Hands down the most impressive nose and ear trimmer I have ever had. I have gone through many over the years, all have been lost by being cheap flimsy things. The ConairMAN Metalcraft nose and ear trimmer is nothing of the sort. This trimmer is stout, built strong, and has the perfect heft to it. The trimmer feels amazing in the hands, it's not heavy, but not exactly light either, it just feels perfect. The cutting tip on it is something new to me, I have not had a trimmer like this one before. I love it. The cutting tip cuts the hairs so clean to where the inside of my nostrils had a cleaner shave then my face has ever had. I was so impressed with how this trimmer cut my nose hairs; I had my wife give it a try as well. My wife was skeptical at first as she has never used a nose/hair trimmer before, but I could not get it away from her, she was going to town. We both felt as if we could almost breathe better after the trimming.
What did I like best about the ConairMAN Metalcraft trimmer? I like that the look and feel of this product. The trimmer not only looks like a professional grooming tool but also feels like it. I like that the body is real metal that gives it that perfect weight and feel in the hands. I like the ease of use of the trimmer, for instance, how easy it is to change the battery, turn the trimmer on/off, and how easy it is to take the tip-off and simply run it under the sink to clean it. I like that it only needs one AA battery, but feels like there’s ample power for months of use, maybe even more. I love the cutting tip design and how it is flared out at the top. I tried to cut myself with it, and I could not. So any quick trim will be perfectly safe. The size of the trimmer is great, I can throw it in my toiletry bag, and it's small and slim enough for travel. Again, the looks of it are great too, if I am not traveling it looks good on the counter next to my sink. I am incredibly pleased I picked up this product and certainly recommend this product.
What did I not like about this product? There isn’t much not to like here. If I had to get really picky, I would say if you went to turn on the trimmer by twisting the bottom, but a twist in the wrong direction, the batter may fall out. I never had this problem, but my wife did it one time. The twist is to the right to turn on, centered to shut off, and left to release the bottom where the battery is stored. Another nitpicky thing would be how loud it is. Now, it is not very loud, but if you put any type of trimmer in your ear it will become loud. When I first took the product out of its package and used it in my ear, I thought it was a little on the loud side, however, after testing the product and putting it through the wringer, I feel like I have either gotten used to it or the trimmer wore in a little bit and I do not think it is as loud as it was once, I first turned the trimmer on.
All in all, I am incredibly happy with this product and I certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-built nose/ear trimmer. This trimmer has piqued my interest and I will be looking into the other products in the ConairMAN Metalcraft lineup.

A Painless Experience!

I have to say that being a first-time user of such a product, the Conair Metal Series High Performance Nose/Ear Trimmer has left a very positive impression on me. Dare I say….life changing?!
The build quality is excellent. It feels very heavy and sturdy in your hands with its metal body. The only non-metal parts of the unit are the blade housing, the blade cap and the battery cap/switch. To turn it on, just twist the aforementioned battery cap/switch in the clockwise direction and opposite to turn off. To swap out the battery, twist the battery cap/switch further counterclockwise and it will dislodge itself from the metal body, releasing the battery. Pretty simple.
As far as performance, the real question is if I felt any discomfort during use? Being a first time user, all I can say is that it was definitely a weird feeling, but no, I wasn’t nicked, pulled at or cut. Scared, yes. I mean, who wouldn’t be scared sticking a Roto-Rooter up your nose? But this beats manual pulling or scissoring your way out of a tickly or embarrassing situation by a mile, and I will use this regularly moving forward. I took it easy at first, by the way.
From a maintenance perspective, the only two things you’ll have to do occasionally is (1) rinse out of the detachable blade and (2) swap out the single AA battery when the juice gets low. Like all things with blades, they will become dull overtime and need to be replaced. I don’t know about other ear/nose trimmers on the market, but replacing the blade is a nice feature to have. And having the backing of a company that specializes in hair care is always a plus. The trimmer doesn’t come with a carrying case but it’s definitely small enough to bring with you during your safe travels.

