Great for Both Drip Coffee and Espresso
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At home I mainly drink traditional trip coffee but I do also like a nice cappuccino or latte From time to time. The drip coffee is well done with a much more rich flavor than my old Breville. The espresso making side does a decent job, maybe not as strong as I would like but for an at home machine that does dual duty it’s pretty good and I enjoy the lattes I’m able to make with it. Easy to use, easy to clean, a fair price, would recommend this one.

Mainly good, but getting a true double shot hard
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I see many detailed reviews with which I mainly agree. The combined coffee-espresso machine is compact and well made. It seems to brew good cafe Americano (which only others drink). The trouble is getting a strong double shot of espresso. I used the finest grind of a French roast bean. After much experimentation, I filled the double filter as full as I could and packed it down. It only produced what I would consider to be a little more than a single shot. Quality was good, but it quickly turns pale during brewing, so I needed to turn it off. I even tried pre-wetting, by running the brew button for a few seconds and then brewing later, but no difference. I am comparing to my Breville Barista Express, which creates a TRUE double shot without even turning the grind to its finest size or its coffee quantity to its highest value. OK, the Breville is twice the price and size, but worth every penny and inch of counter space.

Great boost for morning wakeup
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice espresso and coffee carafe for the price. The espresso maker took a few attempts to figure out since it doesn't automatically stop based on the the 1 or 2 shot grounds holder chosen. According to the internet 1 shot is equal to 1.5 ounces of liquid. Using the 2 shot grounds holder I have to use a measuring cup to stop the flow of water at 3 ounces. Overall the taste of the espresso and coffee is equivalent to that of Starbucks using their coffee beans at a cheaper price.

This Appliance is Awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works wonderfully! You can use both sides at the same time! The pucks come apart completely so you can clean them. This is important, with use the screen in the puck will clog, being able to take it apart, and clean both sides with a nail brush, keeps everything running swimmingly well! This appliance has more than paid for itself over the couple of months we have had it, no more running to the coffee shop for $8.00 Carmel Macc's.

Cafe De longhi brewer is OK. Just ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nicely designed. Makes all kinds of coffee.. Espresso or drip. But it is a throwback from the super fast hot cup at a time pod makers it replaced. Fresh coffee brew and frother rather good. But old-fashioned warmer plate burns carafe container. Should use a thermal carafe or one wastes half the pot. Espresso kit also should have included tamper and frothing cup

Leaking all over
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I apologize for the length of this review. And I rarely write reviews! But I am so unhappy with this machine that today, after it leaked water all over my kitchen counter as it has for at least 4 times a week since we got it, that I am seating down and typing away. My beloved 30 yr old Krupps espresso machine died one morning in September, and as our household would consume coffee intravenously if we could, my husband and I came to Best Buy to find a new trusted machine. I am the kind of person who "studies" for weeks when it comes to buying products that really matter to me, but in this case, I threw caution to the wind as I was missing my afternoon espresso and have been regretting my decision for the last 2 of the 3 months we've had this DeLonghi. (I am thinking of the first month as a "getting acquainted" month). It was on special when we bought it, basically $50 off, and we had heard DeLonghi is a good brand. It fit the size criteria we were looking for, so it fits in the corner of our kitchen counter and those (price, quality, size) are the reasons we got it. I should have studied. There are basically two different machines in one. A coffee maker, and an espresso one. There are two different water sources, one for each coffee making. The regular coffee side we use only to "brew" water to ideal water temperature, and pour the water in our manual french press. So, no coffee grinds have ever come near this part of the machine. On the back on that part is a filter, which I think is a water quality filter? I am not mechanically inclined, so not sure about that. Below that filter is an opening, thru which water can come out of for no apparent reason to me, except maybe to relieve hot water pressure? My old Krupps had nothing of the kind. Now on to the espresso side. Sorry it is going to sound complicated, no way around it. Getting a good cup of espresso took some practice: there are different on and off buttons for the regular coffee brewing and the espresso making. And as the espresso part lets you know with a little green light when the water is hot enough to brew, you have to literally stand in front of the machine and stare at that light, then press the button to STOP the brewing, as that light turns off at what seems to be random times. So, the first brewing process usually last about 10 seconds, then the light goes off. If you don't press on the button to stop the brewing, the water going thru is now cold and your espresso will be crap. If you want to brew more than an ounce of espresso (ie: there is 2 cups coffee filter option), you wait until the green light comes back on and press the button again. This time the light will stay on for about 15 to 20 seconds...? And here is an IMPORTANT note: you HAVE to press on the button to STOP the brewing process or the water will run thru until the espresso water container is empty. That means, if you walk away, you will end up with an overflowing cup and a big mess on your counter. But that is not the leaking I am talking about. We like strong coffee. We fill up the espresso filter/handle pretty tight. It makes a good espresso if you are vigilant. But then, as you try to enjoy the coffee, the machine starts leaking water all over the counter. I am still tring to understand where the water comes from. I think it comes out from the little hole in the back. There is another water escape hole leading in a tub on which you place the espresso cup for brewing. The tub gets regularly filled up with water too. I want to be clear about all this. I am watching my machine the whole time I brew my espresso. No leaks out of the handle, and I am not talking about water overflowing. It all happens from within the machine! I think the machine cannot handle the pressure created by the heat when brewing espresso. Hmm.... Isn't it the point of espresso machines? They are MADE to handle the pressure, that is what makes a good expresso! We have tried everything to not get the machine to leak. Less water in the water containers. less coffee in the filter/handle. Nothing helps. This machine is basically ridiculously high maintenance and I am tired of wiping my counters every time I make a cup. IT IS TOO LATE FOR US, BUT DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. When you are ready to buy a new coffee/espresso machine, make sure you write down the make and model of this machine. AND DON'T BUY IT.

