||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've learned and excepted a long time ago that, as a comic-book fan, movie adaptations of comic characters don't really stay true to the source material. But that doesn't mean a comic-book movie can't be good. Unfortunately this wasn't one of the good ones. Do yourself a favor and look up the film term "Mary-Sue." You'll see why it is a horrible style of character that completely lacks any in-depth character development. And ruins what could be a well crafted plot and great story. This "Captain Marvel" is the definition of that horrible character style. If you're looking for a good film starring a female lead, get Wonder Woman or Alita: Battle Angel. But if you like rolling your eyes in disappointment at an OP character that seems driven more by politics than entertaining people, look no further than "Captain Marvel."

Not the best Marvel Movie

Acting is top notch with stars such as Sam Jackson, Annette Bening, and Brie Larson. It' a double edge sword of being in the Marvel Universe: This movie is good enough to watch because it fits into canon, yet it suffers by comparison.