Solid Nose & Ear Trimmer

This trimmer did a good job of trimming my nose and ears. It cut well, with plenty of power, and no pulling.
Pros
- Easy to disassemble and clean. Cutting head can be removed and rinsed out if needed.
- Takes one standard AA battery, which is easy to find and way more convenient than a charger
- Includes a cap to protect the cutting head when not in use
- Good weight, not hard to hold or maneuver
- Cutting head size was perfect to fit in my nose and ears
Things to Consider
- The head did get warm after using it for a few minutes
- Battery is not included
- On/Off switch is stiff and also functions as the battery compartment release - if you turn it the wrong way or too far the battery pops out (it has already happen to me a few times)

The ConairMan MetalCraft series nose and ear hair trimmer is a handy little device to maintain those unsightly orifice hairs. It’s about the size of a market or highlighter, so it easily fits in your pocket, bag, glove box, desk, or anywhere you might need to keep it handy. It runs off of a single AA battery and using it is pretty straight forward. The battery inserts from the bottom and the battery cap also functions as the on/off switch. Remove the top cap and you expose the trimmer section that’s metal and flares out at the tip. So far it lives up to it’s claim that it doesn’t pull, nick or cut, but man does it tickle. This is my first nose/ear hair trimmer and I don’t know if this is common, but using it tickled my nostrils in the weirdest way. It was a weird sensation, but at least it didn’t hurt. Supposedly, you just need to run the head under water and wipe it dry to clean, but it’s also easily removable for more thorough cleaning and servicing. Overall, it’s a nice little nose and ear hair trimmer that works quickly and painlessly. Definitely recommended!

The Chainsaw of Nose Hair Trimmers

Finally! My whole life I have been hunting for a quality nose hair trimmer that doesn't brake down after a years use. This Conair nose hair trimmer is very well built and the motor and blades run flawlessly. Typically (other brands) the blades are already grinding and the trimmer body is usually flimsy. Not this guy its larger than typical where you grab it and in my opinion making it better to handle. Also the blade system is very intuitive. You don't see any blades as they are behind slots that go all around. It makes it so cleaning is very easy and clogs are less typical. I was able to cut my nose hairs easily, quickly and without harm. It actually got more hairs then my old trimmer did that I just used last week (meaning it didn't have to keep it up my nose forever trying to get every hair). I am Italian so you know I mean business when it comes to nose hair trimmers. I do not have a need to trim ear hair but I am sure it will work great. You read my title right... the chainsaw of nose hair trimmers! This device is the best in the business!

I have owned a few of these before and most have all worked the same...until now. The design of this particular brand and model are the best ever. It has a unique head that works better than any nose hair trimmer ever. It does not pull, cut or nick like other have in the past. I bought two of these since I normally break one eventually. This model has held up so well that the second one is really a waste and is still in the box in my cabinet. You cannot beat the price. I admit that these have become throw aways over the years but this one is holding up amazing now! I highly recommend it and love the quality and thought and engineering that went into the design. It really paid off. The only downside is that what works amazing in the nose for trimming with the design makes this not the best for ear hair. The shape does not get all of the hair like the standard designed models but I don't care much. I still love this design!

smoothest nose trimmer ever, but one trick pony

This is a great nose hair trimmer...no doubt. it is made in a way that I have never seen before and that allow you to very comfortably trim very closely near the delicate skin in your nose to get all the hair. it is a nice size and weight, and runs well on one AA battery. I guess that my only problem with it is that it is a one trick pony in that it has no other attachments and so it would not get used very often when I can use something that has the other tools that i need for a total trim of all my needs. It looks like it has a twist off head, so where are the other attachments?

