A: We have had 2 replacement machines due to heating issues and no coffee coming through into the bowl. The first machine was over heating and just causing steam and only getting 1/2 the cups through and the 2nd no water coming through at all so not heating up, The 1st went wrong after 2 months and the 2nd 3 months Hope you can get this all sorted. Q: Does it actually make real espresso, with steam? Or just strong drip coffee?
A: Yes! Both! The coffee side has a setting where you can make a strong cup of coffee; it uses a cone-shaped filter so yeah, you can sure make strong coffee. The big problem is that it needs its carafe to brew, so you can't brew it right into a cup. The espresso side makes real pressed pressure-brewed espresso, and it can dispense 1 or 2 cups at a time. It also has a real steamer nozzle on it, you just need to have the right sized foaming pitcher because the foaming arm isn't terribly long. But it is totally effective and it makes for-real lattes, espressos, etc. The coffee side and the espresso side are totally separated. They have a different water tank, power buttons, and everything.
Q: What is the hight that will fit under cabinets.
A: The coffee maker itself is roughly 13 inches tall. I would make sure it has enough clearance for the steam that comes out of the top. You don't want to constantly be hitting the bottom of a wood cabinet with hot steam every morning. I would say leaving about 6 inches from the top of the coffee maker would be fine.
Q: I read something about a single serve cartridge, is that correct and How does It work?
A: Yes you can make as little as 1 cup of coffee on the brew side and 1 espresso shot on the espresso side. You don't need k-cups or extra equipment for this machine to function. This machine does not use cartridges.
Q: Can you froth (steam) milk while the coffee is brewing?
A: I just put your question to the test on my machine. The answer is YES! I started a pot of drip coffee, while that was going on, on the other side I made two of my large puck 3 hit espresso's, drip coffee still dripping, then I was able to froth milk while the drip coffee was still dripping. You can't froth and espresso at the same time, not very well anyway, the heating element on the left side of the machine can't really handle the demand. Recommendation, I froth the milk between the second and third hits of the top button to make my espresso. That way the espresso is hot and the milk is just right when the third hit finishes up.
A: No, it does not have a warranty.
A: It is pretty snug so just pull up on the front left of the door (closest to the front of the machine). It’s a small door so don’t attempt to pull it completely off. It opens to the back of the machine. After opening a few times it gets easier.
Q: Can this machine make iced coffee or cold brew?
A: No, it can't make cold brew.
