I believe a computer out the box should be free protected from anything without applying subscription for anti virus. I was confused too about logging in to my laptop. But after all I'm very satisfied with this purchased

Good Laptop for the price

The battery isn't that good but I was told it will take a while for it to live up to the full potential because of all the updates.

Thanks for your review. We're sorry that your computer is not performing better for you. Here are some tips to help preserve your computer's battery life:
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

The touch screen is wonderful and the full number pad is great. It’s not the quickest but it’s also not designed to be so overall for the price, I’m happy with it.

Then got virus which Microsoft wouldn't fix without $50.00 expenditure. Keys for Programs won't work on new computer, have to purchase again. Why can't the manufacture/company back the product without requiring the consumer pay additional. Haven't had a month and it has just been expenditure and expenditure since.

The laptop didn't have a DVD drive which I wanted but I was able to get an external drive. Since I have owned it I have experienced difficulties using Video Lan Player on the laptop. After eventually doing a Windows update (many months down the line) I was able to finally use Video Lan Player for most of my video files. Another problem I experienced is when I am working on my laptop and I close the cover (putting it in sleep mode), after I open up the cover and start working on the laptop again, after a few minutes the laptop will automatically initiate a shutdown mode. This only happens when I open up the laptop from a sleep mode. So it gets a bit frustrating making me not want to power off my laptop so I don't have to deal with powering up the laptop only having it shut off on me while in the middle of something only to power it back up and start over again. Otherwise its a fairly reliable laptop. Is it the best laptop I've ever had? No but it does the job for the money I paid for it.

It has more than enough power for normal office/student work and even for some photo editing or graphics design. The price is good and my overall rating take that into account. This is not (by far) a gaming laptop but it manage ok for some casual gaming. Build quality is good. Also the keyboard and mouse pad are confortable. The only thing I dont like too much are the speakers. You can also easily update ram, change the hdd or even add an M.2 SSD in parallel to the mechanical hdd (move your os there if you do that). Be aware that this model does not includes CD/DVD drive. Others similar models do but it makes them a little more heavier.