Painless Daily Groomer

If you are a man like me, you have a very fast growing and embarrassing challenge with unwanted ear and nose hairs. Even plucking and waxing , which are unpleasant to do in the first place, are short lived remedies. That is why I love this ConairMan MetalCraft High-Performance Ear & Nose Trimmer. It quickly and efficiently removes unwanted hairs without pain because it has a 360 degree rotary cutting system with 3-beveled blades that do not snatch hairs nor pull. You can actually hear the clipping so you know how well it is working. I also used it on my ears and you could hear it removing the finer hairs that are not so easily visible to the eye. It is made of solid and durable metal housing, not plastic, so it is designed to hold up well for a long time. And you do not have to be precise, this trimmer takes all of the guesswork out for you. Just run it randomly around each nostril and ear, and it does all the work for you. The compact durable design with the included blade cover means I can keep it nearby on my desk or vanity for a quick daily touch-up before going out without the necessary torture. I received this product as part of a free sample program but opinions are 100% my own.

It’s Just Ok

For anyone who has ever used nose and ear trimmers, you’ll understand the importance of having a blade that cleanly cuts the hair without pulling. Especially the nasal hair. These are very sensitive areas when it comes to hair removal.
So how does this Conair trimmer perform? Well, meh! On the ear hair it actually did a great job. I didn’t feel any pulling and the blade seemed to cut cleanly. Although it is a bit loud in the ear canal, but that’s not too uncommon. It does get deep into the ear and has a great design for doing just that.
The size of the trimmer is ideal for maneuvering into different positions.
Where this trimmer fell short was when it came to nasal hair trimming. OUCH! I More of a yanking than a cutting. It almost seemed like the device was underpowered. I installed a fresh, high-end battery and achieved the same result. I’m not a fan.
I do like the portability and the device feels solid. However, I just can’t get beyond the painful nasal trimming. I’d have a hard time recommending this to anyone.

The search for the perfect nose/ear trimmer should not be a lifetime endeavor, but sadly it has become one. I have a draw full of many of the major brands, all falling short in one area or another. Seems like such a simple device, but apparently it's not. Either they break, they don't cut well, pull hairs or they are simply way to loud to be placed by your ear. So when I saw the Conair Metalcraft High Performance nose/ear trimmer I thought I finally had found what I was looking for. I like Conair products. I have an electric hair trimmer set that is about 10 years old and works as well today as the day I bought it. Out of the box it looks attractive, basically cylindrical with one flat side which makes it easy to grip. It's body is silver with gold cap and trim. It uses 1 AA battery. The trimmer heads twists off and you can rinse it under the faucet. The cutting head is unique, rotary and cylindrical with bevel blade. It is the perfect shape for the nose and does an excellent and efficient job cutting nose hairs with no pulling at all. So why the disappointment?
1) The first time I tried to take off the cutting head to clean it, all of the internal parts came out and came apart. (See picture). It actually took a while to put back together because the 2 main components have to be lined up perfectly.
2) It is too loud for the ears.
3) Even though the cutting edge is perfectly shaped for the nose, it is not the case for the ears. Now it's not bad, but I found it more difficult to effectively cut the ear hair. This resulted in more time spent by the ears, which in turn made the noise more bothersome. If it were quieter, I would not mind spending an extra minute or two on the ear trimming.
In summary, this is the best nose trimmer I have used. Fast, painless and very effective. However, it is not a great ear trimmer for the reasons stated above. And, the fact that the unit fell apart on the first use does not bode well for the long term.

The Conair Metal Series Nose/Ear trimmer is better than the rest. It doesn't seem to pull my nose hairs and really gets the job done. It also seems easier to clean when I am done. For whatever reason, with other trimmers, I would have pulled hairs and the inside of my nose would end up sore. I'm really happy with this trimmer. It feels much more compact and sturdy as well.

Solid Construction, Very Effective Performance!

