Easy to install, and looks great in the living room;however, the sound could be more powerful...

After reading many reviews I purchased this sound bar. First of all, the installation instructions are absolutely terrible! I had to call the customer service number 4 or five times because the instructions are so skimpy and in some places actually incorrect. However, now I am quite pleased with it. It has made movies come alive and the dialogue is so much easier to hear. One of my degrees is in music, and I think it does a great job for it's size in that area as well.

I got it on sale for $399. I’m not sure if I would pay the msrp of $1,300 because it doesn’t have the initial wow factor as the Bose soundbar we tested at the store. It does sound great, with movies having a good amount of texture and good bass. Definitely use hdmi connection if you can because it sounds noticeably better than optical when watching movies. The WiFi streaming app takes a while to set up but music sounds very good.

Though I had room for separate components, I thought a sound bar would be more ergonomic in my space and aesthetically pleasing. The closest store in which I could listen to a w/Studio was 100 miles away, so after listening to some cheaper models in my local store, and after reading many online reviews of professionals and consumers, I decided to invest in one considered to be one of the top models. To be fair, it sounded darn good; the strength being the adjustable center channel volume. For this price point, however, I expected a bit more punch. The real weakness of this and probably any sound bar, is the lack of expansive soundstage you get with separate components. My old Home Theater in a box for a lot less money sounded better to me, albeit with a bit more distortion. I returned it and am investing in new components.

Overall I'm very happy with the sound, looks and quality of the product although the software is not nearly as refined as the Sonos software and app. The sound for both music and TV/Movies is excellent. I'm using an optical cable for the connection to my Samsung Smart TV because I could not get sound using an HDMI cable. I would like to see them add Google Play as one of the streaming services.

I wanted a B&O system, but the price tag was too much for me. Def Tech's systems are not crazily expensive, yet still are able to produce great sounds. Very satisfied!

The system is fairly easy to install and works off Wi-Fi vs Bluetooth. Recommend optical cable for installation.

I purchased this product as it has great reviews over the past few years and although a bit dated, I delivers very nice sound. DT will be replacing this sometime in the near future but for the price point, it cannot be beat. I am overall very pleased thus far. I will state that the user instructions are non existent and their customer support could be better.

Great sound and the sub woofer is a big plus for the system expecially when it kicks in. It was very easy and compatible with the sony 3d blue ray play. It is a must have if u have a big screen tv and enjoy watching movies.

It does not have an easy way to adjust the sound. The choice is eithe movie or music. Changing the base is easy, but that is it using Harmony Elite remote control.

We replaced a really old 5 speaker surround sound system. This sounds pretty good in our large room. It's not a perfect surround sound, but we weren't ready to splurge on the higher end wifi speaker series quite yet (like Sonos). Good alternative and we got enough Play-Fi speakers for the whole house for less than we would have paid for just the sound bar and bass speaker with Sonos.

Great sound, But the software that is required to use PayFi is worthless, you have to use WiFi, not Bluetooth capable, unable to use alexa or any third party equipment price is very high for this, have considered taking it back but since primary use is sound bar for TV it sounds great.

Great sound like its a real theater minus a lot of wires. only problem I have is not being able to use the play fi app I am not able to program the settings to use the wifi connections for music and sound - and they need to put instructions how to's otherwise the system is worth the money I highly recommend . got it at a great price and love it ! feel like I have a real studio with dynamic sounds and a real live theater affordable better than Sonos and Bose any day
