Pros: Affordable Decent GPU Cons: Bulky & Ugly Sometimes run a little hot

I was planning on waiting for the new Renoir chips to build myself a desktop, but my 7 year old laptop's motherboard had other plans in mind. It doesn't matter, though, because this fits almost all my needs as a workstation and occasional gaming laptop. I had a $1000 budget in mind and bought a Geek Squad Certified Excellent open-box model while on sale for well below that budget. I've yet to run thorough tests, having no high-end spec games on hand, but Street Fighter V and Batman: Arkham City had no issues and only got up to around 71C, though they hardly tax the GPU at default settings. Even my UserBenchmark scores exceeded expectations with a 91% gaming score. I'm not sure how well they show off the 144hz monitor, but I'm impressed nonetheless as a former core, not mostly casual gamer. There are a few mild annoyances. You'll likely want to invest in some more RAM in the near future, as the 8GB kit likely won't be enough in the long run. Also, the speakers are weaker than my old Asus N76VZ, but that's really my only basis of comparison. Overall, this is a whole lot of computer for a pittance of a price.

This laptop has done a nice job for my son. We however, upgraded to a desktop gaming rig because he was having lag issues playing Madden on this machine. I really don't know what happened, as it used to run fine. The internet bandwidth is 200MBPS. The graphics card is great for younger kids with lighter graphics needs (like Minecraft and Fortnite).

I Bought an open -box item, which I searched on the website. Went and picked it up the same day. A young employee was very helpful it finding the product in the Melbourne store. Thanks for the great work. The item was in perfect condition and was a great offer for great specs. Fans are loud when gaming, but the newest bios 1.9, has helped.

I was in need of an upgrade from my 2015 12" macbook, and this laptop has surpassed my expectations for what a sub $1000 computer can do. Pros: - Fast 144Hz screen - Excellent Ryzen processor - Equally impressive "Mobile" GPU - Powershift between CPU and GPU works perfectly - Spacious keyboard with good key travel and stability - User upgradable Ram and NVMe ssd (x2) - Fans do not spin under 75C - Excellent port selection Cons: - Over 75C and not even ANC headphones can drown it out 100% - Only one of the two NVMe M.2 slots supports full size drives - If you add a second M.2 drive, there is no way to cool the drive - Build quality worse than most sub $500 laptops - Keyboard is RGB backlit, but with only four zones (not per key) - While fast, the included Ram has terribly slow timings - The CPU will idle at desktop at a toasty 55C - 70C Overall, this computer does have tradeoffs compared to others in this price category. However, performance is king and this is a rocket ship in a cardboard frame, if you get my meaning...

Great laptop for the price. The ryzen 4800h is superb. Combined with the 5600m gpu makes this all amd laptop perform at optimal level. Getting up to 112 fps on COD WZ. Just amazing and incredible for workstation. This is a great buy for what I needed it for. Also bought it on sale so it came in at under $750. This laptop is a steal at that price.

Awesome for what I paid, only thing I would say could be better is a bigger screen and 4k, but hey, that is not what I paid for so I'm basically whining for the sake of it. It is right around Christmas now so if you are looking for a gaming rig and do not know what to choose or don't want to shell out the big bucks, this is exactly what you should get, HANDS DOWN!

This can run all my games maxed out no issue. Very fast and excellent for the price. The thermal cooling is great temps are good, so it's always silent unless you're under load such as gaming then the fans ramp up. RGB keyboard is nice and the sound quality is amazing with the Alienware 7.1 surround sound and bass boost. Extremely pleased with this and highly recommend.

Great buy for my daughters home schooling laptop. Picked it up on sale, which was awesome. She primarily uses it for school but enjoys playing triple A titles on it when not doing her school work. The fan is a little bit loud when it kicks on but most gaming laptop’s have a loud fan in my personal opinion.

Bought this computer to replace the older Dell that conked out within a year. So far, so good. Laptop works well, processes quickly. Only downside is that the keyboard isn't as durable as I'd like. My teenage son seems to have broken the delete and backspace key (might be more him than the computer itself....)

If you read the reviews and know what to expect - what small details you are "giving and taking" on, it is an excellent find if you're getting a deal on it. I would wanted to have paid MSRP, as I'm all about "bang for the buck." I was able to pick this up open box for just under 700 before tax, and am extremely happy with it. Not a gamer - but a power hungry program and multitasking user.

Laptop seems to work well but Alienware is problematic. A lot if the features are run through this software and it has glitched several times. This happen at PC setup and later. Dell tech support remoted in and has it up and running now. the tech was fantastic. The only problem is I don't know if this will holdup with Windows updates coming in. Am I satisfied yes but I am concerned.

This is a backup purchase because of a problematic G3 we've had for less than a year. I'm sure this laptop can do amazing things but we just need it to turn on and function so that online school is not affected. It's a low bar but one we took for granted after all our years with Apple products. Fingers are crossed...

Some will say "It's cheap quality laptop" it is some what cheap, but its a good design laptop, easy to upgrade and most favorable part is that it includes 2 M.2 NVME slots for more fast storage! I got the laptop for open-box for $600.