The Conair MetalCraft High Performance Metal Ear/Nose Trimmer is very well-made. It will consistently deliver safe and effective trimming of those annoying hairs in your nose and ears at a price which makes it one of the best values on the market.
Conair is an American firm based in Stamford, Connecticut which was founded in 1959. It is one of the largest producers of personal care products (Conair hair dryers, curlers, grooming tools, mirrors, Interplak oral care, Allegro bags) and kitchen appliances (Cuisinart and Waring products). Total sales exceed $2 billion. MetalCraft is a premier brand within the ConairMan grooming products group.
Here are the relevant features and specifications:
• Conair MetalCraft High-Performance Metal Ear/Nose Trimmer (Model NE5000)
• 360 degree rotary cutting system
• Diamond-shaped three-bevel blade thoroughly removes hairs
• No nicks, pulls or cuts during operation
• Washable head
• Durable, compact design with blade cover and smooth metal body
• Powered by one AA battery (not included)
• Very compact: 0.8” wide and 5.3” tall; Weight: 3 ounces
• Two year parts and labor warranty
When you open the box and unpack the unit you will be impressed by the solid feel and quality of construction. You have to install a AA battery (none is included). This is done by twisting the bottom cap one-eighth of a turn to the left and inserting the battery with the positive end down. The unit is turned on by twisting that same end cap one-eighth turn to the right.
This trimmer has a unique T-shaped cutting head which facilitates close trimming of hairs. Most nose hair trimmers have a long, cone-shaped cutting head. See my photo of another brand compared to the Conair MetalCraft trimmer. The cutting section has a diamond-shaped three bevel blade and the shape allows you to get close to the skin around the hairs you want to trim, rather than simply shortening them.
The solid metal body has a convenient thumb grip to aid in control. You will quickly complete the trimming process and marvel at how thoroughly it has done the job.
After trimming, you can clean the head by removing it (a one-eighth turn to the right) and rinsing it under running water. The main body of the trimmer (which includes the battery) cannot be exposed to water. This is the only maintenance required (other than changing the battery.) Since you are probably going to use this trimmer for just a minute or two once a week, the battery should last at least a year.
The bottom line on this sturdy, top quality little trimmer is that it is an excellent and efficient grooming tool. If you are tired of cheap, plastic-bodied trimmers that stop working after a few weeks I strongly urge you to add this wonderful device to your array of personal care equipment. Highly recommended!

This is a useful tool. I was unsure how to use it on both my nose and ears. That seemed unhygienic. However, according to the instructions, they are washable. So if you were wondering about that, that's how. The tip is not removable. It requires one AA battery. To turn it on, you just twist the bottom of the unit and it turns on. They work well and you will hear a distinct cutting noise when it engages the hairs. The noise level in the ears is loud, but most of them are and it's not unbearable. If I was to use it on both places, I would get some rubbing alcohol on a tissue and wipe off the exterior just for added sanitization.

I recently got the Conair Man ear and nose hair trimmer as pair of a free sample. I was a little nervous in trying it. However, using scissors to trim nose hairs is even more nerve wrecking. After popping in a AA battery and trying it out, I am quite pleased with the ease of use and performance in the removal of the unsightly hairs.
Although the unit is extremely portable, I wish it was rechargeable vs needing to use a AA. However, it is not a deal breaker!

Have a Phillips trimmer as well however this Conair trimmer is the one I would pick and be willing to pay more for every time. It has a sturdier and more durable cutting apperatice. This Conair Trimmer has preformed better and outlasted any other trimmers I've had. Only issue I've experienced is sometimes you need to turn it on and off to get it to start but I've experienced that with others and far more frequently so still consider this a 5 star rating.

Nothing really complicated with the Conair - Metal Series High Performance Nose/Ear Trimmer in terms of what it does... but what it does do is straightforward & effective.
Build quality is exemplary and definitely feels like a quality product in-the-hand. This trimmer is miles ahead of what I am accustomed to and simply put, is much more precise than other trimmers with those more customary conical shaped trimmer heads.
The Conair - Metal Series High Performance Nose/Ear Trimmer has more of disc shaped tip that enables it to get closer and be controller with confidence. Because of this I was able to achieve a much closer trim, with no irritation.
Beyond that, there isn't much to say. It works as intended and with the metal build, presents itself as a premium personal hygiene product.
Definitely recommended over any of the all-plastic, conically tipped competitors out there.
