Picture quality was also good but suffers from very bad color banding. The dark scenes are specially bad and are not watchable. Good for gaming but cannot be used for watching videos.

* Use the OSD (On Screen Display)- Others and reset the S2716DG to Factory Defaults (page 34)
* Then, post pictures of your S2716DG running its "stand alone" BID (Built-in Diagnostics) which is detailed on page 40. Based on those BID pictures, I will tell if the S2716DG passes or fails our manufacturer expectation for overall uniformity.

I was using an Xbox one x so it maybe a different experience using a PC to game on. There are much better options at a cheaper price if using an Xbox one x.

It was an IpS panel at 8ms and 60hertz refresh. One thing I will say is that if you’re going from IPS to TN panel, expect a quality difference. Blacks aren’t as good and highly noticeable. Everything seemed washed out and kinda amber tinted. Even with the 165 hertz, I couldn’t ignore the color quality drop so I returned these. Quality was too important to drop for the expensive price you pay. Recommend looking at YouTube or other social media for reviews on what’s out there.

The 1440p/144hz/G-Sync does nothing to resolve how distracting the color banding is. I've never seen banding this bad, even with monitors 1/8th of the price of this. Very disappointed in this monitor and am very baffled at the good reviews considering that this appears to be a huge issue with these panels after doing some research online. Will have to return this in the morning.

This problem is found on every version of this monitor. If it doesn’t bother you than go ahead, but if you plan to do anything besides play competitive games do not buy this model.

Garbage Setup

Had to unplug everything and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Once I did that it worked; or so I thought. After restarting my computer I had to go through that process again. And I can’t even use a second monitor with it. Colors are washed out anyway. I was giving Dell another shot with this as they have terrible screen firmware on their computers. I should have known better. Spend your money on something else.

Open box buy
