is a very nice professional grade printer. I print with the Epson to check colors then print large format with this to get stunning pics. Use light room off your phone or iPad this will not disappointing and the inks arent too expensive but know it will use lots of ink and you must print something weekly at least a test print color wheel or favorite photos so the heads do not dry. This printer prints out all our large student flying photos at US Paragliding

I bought this printer because I am a visual artist and I wanted to print out my own artwork. Also, I am upgrading from the canon pitman pro 100, which I really didn't like at all. I really enjoy my new pixma pro 200. This is way better than the previous version.

Absolute awful waste of money- color bleeds- waste more money in ink and paper than actually printing a decent photo. Complete disappointment and completely dissatisfied

Solid printer that produces great prints

I actually bought this printer with the intent of using it to produce digital art prints as opposed to printing photographs and was not disappointed with my choice. While this printer doesn't produce images that are *quite* on par with professional level photography prints, it still manages to output at a decent speed with very nice, vivid color that looks great on a variety of paper types. And while the size and weight of the printer does make it a bit burden to place and use if you don't have a lot of room, the wifi connection option helps alleviate the issue somewhat so you don't have to worry about a USB connection. Set-up involving the print head and ink tanks was also fairly easy.
This printer is an especially good deal if you can get it on sale and/or pair it with a Canon rebate offer (check their website!) as I did.

I needed to replace my Epson R1800. Very pleased with it but due to the pigment inks, ended using up a lot of ink due to nozzle clogging. I was nervous about getting a new printer because I know what I am looking for in quality. Over the holidays I had to go to CVS to make prints. Terrible quality in both paper and prints. I made up my mind and decided to get a new printer. Read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research and luckily with the large rebate that Canon was offering, I went with the Pixma Pro-100. My printing needs are primarily as an enthusiast but I really enjoy being to get a print in my hand after a minute or so in LR or PS. Don't want to have to wait for delivery in the mail. I have only had the printer going for about 5 days or so and the few times I have printed with it, LOVE IT.... Even letting the 'Printer' manage the printing, colors are right on. Really look forward to doing some B&W prints on metallic paper............. Highly recommended.........

Just brought my first picture printed to be custom framed and framer could not believe the quality of the print. From big to small prints, very professional looking prints. If you are looking for a professional printer at home, it's very easy to set up, even wireless and the profiles available support many types of paper. Just make sure you have enough space for it.

The unit is huge and weighs over 40lbs. For me it was a way to print off my best pictures and have them look the way I wanted or even better. This printer has done that for me but not without a few trial and error runs. You will want to make sure your monitor has been calibrated so that what you see on your computer screen comes off on the photo paper . That's another thing - getting the right paper for the picture you want to print . You will have to experiment . I like the Canon Luster paper. This is for serious picture printing . This is the next step up . For me it works great.

GREAT photo printer for pro-sumer

This is NOT a pro level printer, despite the model "PRO-100". Don't get me wrong, it is REALLY good. But I would put it somewhere between professional and consumer (thus the name "pro-sumer").
I love being able to print out A3+ photos from landscape to portrait. I could sell my prints for sure, but if I was selling as a professional, there are other models out there with more cartridges (10-12 cart vs 8 on the PRO-100) and quality (like the PRO-10 and the PRO-1000) IMHO. But at this price point, it is a great photo printer to get you into that line.
This printer is HEAVY, but the box is well made and instructions are super easy. You will be printing 13x19 prints in minutes (depending on how fast your internet connection is ;-). It prints fast and does a great job printing edge to edge.
I don't know yet, how long the cartridges will last, but I have printed out 8 edge to edge 13" by 19" photo prints plus several 8x10 and 5x7's and the ink levels on 3 are in the ~60's% and all the others at ~80-95%). The printer design is simple, yet elegant (I think). Truth be told this is my first Canon (long time HP printer owner). I've never had a printer of this caliber before so take my review at that.
Although the printer seems to have good power management and sleep modes. I keep this printer unplugged until I go to use it. I ONLY use it to do photo printing (mostly 13x19, but some 8x10 and 5x7).

rather large and heavy. once you get past that, this product is outstanding both in quality of pictures printed and ease of use. I am a very happy customer. Best Buy was a great place to go to buy this printer. They were very helpful, friendly and professional! Excellent experience all around.

This is a great printer for printing professional quality photo prints at home. Given the quality of the prints, it is very fast too. It is huge, so make sure you have a place to put it - but it is wireless, so doesn't have to be next to your computer (except during initial set up). It is worth it though, because the quality of prints is better than local drugstore prints, and rivals pro photo labs. I just recommend you calibrate your monitor to get accurate colors, or else you may be disappointed.

Although it took me a minute to figure out how to actually print from my pc when I did it worked amazing. And the pictures are perfect. The printer is HUGE so make sure you have lots of space for it. It's not loud and the table I have it sitting on doesn't shake like crazy when printing. I love this printer.

I've been wanting this printer for ages and finally got it. I've known this printer prints great images for years so the quality of prints is excellent. The reason why I held off for so long is because of the size of this beast as well as the shipping. Now I'm in a new place and Best Buy offers free shipping so I had to get it.
I've made photo prints from the Canon Pixma Pro 100 that has been in exhibitions so if you're worried about quality, you don't have to.
So if you have the space/big sturdy table and value quality prints from a reasonably price printer, you really need to consider the Canon Pixma Pro 100.

I do photography and this came highly recommended! I love the picture quality and ease of printing! It is quite the machine and a little large but make sure it is on a good stable surface! Other than that it is perfect!