Great coffee machine
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product, easy to pour water in to make drop coffee and easy to make expresso. The drop coffe comes with a reusable filter and the pot is big an easy to clean. The expresso side works awesome and it is so easy to clear. However, it does not have a selector for the coffe size, so you need to be attentive to turn off the water flow.

Good coffee maker
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine makes good coffee and espresso. There is a good working steamer for steamed milk. My only complaint is that there is not much room under the espresso press. My coffee cups don’t fit. I have to use a small cup and blend my lattes in another larger cup

A GREAT START TO THE EXPRESSO WORLD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Utilizing this machines integrated features crossing between the Coffee brew's to the Expresso shots! I do wish there was a feature to customize the amount of pressure for the water to the expresso but however this is a solid Automated Expresso/coffee machine and has a lot to offer and especially for the price. Overall I like this product a lot and it has made itself a comfy spot in my home and is going to remain their for quite some time!

Great so far!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee machine has lived up to its purpose up to this point. We have had it for about a month or so now, so not long enough to really see any issues if any arise. I will say though that the coffee it makes it a lot tastier than the coffee that my Ninja Coffee Bar would make. I haven’t used the espresso side much, but the drip coffee works great. The steam/froth wand is nice, although it doesn’t froth as nicely as I wish it did.

Delivers on both drip and espresso
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this coffee maker primarily because it was an espresso maker I could afford and also because it makes drip as well. The versatility comes in handy. It doesn't feel as sturdy as some of the metal espresso makers, and I wish it was large enough for two espresso pumps. If you want a double/quad shot drink it's going to take two rounds. All in all a solid purchase and looks nice on the countertop

Great for both
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this machine for a month, and I love it. We had a DeLonghi espresso machine for a number of years that finally gave out, and this was a great replacement. I love that you can do both espresso drinks and brewed coffee with only one thing on the kitchen counter. My only problem was that the flip-up lid on the brewed coffee carafe has already broken at the hinge - otherwise, this would be 5 stars.

Works well for the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This coffee maker/espresso machine has been used every day for the last 3 months and I have had no complaints or problems with it. It is easy to use and produces a great taste. I do recommend buying a better tamper for the espresso because the plastic one that comes with the machine is not great.

Great if your serious about coffee
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine is comparable to a real commercial espresso machine with the convenience of a drip coffee maker right there too. For me it was just too much machine. As much as I love espresso based drinks i found I was not interested in tamping and steaming etc. worth the money, looks good, performs well but like I said you gotta be serious about your coffee! Enjoy!

Great Gift For Coffee Lovers
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use this almost every single day to make coffee and over 6 months later, it still works as great as the first day. Making expressions has never been easier and more fun. And it is way more compact than most other expresso machines! Definitely worth it.

Clock and frothing issues.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am returning this product. I was excited to find an espresso and coffee combination. I love the idea of 1 unit. I could not get the clock to stay set. I reset it multiple times and it would not make it through the day. Yes, I had switched outlets to see if that was the issue. It was not. I also have issues with the frother. It will not properly froth. It makes a couple bubbles and waters down the milk. I looked into warranty with delonghi. They have you send it for repair or replacement and in the mean time I have no coffee maker at all. I am choosing to return to Best Buy before my 2 week period is up. I feel it will be much easier. I will simply buy another unit, but I think I will look for a different one all together. With all this being said, it does make coffee and espressos.

Great Coffee / Espresso Maker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best coffee maker we have ever owned. We LOVE it! To properly use it, we watched some videos in the proper ways to make espresso and clean and maintain the machine. Even with our hard water from our well works perfectly fine in this machine. No problems with it at all!

Espresso lover
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Makes excellent coffee on the pot side. love the slow brew process that imparts a richer flavor. the espresso side is simple to operate but have to use your own judgement as to when to stop the pour. the light they say to go by goes off before espresso even starts to pour. over all espresso comes out great just takes a little practice.
